The food is good and the service is pretty fast. You have to order food and then the food is brought out to you. We tried the kalua pork hash, ube latte and mochiko chicken and pandan waffle. The food was very tasty. The mochiko chicken was perfectly crispy and the waffle has a great pandan flavor as well. We were not a huge fan of the ube latte, you can't really taste the ube.

Been going to this restaurant with my family every time we have something to celebrate. The food is always amazing and I suggest dining in for the complimentary chips! The service is fairly quick and the staff is typically friendly, I never had any issues. You order before you sit and it is self seating so just be weary about bringing a bigger group. Otherwise, great place to try!

Came in for breakfast and ordered a fried chicken sandwich. I’m not too sure if they’re frying their meat in vegetable oil, butter, or some type of shortening but the meat in my sandwich tasted off compared to any other experience I’ve ever had in my life. I also tried the strawberry Nutella crepe. The crepe was amazing! Fresh strawberries and soft crepe bread. Everything for the most part is self serve and they do not have refillable drinks. Self seating, but they have a kids area in one of the main seating areas, which can throw you off if you’re trying to have a moderately quiet breakfast among other adults when there are children screaming in the main seating area. Very fast service with how long it took for the food to come out. Overall an “okay” experience.

Never have I ever had a bad meal here! And I've been here over a dozen times. When you arrive, you wait in line, drool over the pastries as you wait, then you order, pay for your food, grab free chips and salsa, find a seat, sit down, enjoy your snack, and wait for your food. We've tried everything here. My favorite is the mochico chicken and waffles, Denica's scramble, and the kalua pig hash. Portions are huge and I always enjoy the rest for dinner or breakfast the next day.

The food is delicious definitely bigger portions than I thought. The service was good as well recommend to go earlier in the day if you don't want to wait that much.

I had a great time with good company here recently. This spot was pretty busy on a Tuesday around 10am. You order at the counter and your order gets brought to your table if you decide to dine in. I got the Roma via Paris which was exactly what I wanted in my savory breakfast. The portion was huge! I ended up eating my leftovers later that day as a whole meal. I also got the lavender white mocha. It was very milky but I enjoyed the lavender taste a lot. My friends got the loco moco and epic chicken and waffle. They both enjoyed their meals as well.

I stumbled upon this gem in Castro Valley, and wow, it's a flavor explosion! It's like stepping into an '80s diner. I love how everything was so old school and giving old fashioned! the ambiance was AMAZINGGG! The only thing is that it can get really busy throughout the weekends so I say go early as possible! but let's talk about the staff? WOW Super friendly and patient. And talk about speedy service the food was out in no time, smelling divine and tasting even better. They've got a massive menu, perfect for any breakfast craving. I went for my birthday breakfast on a friend's tip, and parking was a breeze. Plus, their coffee is just *chef's kiss*. I'd be here every day if it wasn't for the 40-minute drive. But it's worth the trip, and I can't recommend it enough

Love this spot! It's super busy on weekends so my hack is to try and do breakfast here before the rush. The parking lot is usually empty, food comes out within minutes, the bakery items look amazing, and you can enjoy and eat at your pace. The ambiance is great, it's a great place to come alone, bring kids, meet friends, etc. I've ordered from them online with great results on delivery and have also ordered take out and picked up myself. This was my first time dining in and I was really happy. My party ordered a breakfast burrito with no meat and a scrambled plate with no meat. We also ordered some cookies and unfortunately don't think we got any pictures of those. I would highly recommend this place. You'll be able to find anything that you're craving here with ease. This is going to be one of my go to spots. I'll have to try the other locations eventually to see if they are all pretty standardized and consistent.

This is the first time I've been to this location. They have a parking lot but it gets full. Even at 1:30, (90 mins before closing), there was no parking. It did clear up when I left an hour later. The entrance is on the side of the building and the door where the parking lot is takes you to the back side of the dining space. Lots of tables, booths, even outdoor seating. Again, gets full fast and is on a first come first served basis. You order at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table and they deliver the food do you. Refill your own waters and they have a chip and salsa bar with mild, medium, and hot salasa. Their medium salsa was actually really refreshing and my favorite of the 3. They should make a separate counter/window for those who want to order drinks or pastries only. The line was almost out the door and it moved pretty slow. At the time that I went almost all of the pastries were gone except for a few and a decent selection of cookies left. So if you're thinking of ordering pasties to-go after your meal, I suggest order everything at once so you don't have to wait in line twice. They'll box it for you. Service was below average. I was behind the counter trying to ask a question and it took a few minutes before someone noticed. All the staff were just talking to each other. The janitorial was pretty fast about clearing and cleaning the tables though. As for food, I got the mochiko chicken and waffle. Claims to be mochi pandan waffle but there was no mochi or mochi consistency at all! It was just a regular pandan waffle. Really misleading. The chicken was also cold and didn't taste good. However the kalua pig hash was so flavorful! The potatoes were soft and crispy, scrambled eggs were fluffy and pork ratio was perfect. The toasted sourdough tied everything together. I would recommend this if you're having trouble deciding on what to order. I also ordered an iced ube latte. Too milky, not enough ube. My bf got a Nutella latte and it was also lacking flavor. Not enough Nutella. Their drinks were a total miss despite sounding delicious. Overall, I would pick out one of their other locations before going back to this one.

Welcome to IHOP I somberly thought with the first taste of Denicas, What a flop Spanish lattes are not their forte Omelettes and loco moco lacked completion Season season season the lack of is treason For some rice... what a price If you want some advice avoid the line and you'll find somewhere else more divine Don't be allured by it's Hawaiian appeal You're better off going to IHOP for a meal Denicas is not the real deal

I would have given the place a five star but I didn't really like the seating arrangements. Food is great. Service is pretty fast. The only thing I didn't like is having to stand in line and order then you also have to find your own seats so you kind of have to compete with people which is hard when you have young kids.

I have gone here since the day they opened. ( in fact I would periodically go here when it was Shari's Pies). I have taken EVERY friend and family member that I have here at one time or another. Denica's has been my go to for years and now I will NEVER return. I specifically went here for the cinnamon rolls and had a friend from out of state visiting. He wanted breakfast so we ordered my cinnamon roll first and then the rest. I said no receipt when asked. When I got the bag there was no cinnamon roll. I went to the counter to let them know, and they acted as though I was trying to rip them off for a cinnamon roll, while dressed in all Louis Vuitton being a business day. He then asked the host about the transaction, and she said she did not charge me for the cinnamon roll, which when doing the calculation of the total bill was absolutely incorrect as who would pay $50 for avocado, toast, and a tostada. By the way I am a mathematician by trade. Anyway, rather than argue with a friend in, I asked to purchase another. This is dishonest or laziness. Either way this is not how I want someone preparing my food. Trust is lost, and when it comes to food trust is key.
