Used to be great, they had quality beans and coffee iced cubes. Now it's just a mediocre coffee shop

So far the best place to work remotely in CV but there are some drawbacks. Even though it's a large space, it's sometimes difficult to find a place to work near an outlet. They also need signs to control etiquette, too many people are loud, or have their phones on speakerphone when they are talking, or do video conferences without headphones. Orders are right 85% of the time. Need to keep doors closed to keep warm air in, or signs to tell people to close door behind them. Sometimes there are disruptions from large groups that come in that make it really noisy. Sometimes the music is really loud and makes it difficult to have conversations thus bringing the overall volume of the area up significantly. Good drinks.
This is in a church.
The biggest coffee place I’ve ever seen!!

Great place overall.
Its a pretty nice cafe with solid coffee and pastries. But it is in a megachurch and if you go at the wrong time they blast the sermon into the coffee shop and surrounding area.
This can be a little frustrating if you are coming to study or socialize.
My main memory was it was pretty warm but I also burn like a volcano so you ladies might love it here plus 18 sweaters haha.
Grabbed a tuna Sand that had a nice hint of sweetness to it.
Wifi at the nook I sat at was pretty spotty I believe I ended up on a hotspot from my cellphone
They recently extended their hours and I think I left at 4pm this day
Cafe in a giant church. I guess I didn’t read enough reviews because it’s was a surprise to us.
Coffee was good and lots of space to work.
Came on a Sunday and they were playing the sermon on the speakers. I truly tried to keep an open mind as I listened and sipped my coffee but within 5 minutes I was being told the only way to heaven is through belief in Jesus Christ. Seems to leave a few billion good people out don’t you think? Yikes, haven’t we moved past this yet. Hard to separate the cafe review from the sermon playing overhead.
I’ll give it another try but just not on a Sunday. Hopefully I can just get a good cup of coffee and not be told I’m damned for eternity because I don’t believe there is only 1 conveniently narrow path to salvation …
Update, 2 years later:
I’ve been here many times since my original review, and while my first impressions weren’t great, my overall opinion has shifted.
The people working at the cafe are genuinely kind and friendly humans. There has been zero attempts to convert, preach or push an agenda on me. I am simply served surprisingly great coffee by kind people and you cannot argue with that.
The atmosphere feels kind of college campus-like, with groups of people playing cards, some heads down in their laptops and some just hanging out reading a book. It's now one of my go to spots.
Hood for a morning coffee and a sit. With baked goods. Easy parking, lots of space inside, and some patio seating outside.
And being right next to the freeway makes getting on the road again convenient.
The Baristas are nice, it's a good place to start your day out with a happy face.
I'd highly suggest the place.

Friendly staff, good coffee, and good view.
Now serving Cat & Cloud Coffee instead of Verve (cold brew and nitro still verve as of 2/24/25)
Overall good but not outstanding - other than service, which was excellent. To be fair, I went on a Sunday morning which is probably not the best time. Brew coffee was non-offensive. Aero-press unavailable on Sundays. Pastries were pleasant - not the best I've ever had, but nice. Good lemon scone and Cinnamon roll was decent. I'd recommend on a weekday if you are in the area.

Cafe 4 is fantastic for sitting and doing some work or even meeting with a small group.
Huge expansive space with massive ceilings and plenty of seating in the foyer of the church.
It's located at the iconic 3 crosses church near 238 and 580, so most people in the area have probably driven past it at some point.
The cafe has a few nice drinks and some pastries served at room temperature. They do not have a microwave as they have told me numerous times ?
Bathroom on on site and plenty of free parking outside. Located very close to the intersection of 238 and 580, somewhat close to the castro valley downtown area.
