There, must have been a convention or something lots of people wearing name tags flooded the restaurant right about noon simultaneously. In the span of just a couple minutes all the tables were filled and people were standing and waiting. Everything was good, just be aware, large events can completely saturate the restaurant's availability, In the blink of an eye.”

“We’ve ordered from here several times. This is our go to place for excellent fresh high quality authentic Mexican food. Their chicken mole is outstanding, and the chicken fajitas are delicious. The fresh chips and salsa are top notch, fresh and delicious. I appreciate a full serving with rice and beans with each entree. And fresh tortillas. The price is an excellent value at about $18-$19 for each entree. You certainly get your moneys worth. We had margaritas at the bar. They were fantastic!
We usually pick up and take the food home. The quality is consistent and has always been fresh. Thank you! I highly recommend Taqueria San Miguel!”

Went there for lunch today and ordered a carne asada taco with the works and a chicken hard shell taco. Both filled with tons of delicious meat and fixings. Price was less than $15. Cute place and a great patio in the back that would work well for a group of maybe 40+! I’ll be going back again!”

“I really wish I would have taken a picture of my vanilla yogurt bowl but I just dove in! It had bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. All of the fruit was sweet and looked absolutely delicious. The granola was still crunchy and the yogurt was fantastic. I also ordered a brown sugar white mocha iced latte and it was to die for. Creamy, balanced, not too sweet, not too acidic, and just flat out worth the calories. This family owned and run business is my new favorite spot for a morning or mid afternoon pick me up!”

“My son and I were looking for something to eat before we went food shopping. We didn't know where to go. We stumbled across this spot and we thought we'd give it a try.

Overall we were satisfied. The only downsides were:
- The rice that they served us was basically just an overcooked pile of mush.
- The hummus had no salt and it tasted a little fermented.

However we got the chicken kabob plate and the falafel plate and both the chicken kabobs and the falafels themselves were good. Luckily we had a tzatziki sauce to go with them because the hummus was not really that good. There were ups and downs but overall we were happy. It is also a bit overpriced but it's Palm Springs... If they were just to tweak those couple of things, they would have a hit on their hands.”

I had the Chile Relleno with cheese (vegetarian options available, which was super nice!) and my husband had the Enchiladas de Mole with chicken - and both were delicious! The mole sauce is definitely of 5-star quality! It was all so fresh and authentic, with the foods being beautifully presented on the plates. I also highly recommend the horchata drinks there too!”

“After a long day of shopping a quick google search led us to Meng's. There are few photos but we took a chance and I am convinced that there are not enough photos because once you food arrives-your phone immediately gets put down. The area is not great and the restaurant itself serves your food on paper dixie plates-BUT LOOK PAST THAT! The food was amazing. Cooked to order by a Lola. There was a special that included all the basics; pancit, lumpias, and bbq pork on a skewer. We also got the lechon kawali which was pretty much chicharon. The sauce situation was a vinegar based sauce and a sweet sauce. They went well together. The dirty rice was also great. I can't say enough nice things about the food, and the employees. The woman at the register said we picked a good variety of dishes, despite never having ordered Filipino food before. We also got the Tocilog plate which is also sweet BBQ pork (but different). I def recomend. Don't be intimidated by the large menu of pictures, just ask the women behind the register and she will greet you with a smile.”

Try the grilled baja shrimp tacos!!! Staff is friendly.”

You can get waffle cone, you can get chocolate covered bananas here as well as some other novelty treats. The ice cream flavors were the classic ones and tasted fresh and delicious. There’s room for seating inside.”

“I grew up on E pels, they would come to my middle and high schools, the firework shows, swap meets, you name it! E pel was and is a huge part of my childhood. I left the desert 10 years ago and find myself still regularly thinking about these today. I’ve never found anything that comes close to my beloved drinks, and they will be the first thing I search out when I come back for a visit. Give them a try, you don’t forget it, in my opinion they are a desert staple not to be missed.”

“We recently moved to Cathedral City from New Jersey and have been making it a point to try as many local restaurants as possible. China 8 was our latest stop, and overall we had a pleasant experience.

The service was friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. We started with the fried potstickers, which were crispy and enjoyable. The egg drop soup wasn't our favorite, as it included corn, which was a little different from what we're used to, but it was still a nice start to the meal.

For our entrées, we had the Chicken with Snow Peas and the Chicken & Broccoli in Garlic Sauce. The snow peas were fresh and crisp, and the chicken was tender. The garlic sauce dish was packed with flavor and definitely had some heat to it—more than we expected—but it was well prepared and made with fresh ingredients.

While China 8 hasn't quite replaced our longtime favorite Chinese restaurant back in New Jersey, it was a solid meal and one we enjoyed. We would definitely come back and explore more of the menu, especially now that we know to ask for milder spice levels on some dishes.

If you're looking for a dependable neighborhood Chinese restaurant with friendly service and generous portions, China 8 is worth a visit.”
