The waitress could use some etiquette and customer service skills. She is extremely unprofessional. She moves and speaks unprofessionally. She even waste food juices on guest as she rushed to grab and snatch the plates off our table without asking are you done or can I remove those plates. You have to ask her several times for something because either she's overwhelmed or forgetful. We had to ask for our drinks a few times, then we had to get up to ask someone else at the beverage station.It wasn't an pleasant experience. I could not tip her for the services received. I observed everyone on their phones. They acknowledge you as if you just standing there without reason.This speaks volumes on management. This restaurant can use some professionalism. This is a growing concern in black owned and operated businesses.

The food is good, depending on what you get, but a warning, you WON'T get service with a smile or a thank you unless you are a regular. This was my second visit here and, again, they made me feel like I was wasting their time. It is shameful to say it, but I'm not surprised at how Black owned businesses are run. Hopefully a third time will be the charm and their customer service will be better, at the very least, they can say thank you for patronizing their business. If not, I'm sure there are other soul food restaurants that are more professional and appreciative of ALL customers, not just the regulars.

Ordered the meatloaf for takeout it was great with mashed potatoes & gravy, Mac & cheese & red beans and rice. Best soul food I’ve had in a long time, great deal for your money every thing was on point. Had enough food for two days, love this place.

I ordered food today 3-2-25 at 2:45 pm with a delivery time between 3:20 thru 3:40. As of this text I haven't received my order and when I called the restaurant, I was on hold for 15 minutes and then se t to voicemail. As of this review I still haven't received my order and there's no way to track it. I literally live 20 to 25 minutes from the restaurant. This is unexceptable!!! Oh, BTW my total was $54.45. NEVER AGAIN

It's not what it use to be no onions or seasoning on the gravy Plain and bland, They need to step it up.. It takes to long to get bland food and the price doesn't match the flavor.. Service wasn't good either alot of people standing around waiting for food

Today was my last time coming here.
The food was disgusting. It’s no consistency in it anymore.
The cornbread muffins were not done. I can still taste the mix. It was not throughly cooked through. The gumbo was just a big pot of chicken smh
The customer service is horrible. I ordered turkey chops, Mac and cheese, cabbage and Candy yams. There was no candy yams. Then I said what else is there the lady said our dressing is good. They bought it out it was stove top with gravy, one word disgusting. I told the waitress just give me some black eyed peas. The black eyed peas were decent. The Mac and cheese was old. The cabbage was not good. The Turkey chops were not freshly prepared.
My friend ordered the gumbo. I tasted a crab leg. It tasted old. So I believe this is why I have ran to the bathroom 4 times since 5pm. It is now 9:46pm.

But that ain’t the end while putting my stuff in a to go box I said let me stack the plates for the lady because she seemed like she was overwhelmed. Guess what she came over and just grabbed the plates not paying attention and spilled the cabbage juice all over my clothes, keys, wallet and my IPhone 16.
Do you know she took off $7 off our bill for her mistake.

It is so hard for me to spend my money in black establishments. Yes I am black but I can’t deal with this kind of stuff.

I had not been to this place since October and I WILL NEVER COME BACK!

Worst service ever! Came here with a large party, ordered food at the register before other orders were taken. We waited and waited while the rest of our party enjoyed their food. I asked the waitress to find out about my food. She snickered and kept walking….no response. I requested a refund. The owner chased down the person that was with me to give her her food while walking right past me. I could and would NEVER support a person or business that does business like that. I hope yall have a better experience. One waitress attitude bad and the owner attitude is bad. Owner yelled at the cashier after refunding my money. The only plus was the cashier and other waitress was polite and more apologetic that we hadn’t gotten our food than the owner.

I can’t believe this place has these reviews this was horrible. Can’t make a burger at 6pm. Really ? Service was trash. Mac and cheese was gritty and trash. I can’t believe I wasted 82 dollars on food to throw away

The food may be good, but the customer service is non-existent. They don’t accurately update their hours of business online OR via their call hold message. While it may be New Years Eve the day I’m writing this (a day that I’m sure can be busy), their phone system has a specific holiday message and says they’re open on New Year’s Eve until 6pm, yet the phone was never answered so I couldn’t place a phone order. No problem, since the message also mentions you can place an order on a food app. YET, on every food app they’re labeled as “closed”. When I drive to their location in the hopes that it’s just so busy they can’t answer the phone. it’s closed. Just accurately indicate your hours of business. How hard is that? Just a general courtesy to your customers.
