Visited Duckies twice on our recent trip to cayucos and found the crab cakes tasty but served tepid both times we visited! The oysters on the half shell were very small and I felt not worth $15.00 for 6. I asked if they were large and I never got an answer! Last time for us!

We were visiting antique shops and came to Cayucos to visit Remember When. A quick look at Google and I saw all the rave reviews for Duckies so we walked over to check it out. We ordered the Manhattan chowder, fish and chips, shrimp and chips and garlic fries. The service was incredibly fast. Despite the reviews it was not the best chowder. It wasn't bad, but had few clams and lacked flavor, except salt. The fish and shrimp were good, but a bit salty. The garlic fries were excellent. They should offer to upgrade the chips to garlic fries. The location was good, right next to the pier.

Cozy, seaside view with plenty of seating and classic seafood options. Prices are what you would expect, nothing too pricey. We went with fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. The fish was fresh and the portions are big. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to relax and eat a meal by the beach. Seating is mostly inside but the windows are wide open so perhaps there is also seating on the sidewalk.

The best clam chowders (New England and Manhattan and seafood sampler. And their tarter sauce is so good! Came here 35 years ago and now again with the next generation to carry on the tradition of the coastal clam chowder and fresh fish experience.
We have eaten at this restaurant before so we thought it was a safe bet for some takeout. To say we were there on an "off night" is an understatement. We ordered the shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and onion rings. OMG! It was horrible. The shrimp and fish in the tacos were rubbery and difficult to chew. I felt like it might be a recipe for food poisoning so I tried to feed it to the dogs-- even they spit it out. When I opened the box of onion rings, there was a collective chorus of "yuck!!!" from everyone at the table. I don't know who was working that night but Duckies lost my business. You can't charge people for garbage in a box. Sorry

I've been going to Duckies for years!! After covid, most eateries were struggling. So when I visited I was disappointed in Duckies. This year.....Duckies is amazing!!! I had the best red chowder (Manhattan) I've ever had in my life ? and possibly the only place to get it on the West Coast. This place is a "Must go!" spot and destination!

We happened to chance on this place since I wanted calamari, but when I saw they had fried shrimp and chips I was torn. They suggested I get a combo plate of both calamari and shrimp. Perfect! We also ordered red manhattan calm chowder in a bread bowl. The serving of manhattan chowder was a good amount, served in a pasta sized bowl which held the bread bowl filled with chowder. No soup went to waste. The combo plate was excellent, I'm not fond of heavily fried / breading shrimps. The shrimps were lightly breaded and fried which let the seafood shine. Same with the calamari, plus the calamari were juicy soft chunks. We were so happy with our food. I'm glad the lady suggested the combo plate. The little place had indoor and outdoor sitting. You order up front and take your number plaque to a table of your choice. We sat outside in the spring weather. And the observant busboy was right at our elbow when we got up with our finished plates, handed them off the busboy. We do recommend this place and would be back!

Always consistent good. Drive from Atascadero to Duckies on a regular basis just for chowder. So good, and hits the spot on a cold day.

I like this place so much that this is the second time I’ve left a review. In fact I like this place so much we ate here twice today. The place is clean and inviting. The food service is quick and they have good beer on tap. The prices are reasonable, and the food is always delicious. I particularly like the blackened fishbowl.

*Location is great, next to the pier. *The restaurant is large, with indoor and outdoor door seating. *All the workers are welcoming and constantly circulating around the restaurant. *Fish and Chips: Fish didn't seem fresh. The dill tarter was good. The chips (fries) needed a little more seasoning and cook time. *Clam Chowder in a Bread Bowl: Clam Chowder was dominated by a flour taste, then finish of cream. The Bread Bowl could've been toasted. *Great location, cool restaurant, and great workers. The food needs a little TLC*

Duckie's is located right off the pier. It's a cute, clean, small little restaurant with plenty of seating in and outside. It looks like it use to have an ocean view but now they are building something right in front of it. Prices are a little below some of the other places I have been to. The staff were wonderful and efficient. They were constantly moving around the restaurant and cleaning tables. Overall the food was okay. I ordered the fish and chips. It was basic. Just okay. The fries got cold fast but were good. The clam chowder was not good. Great presentation but didn't have much flavor. I wouldn't go back especially with so many great seafood restaurants.
