Draft beer, gatorade, hamburger with fries, hot dog, everything you'd expect from a golf course cafe. Help was friendly and courteous.

Had a good experience in this spot with my girlfriend. The food was served fast and the customer service is just fantastic. Prices are reasonable.

Nice ambiance and view. Quiet. Reasonable prices and good menu choices. Nice portion sizes. Excellent kale salad. Good wine list. Spare ribs slightly overcooked and fish dish could have been warmer.

Believe the other reviews about the service. We went for Mother's Day brunch. The food was decent but not a large selection but also cheaper than some other brunches with larger selections. Desserts were marginal. The staff was not very friendly at all, very slow and unorganized. Many unhappy customers based on service but most appeared satisfied with food.

The food was good and the hostess was friendly but this was absolutely the worst service I have ever received. One meal came 15 minutes later than the others, we had to flag down our waitress each time we needed something and there was a clear lack of management. Considering the prices I would expect a better-trained staff.

Good food and service, ambiance a bit sterile, could be warmer with for instance some background music like the standards (Sinatra, Holliday, Martin, Bennett). When we first arrived the restaurant had only a few guests and the room was too quiet, like a library and felt a bit awkward.

We love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friend's home, and it's on the golf course. We could hear the frogs chirping loudly this Spring - after all of the rain we've had (finally!) The staff at the restaurant make it so worth eating here, and we can actually hold a conversation. It is quiet, the food is good, and we can watch the golfers drive floatable balls into the lake. We've been here several times, and will come back for more. One of our favorite waiters is Nick; he knows how to make us feel right at home.

Sadly, this place just can't seem to get it together. Castro Valley needs more restaurant options and this is sadly the best we have. It's nice rolling down the street to eat here, but driving to San Leandro or Hayward for a better dining experience is nicer.

This was an awkward dining experience. I had never been to The Meadows and wanted to try something new for Valentine's Day....apparently so did the restaurant! They are not usually open during the week (weekends only it seems) and as far as I am concerned it showed all over the service. The servers were slow, uncoordinated, and not attentive to many of the diners. We will definitely not return to this restaurant.

This restaurant has the potential to be great, but for some reason continues to disappoint. I visited here with some friends. We got a drink at the bar since we were early for our reservation, the bartender made our drinks and then disappeared. Never saw her again, another group came in and asked us if there was a bartender and we said she left. They waiting about 10 minutes and then left. We then noticed that the wait staff from the restaurant was getting their drinks for their customers and some customers were coming over to the bar to get their own drinks. We went over to the restaurant for our meal and were seated, we were informed that some of the wait staff had called off and they were very short staffed so one of the golf workers would be our server. We order salad, soup and our meal. Salad came, no soup, meal came and then the soup. No staff asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything or if we wanted dessert. We asked for the bill which was dropped off and we never saw another staff person come by, so we left our money on the table.

We were headed to Jack London Square with friends from Castro Valley. On our way from Walnut Creek, we encountered a road closure due to flooding from the heavy rains this 2017 year. It delayed us getting to dinner, so we looked locally and found this gem. The food was good, the restaurant was quiet - so we could talk easily, the food good - including gluten-free options, and Nick, the waiter, was amazing.

Would have given 5 stars this time..for myself the lobster tail was superb. My sister and our friend's filet mignon was extremely small! The size of the steak was fit for a child?I tasted it and it was delicious. I told them to return it, but they were ok with it. I would have asked for a bit more as it was not inexpensive. Overall, love The Meadows and will be a regular visit.

This place was great, until we found out they will be changing hands soon, sold over to Wedgewood, who I believe does events, weddings etc. We were so excited to have found this place and then let down within the next minute to hear this. For some of the staff it was their last night! Going to try to get there before it changes over completely. So sad.
