The only ding is that the place is an old soul food restaurant. But they haven't lost their touch. Food is still exceptional, service with a smile, environment never fails and that server Tammy is the BEST!!!

Myself personally I love the turkey chops and gravy. And Sundays they have roast beef which is also very good. Generous portions. We usually get our food to go because the place is pretty busy.

I love the breakfast options the turkey chops ate my favorite. However the last time I went we arrived at 1135am and were seated. The waitress came over at 1150am a told us there was no more breakfast. I had just picked my Son up at Ontario Airport and drove over an hour to make it in time fir breakfast. So we just left and got fried fish at Family Fish Market located I'm the same shopping center

R&R soul Food finger looking good 10 toes down. OK, I can buy a plate of food and eat it for three days with a good portion. It’s just outstanding that’s my spot and I come all the way from Pasadena..R&R Soul Food, that hits DIFFERENT.

I haven't been here in a while to order their dressing (when I don't feel like making mine, their's will do in the moment). It seems there may be a new cook or they just messed up this batch as sage was the flavor overpowering the dish, and it was quite more mush rather than that balanced texture.
Also, they allow the merchant for payment by card to apply the surcharge to their customers using debit cards, which is illegal. I hate when establishments act as if they're unaware of this law in California, specially in certain communities of color! This will be reported as debit cards are not to be charged a fee for use at restaurants.

Man I bought a full pan of dressing for a $115.00
Opened it up at home and my discust it was nothing but hot stuffing mix. No seasoning nothing plain as day what a disgrace,that's what I get being lazy going a mexican soul food restaurant

This establishment is absolutely terrible. From the service to the food. Absolute trash! Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere. Stop doing business with them until they get their customer service right. Period!

My family has supported this business since its very beginning. Over the years, I overlooked the outdated décor and unpleasant atmosphere because I wanted to continue supporting a local establishment. Unfortunately, after my experience this morning, I have decided I will no longer support this business in any capacity.
Last week, I called to inquire about ordering three dozen chicken wings for a small holiday staff party. I was quoted $117 and was specifically told to call the day before so the order could be prepared. I followed those instructions and called today, only to be placed on hold for 12 minutes without any acknowledgment before I eventually hung up.
When I called back, a woman answered. I politely asked whether they sell chicken drumettes or only whole wings, explaining that the order was for a small staff party. Before I could finish, she cut me off and told me I needed to come in for catering. I clarified that we were only eight people and were simply ordering wings. She interrupted again and handed the phone to someone named Luis.
I asked Luis the same questions, and he immediately told me he “couldn’t do it” and that I had to come in. He then asked how I planned to pay. I explained that payment was not an issue—I was calling ahead, as instructed, to confirm pricing and preparation. His tone was dismissive and rude, as if I had done something wrong, even though I remained polite throughout the entire interaction.
When I told him I would order from somewhere else, he replied, “That’s fine,” and hung up on me.
After decades of loyalty, I am shocked and deeply disappointed by the lack of basic courtesy, professionalism, and respect. This restaurant is dirty, run-down, and now clearly unconcerned with the customers who helped sustain it for years.
M&M will be my go-to moving forward—the food is better, and the customer service is far superior. For those who may not know, this location was purchased by cooks from the original Carson M&M’s after M&M moved. Sadly, it feels like they have taken advantage of long-time customers ever since.
I will be encouraging my family and other Carson residents who have supported this business from the beginning to consider supporting M&M instead. It’s just one block north, with a much better atmosphere and significantly better customer service.
R&R, I am greatly disappointed by the unprovoked and disrespectful way I was treated. After decades of support, this experience was unacceptable.
