Los Molcajetes Fresh & Grill

This place is a hidden gem. I love all their food but, more specifically, the fajitas. These guys always serve very generous portions of meat, with the rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortillas. I'm always skeptical about ordering the fajitas in fear of getting mostly veggies, lol, but this place did not disappoint. I'll be back for more of their menu.

Only stopped in for drinks and chips/salsa. Chips and salsa were clearly home made and freshhhhhh. Drink was balanced and delicious, and the glassware was beautiful. Can’t wait to come back for a full meal!

The meat in my fajitas had zero seasoning and my wife ordered the street tacos also had no seasoning and barely cooked meat had no color to it at the end of it all I really didn’t even feel like paying for the meal but I did because I know I would never come back to eat at this place and anyone that gave this place a good review shame on you that’s the only reason I gave this place a try

This place was amazing. They have so many options of different kinds of food and everything tastes so fresh even their chips and salsa they give you before your meal the salsa tastes so fresh and had a nice kick to it but not to spicy. I got one of their many margaritas options I chose the don Julio one which at first tasted sweet but when you drop the shot of don Julio into it made it taste so much better. For food I got their Molcajete De Mariscos, which had shrimp mulled, scallops, crab and fish in it server with tortillas. It had a lot of seafood in it plenty to fill you up. Very good flavor and plenty of options for anyone. They even have burgers here too.

I am not sure where the poor reviews are coming from. I have never ever ever had a poor experience here. They remodeled not to long ago and my largest complaint of cleanliness has been remediated. The place is clean and the food is pretty darn good. They are so polite in service and the drinks are properly made nice and stiff. We had a party of 9 that included 4 kids and we were out of there for less than 300 with tips and the adults had drinks. I had the steak enchiladas and the meat was seasoned very well. Rice was good and refried beans nice and tasty. My glass was refilled with out ever asking. My kids were rambucious and spilling shit and the staff was polite and accommodating through it all. I have never had a bad meal here. One of the go to mexican places in my mind. CHips and salsa never run dry.....

For a Wednesday afternoon it is typically slow but waitress is not. She is on the ball, drinks and food are show quality. Definitely recommend. Ala carte chili relleno looks like a master piece.

Great restaurant. Good vibes. My mom got a pina colada and a chile rellenos a side of beans and rice I got a chicken salad and a caramel coffee iced everything is delicious. The waitress is very nice and the restaurant is clean and looks great.

My chile rellenos were not cooked thoroughly (they were charred but not kept cooking long enough), kept chewing and chewing the poblano Chile. The pepper put on top of the chile then microwaved were so hard and raw could NOT eat those also. The egg batter was perfect however. The, sauce was like water, NO flavor at all!!

The rice was hard in my son’s burrito.
My mom never got her tortillas with her food, waited so long for the server that I had to go ask the cook myself. Very slow service despite a very slow evening. Can’t imagine when it’s busy. The server was very nice however.

Be careful your plates will be burning hot, just not the food lol I say this because my plate was so hot to the touch, however the cheese inside the chile was not melted at all.

I will say being able to get some watermelon and extra sauce is a plus, very enjoyable.The horchata was delicious as well. One of the best ones I have had.

My mom loves the 7 mares, she comes often, but this was my son & I’s first time.

Would be willing to give some other dishes a try and hopefully have a better experience in the future.

New owners have brought improved flavors to what was good to now is great. Have been going here for years and always considered it good food. The place has been cleaned up and freshend inside. Service was good, efficient and friendly. My meal of a carnitas enchilada, chile relleno and taco were a step up from prior meals here. You could taste the different components of each dish. In other restraunts and as this place used to be the individual flavors get lost and become a blend of one as sauces and ingredients simmer for long periods. Though still good there is a loss of freshness. Not now Hard to put in words. You'll just have to try it. My Chile relleno was flavorful and not greasy nor over battered. I had my taco crispy this time and it was, not sogged out. The carnitas were tender with some charred pieces that balanced well with the tender. The enchilada was as good as the other two items and nicely sauced. This is my go to meal here and I usually don't finish the rice and refried beans. This time my plate looked like it never had food on it when I was done. Definitely a favorite Mexican restraunt in the Bay Area
