Overpriced, cash only (avoiding taxes much?), scowling rude bartender. Won't be coming back for more of this (mis-)treatment. ?

I've loved this place for 42 years. I show up every 2 or 3 years with my wife. This year it's closed no reason. Towns people say it opens every so often.
I came down to purchase sweat shirts and t shirts. The web site says it's open. Well that was a waste off gas and time. Wouldn't be I big deal but I live 58 miles from Canada in Washington state.

Unfortunately this historic tavern is no longer in business.
Dissapointed it wasn't open when I got there at about 7pm. I'd like to play cards or pool, so I'm bummed. I'll give them another chance and change my review if so.

Very chill place to take a break from the beach and enjoy a cold beverage. Cash-only--luckily my friend had some on him (this old millennial rarely does ;). Friendly bar tender, very cool ambiance, old west/neighborhood bar. Interesting ceiling decorations lol! Definitely will stop by again next time I'm in Cayucos, and I'll bring cash:)
WOW....it was like stepping back in time ?. imagining all the gunfights that took place there it's amazing how it was preserved. Good drive ks and ice old beer too definitely will be back with friends !!

Came by after a year away and they were closed yet this says they are open. I hope they are it is really a great stop. ❤️❤️❤️
