Sadly this place has closed. A 3 day notice to quit or pay rent has been posted on the door.

They are once again closed until 5/1. Too bad. It was a great dining experience. The food, service and ambiance were all great.

Out front of their restaurant and they are closed. Visiting from out of town, love this place so much but no updates on your website, here on Yelp or other sites mentioning you're closed. Very disappointing as I love supporting this amazing place but the lack of signs and other updates is really really shitty.

Went back to Yiannis in late Dec. 2021. Very disappointed. Price was much higher. They charge everything extra, including little pita bread. Paid almost $200 for 4. Went out to look for more food after leaving YannisWill not recommend this restaurant

Yiannis is open, THANK GOD! This restaurant literally gives me life. I was broken when they closed for the season. Very traditional greek food - if you've been, you feel like you're on a greek island (despite being right off 111!) I love the roasted red peppers and grilled eggplant side. Come here for a big family style meal, you won't regret it. Anyone who gives this place less than 5 starts just doesn't get it!!

The store and restaurant were supposedly open according to website. We walked into the little Greek grocery and found the prices to be extremely high and random. I can buy these same items on the Internet and at other Mediterranean stores for so much less. The man came out from the kitchen and told us to call him when ready to check out and disappeared. No welcome. No how did you find us? Do you have any questions? After spending over $100 - no thank you or come again. No need to ever return, especially if you know Greek products and the prices. A major disappointment.

How this gets such high reviews is beyond me. The service is just ok, the food is just ok, the menu is way overpriced and the atmosphere lacking. We ordered dolmades, spanakopita and hummus all very traditional staples. The dolmades tasted ok but they literally fell apart because they were overstuffed, you could not pick them up; the spanakopita was strangely huge and had way too much cheese; though the hummus was ok you don't get bread with it, you have to order separately for an extra cost... really? Greek food is one of our favorites but this place was so overpriced and so meh we will not be returning.

It's the best Greek food I've had locally. Unfortunately, the hostess (I'm assuming she's an owner, otherwise she'd be fired) is so unpleasant and surly that it really taints the whole experience. Greeks are famous for their hospitality...at least when I visited Greece. Not so much here. Judging by the photos on the wall this is not the first iteration of Yianni's. The hostess has probably been doing this for years, clearly hates her job and it rubs off on the customers. I've eaten there 3 times in the last 3 months with the same negative vibe. Such a shame.

Delicious Greek food. It's much better than any Greek food I could get in the Bay Area. The spanakopita and dolmas were phenomenal.

This place Asks any ambience, the food is mediocre....at best....meatballs were very dry, mousaka was limp and without flavor...and for all this, they charge you outrageous prices....we were a party of 8 and all agreed that it was awful..

All wonderful!! Delicious Greek food and wonderful kind hearted service! Get the mezze for $38 pp and get like kings and queens! You all are the best!

This is a real find in the Coachella Valley! They have a market with lots of Greek specialties and a traditional Greek menu that is perfect for dining in or take out. Their prices -- especially for the portions -- are amazing, the wine list, while small, offers great bargains on very enjoyable Greek wines, and the vibe is amazing... it's a family-run place through and through and their is humor, a casual atmosphere, and a real passion for their customers. This is not another trendy PS restaurant -- it is a family place with amazing food, a great time, and absolutely no pretension. Hungry? Order their meze and be prepared to be overwhelmed with food. Opa! (NOTE: Yelp has this listed as permanently closed. It is NOT. It's closed for the season and Yianni is updating their opening date on their FB page -- check it out. The building's owner is selling the building, so there are listing signs, which is confusing. )

I sure hope they open again soon. There is a for sale sign up but maybe they are renters. I will be very sad if it doesn't open back up. I think the food is very good and the market is also. The service is just fine, the owner isn't fake with smiles, she works hard and makes sure you get what you need. I hope they aren't returning because people did not appreciate them. A fantastic family run place to enjoy.

This small funky location is the perfect spot for a Greek taverna, including the leafy outdoor patio. As Greek food goes in the U.S., this place is par for the course. A bit overcooked, low on herbs and spices, but given the charming setting, it was almost worth the visit. But saving the worst for the last, every single time we ate there we had to deal with the scowling lady and her very unwelcoming husband. Ironic because we live very close to their other restaurant, in Palm Desert, which we stopped going to because of the unpleasantness of this couple. Then we make the drive to Cathedral City to enjoy the outside dining space and there they are again. Our 3rd visit will be the last. This time it wasn't just the unpleasant welcome. We were rejected. We were a party of 3 and when she saw us she waved us back towards the front door saying she only had tables of 2 available. When we asked if there was a bar area we could wait at, all we got was "NO". When we hesitated, as if we were trying to find a solution, she added emphatically "And I am NOT going to shove two tables together!". We hadn't asked her to do that, but she was so crabby, that was it. Though their website says they will be back from vacation in September, there is now a big Real Estate sign hanging off the side of the building. Hope someone more welcoming takes advantage of this nice setting.

Hate to see the best in Greek food gone! For sale signs went up and doors are closed. I pray everyone in this family run business is healthy.
