The Southern Belle Café

This is a gem of a little place to get good southern style food and great service. The fried chicken was some of the best we have had. It was not greasy at all. It was very crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the collard greens were good and the Cole slaw, the fried green tomatoes were AMAZING (which are very hard to find good ones in CA). The waitress was so friendly and provided us with great service. The whole place was very clean including the restrooms. We will definitely will be back even though we live 1 hour away, it was definitely worth the drive. Good Southern food is hard to find in CA so if you like it this is definitely a place to put on your list to visit.

I have been wanting to go here for more any a couple years, but would always end up wanting to get it at a time when they were closed sadly. However, that changed the day before my birthday! My gf and I loved it! Probably the best chicken fried steak I've ever had, period and that gravy! Tell the chef or chefs to teach me their secret on that cause I can make some gravy, but man y'all got me beat. The deserts we're just as good too. Absolutely loved the grits, haven't had grits that good since I lived in North Carolina.

My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience here. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was extremely comfortable. Very friendly environment. We look forward to visiting this place again when we're in the area.

I wanted to give this place a better rating but just couldn't. We got the seafood trio, the Cajun fried chicken, coleslaw, fried green tomatoes, and peach cobbler with ice cream. We ordered beef ribs but were told they were sold out. We also order the mashed potatoes but those never made it. The seafood trip had Cajun shrimp, fried soft shell crab and fried catfish. The shrimp anf crab were good however, the catfish had no flavor. Coleslaw was good as well but the chicken also had no seasoning or flavor (described as having secret seasonings on it) we could taste. Fried green tomatoes were ok. Those also had no real flavor to them. Peach cobbler was good, crust was dense and yummy! We will try again when we come back as it may have just been an off day.

Jeff is extremely friendly. He is always smiling and attentive. The chicken was delicious, Charlisa did an amazing job. I will definitely be back.

Authentic, TASTY, rare treat! Hush puppies, cheesy grits, jambalaya, pulled pork, beignets…wow! Peach cobbler to die for!

I lived this place! Great truly Southern cuisine! I had a delicious Cajun omelette, a friend had biscuits and gravy which he had tried before that looked amazing, and another had shrimp and grits, which he also loved. I will definitely be back often. My goal is to try everything.

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for quite some time now & have always had an amazing experience! I’ve never had a bad meal here. My favorite is the French toast… cinnamon HEAVEN! Their sweet tea is my go-to when I’m craving a traditional southern treat. I lived in Louisiana for 14 years and am so glad Southern Belle is right down the road from me here in the desert! Cheers!

I cant believe i paid for rock hard black eyed peas very disappointing the crab sandwich was good and the hush puppies but the black eyed peas wasn't even cook i promise to god the peas was harder than the rocks in the Palm Springs mountains Dirt trails I'm definitely not going again

I have not eaten here yet but I own marnie's soul food barbecue and I know how vicious people can be I have one particular person that said such bad things about me that it made me not want to cook no more but I would encourage you the owners of southern belle to keep hanging in on in there because you know you can't please everybody all the time but you are doing well enough that you must be doing something right honey so God bless you and I just wanted to pray for you and let you know that I am praying for you and for your business I myself am trying to get out of my home after the pandemic from cooking and going into my own building and it's a lot of work to get to where you're at do not let anybody discourage you God bless you and may he lift you up and bless you with more than you can receive

Long wait today just for a burger. Oftentimes doordash don't accept delivery from Southern Belle Cafe because it's always a long wait.Food is good, dine in is better. Delivery no good!!!

I can’t say enough about how fantastic the food is. We’ve had both breakfast breakfast and dinner. Both were fantastic. Shrimp and grits, hush puppies, oh hush puppies. Fried chicken sandwich, omelette , and the sausage Benedict , excellent. I highly recommend this spot ,

The southern comfort food was great! Plentiful and tasty. Very personable staff. Expanded hours for dinner now! Will be back!
