The food has been really good so far, I have only been here twice and both times I had the Betty Down Home chicken sandwich with fries. The only difference is one of the times they added the spicy honey directly to the sandwich and the other time it came on the side which I prefer as it keeps the bun from falling apart.I will definitely be coming back to try different items on the menu.
The Cannery Kitchen and Tap is a lively place in Castro Valley Marketplace. It has both indoor and outdoor seating options. Extensive breakfast and brunch menu. We ordered The Tucker - poached eggs and salmon on biscuits, The Boulevard - poached eggs on chickpea cake and Betty's Down Home burger - buttermilk fried chicken burger. We had our dog with us and needed a place where we could get yummy food and sit outside by the heat lamps and this was a great choice!My husband and I split the Cubano sandwich with fries and the beet and arugula salad. The sandwich was excellent and the salad was ok but it was a great balance to the sandwich.The fries were delicious with ketchup.
