I had never before eaten at Dell Cafe, but thought I would support them before they closed permanently. I am so sorry that I wasted my time and good money here. The service was atrocious, they were not able to accommodate my very simple request, and they overcharged us on our bill but refused to make it correct. Unbelievable! I would never return to an establish that treated their customers this way. They must cook everything on the same grill because the eggs, hash browns, and pancakes all tasted like the grease they cooked them on. They also never came back to refill my coffee cup. I had to get up and go to the counter any time I needed a refill. I am assuming their "regular" customers are treated better? I am surprised that they have been in business for this long. They should be embarrassed.

Good food and service. Hearty portions. Cute waiter! Will definitely return before they shut their doors permanently in January 2022.

I love the food here! But I found a fruit fly still alive and moving in the middle of my hash browns and note that I had just broken open my hash-browns. We told our waiter (super nice guy) but when he told the cook/owner (i think) he said "I don't know where it came from" but it was in the middle of my potatos. Was pretty disappointed in the chef for that response.

Across the street from the now sadly closed Noodle Home. When I'm craving classic american breakfast food, I come here. I can't resist getting an omelet here, though I wouldn't 100% call it an omelet since the fillings are mixed in with the eggs rather than being fillings inside of a wrapper made of eggs. I prefer it that way because it's easier to get multiple ingredients in one bite this way, and the eggs themselves have more flavor since they've mixed with everything. Also a great place for french toast!

My girlfriend and I love Del's. It's a gem and should be preserved as long as possible. Everything is freshly made, and we drink several cups of their wonderful coffee each visit. My favorite items: chicken fried steak, any omelette, and be sure to order a few slices of french toast (for the table).

Not a good look for this establishment that is perhaps in its' last gasp of air. Walked in, to rude customer service. The gentleman in the front has no manners in treating new customers, but almost high fives and kissed all the regular. How about 5 star customer service all across the board buddy? Funny thing is I still tipped nicely as a new customer as compared to some of the regulars who didn't even bother to leave the coins from their bill change. The food is not worth the money, pretty basic stuff that I could've easily cooked at my house for perhaps a 5th of the cost. And a surcharge? I'm all for helping out small businesses, but I will not be the one footing the bill when you can't make it work for mismanagement. If you're quality and portions of food are bad and you wanna sneak in DOUBLE the surcharge on customers, maybe you really got no business staying open.

Let me apologize in advance for not taking photos, lol. . .I had ordered for take out. Even though you can dine-in. The food is superb and the waffles are wow!I ordered two breakfasts with over well eggs, bacon, sausages, wheat toast and banana waffle. I noticed a sign on the glass door saying now serving Philly cheese steaks! They are outstanding and the fries that came with it work extra crispy!Next time we will be dining in!!! If you're ever in Castro Valley do stop by the mom and pop Dell Café! Well worth it!
