“I chanced on this place from a person I met at a bar downtown DHS. Looks kinda trashy from the outside but don't judge this book by its cover. The best Karaoke experience I've ever had and I do it a lot. A real stage, stage lighting, smoke machines and friggin A, an actual guitar player who looks like Mick Mars playing along if he knows the song and he seemed to know them all! I sang Black Keys, Deep Purple and The Who so right up his alley. Redd was impressed enough that he bought me a shot after I sang The Seeker, never had a DJ buy me a drink! Both the bartenders were super nice and drinks were really inexpensive so this place freaking rocks. Great crowd too, lots of really friendly locals. And also get this, the place has several pool tables, the longest shuffleboard I've ever seen and dog friendly too!”

“The ice cream here is simply outstanding. They offer an impressive variety of flavors, from classic vanilla and chocolate to unique creations like tiramisu paletas and cookie sandwiches. Each scoop was creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor. I particular loved the churro sundae, which was the perfect sweet.”

“A wonderful addition to Palm Springs. We especially love that Bougainvillea is locally owned and family-run, which gives the restaurant a warm, personal feel.

The menu is creative and interesting, with a terrific blend of Italian, Mexican, and Latin influences. We started with the calamari, which was outstanding—unique, beautifully flavored, and unlike any version we’ve had before. My husband had the white Bolognese, and I had the al pastor pork chop. Both dishes were excellent and packed with flavor. The service was perfect.

From start to finish, everything was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. It’s exciting to have such a great new restaurant here in Palm Springs. We will absolutely be back.”

On top of that (and reflecting the values of “Mr and Mrs Frisky”), there is a “pay it forward” board where one can purchase a drink or cat visit for someone who might need some support; and a pantry box where cat food donations can be dropped off for those who can use it or who feed community cats. I recommend Frisky Business to my local friends; and it’s a must “to do” when visitors come to town. It’s a great place owned by great people.”

“I had birthday reservations at the restaurant and the experience was nothing short of amazing! The staff had a beautiful floral arrangement on the table and made me feel extra special. The food was delicious and our waiter Patrick was top tier. My dining experience was 10/10 and I was very pleased with everything!”

“Sushi Bella in Desert Hot Springs was such an unexpected find…honestly, some of the best sushi I’ve had in California, and I cannot believe I found it all the way out in the desert.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The nigiri was beautifully cut and buttery, the specialty rolls were generous without being overloaded, and the crispy shrimp hand roll was ridiculously satisfying. Even with some of the richer sauces and toppings, the fish still remained the star of the meal.

It’s a small, unassuming spot, which somehow makes the experience even better. You walk in expecting a casual neighborhood sushi restaurant and end up having a meal that easily competes with places I’ve eaten at in Los Angeles.

Fresh fish, great portions, really delicious combinations, and absolutely worth seeking out if you’re anywhere near Desert Hot Springs or Palm Springs. This was one of those wonderful food discoveries that makes traveling so much fun. I will 100% be back.”
