Really nice place, waitress was nice. Got the chicken and waffles. Chicken didn't seem like it was fried right then but heated up and not really seasoned. Waffle was just ok. Had some type of potato square not sure what it was. Overall disappointed.

I was very disappointed to see all Hispanics cooking serving everything,I have nothing against them but as many black ppl that need a job seems like a soul food place that use to have blacks in it and the food use to taste good this seems so wrong when the majority of ppl that help build that place up and bought food was black ppl ,this just seems so disappointing.Especially when we can go to a Hispanic food place and it won’t ever be black ppl in there at all not anywhere.The sad part is it is just disrespectful but I know my little change don’t count but I use to love coming there but done

Before being seated I was rudely spoken to by Antionette. She was our waitress. She brought out two menus and two place settings and walked away. When she returned, I kindly informed her that there would be two other people dining with us. She became defensive and rude. After bringing two more menus and two more sets of utensils she began to be sarcastic and demeaning in tone, stating “Was that all”. I thanked her regardless.
She brought out our food very promptly. Some of the food was not fresh to order besides a few items based on the taste and texture. I ordered the catfish, yams, cabbage, and succotash. The yams were pretty good. The succotash was a little too acidic for my taste but other people in our party enjoyed it. The catfish was okay and the cabbage seemed like it was either overcooked or from yesterday.
Antoinette came to the table and asked if we would like a refill of water but then decided to only refill one cup of water. There were 4 four adults and one child. Either way, I paid for the dinner plate which was roughly $23.
The establishment has a boarded-up door. Mediocre food for the price. The atmosphere is more like a mom-and-pop shop. Some mom-and-pop shops are good but this one could have put more emphasis in customer service. Overall this place could have fresher food, better servers, and better ambiance for the price.

My experience at the restaurant was horrible. I ordered the oxtails yams Mac n dressing a lemonade because they was out of everything else. For dessert banana pudding.
I’ll start by saying the oxtails were so fatty. They should have trimmed them. Mac cool dressing ok. Yams was waters down and nothing end the but sugar. I been banana pudding all my life from different ppl and this one had a in familiar taste not seasoning but taste i could put my finger on but it was definitely subpar. They had the nerve to serve me burnt mf corn bread. Smh. I paid about 40 for bs because I was wanting soul food. I will never eat at this establishment again. I would took pictures of the food but I decided to write this after I gave the food to the dog. But here is a pic of the cornbread. I was livid.

I have to retrack my original rating I cast a year ago that was excellent. On Sunday, December 11, my sister and I went there after I raved about how good the food was. Unfortunately, after waiting for over an hour wait to get our food. She inquired about her food three times, and each time she was told her food was not ready (they had my sister's food on the back counter along with the takeout). I ordered all sides: mac n cheese, collard greens, and yams. The greens were over seasoned with garlic, and the mac n cheese was just not good - they were nasty! The banana pudding is missing the fingers from the South. The food overall is missing real black flare. R&R, please do better.
Paid $30 and even the slice of $4.00 cake was hard! The greens taste like they soaked them in vinegar then cooked them in chicken broth the Mac and cheese was pasty the catfish was fried entirely too hard and the old drippings of turkey in the greens. Very disappointing.

My husband and I spent about two hours deciding on which soul food establishment to visit this past Sunday. There were not too many to choose from, due to the day and time. We googled some places and came across R&R!! This was the best choice I had made all day?. The food was hot and fresh, seasoned perfectly. The staff was friendly and very courteous. I would have posted a picture but I was too greedy and started eating as soon as I arrived home! If you are looking for a good soul food restaurant put R&R on your list. For reference I ordered the turkey wings and smothered chicken with greens, yams and macaroni and cheese with cornbread muffins. Enjoy ?

I have NEVER had short ribs as tender as this place, from ANY other soul food place! Not sure what they are doing, but they have the very best, melt-in-your-mouth short ribs ever!
