The food was horrible. The greens were undercooked. The dressing looked like they added water stretch it out and no taste. No flavor to the short ribs. I purchased 3 (three) dinners for $90.00 do not waste your time, money and gas. You can to go the Alma restaurant in Compton. That was great food for the money.

Was positively surprised by the flavor and portion size! The sides were packed and the chicken was nice juicy and flavorful. Didn't finish plate in one sitting! Service was nice. If you're in the mood for home cooking, this place is worth the visit!

Tonight, I was very disappointed with this place. The catfish was disgusting. I had two pieces of fish that is spoiled. My whole car smelled bad. Older lady was very disrespectful. I've been here for 35 years and will never come back again.

Am a native resident of Carson, been here all 24 years of my life living within 3 miles of this place. Food can be good or absolutely terrible. The service goes down significantly year after year and its terrible. I hate that a soul food spot gotta be ran this way… just bad vibes. I probably won’t continue to be a patron bc of the horrible service. Waste of time.

I have been coming here for years, now that they have gotten rid of this young female working there the service is 200% better. Everyone smiles, which is a good thing. I love the ox tails. My father loves the liver and onions, and my husband loves the pork chops. Their turkey chops are ? You won't be disappointed.

Went to this establishment for dinner thinking it was another restaurant. We called on the way to the place because it was late and everyone was closing by 8pm. It was a Sunday night. The guy on the phone was very pleasant and you could hear in the background they were very busy. The food was very good just a little salty for me but I don't eat a lot of salt so that doesn't count. The portions were very hearty and the price very reasonable compared to other soul food restaurants. My grandchildren had two complaints (1) the smothered chicken was actually fried chicken covered in gravy (instead of cooked in gravy) and they were out of oxtails and did not tell us that over the phone so my grandson was stuck with getting a substitute. All in all, it was a good experience. I gave the atmosphere and service a 4 only because we didn't eat there but the service we received over the phone and for pick up was very good. One drawback was the parking and access to the building, we couldn't find it. It may have been because of google maps, the lighting in the area, and the location. Because we were pressed for time we parked on the street in front of the building, but we were in and out in about 5 minutes and that's good timing for pickup at a soul food eatery.
