It’s just a local spot. They always have coffee, the people are very, very friendly and the food is good enough. Not great but good enough. And they are fast and you can sit in a booth or you can sit on the patio. If you’re on the patio, you can have your dog with you. We love the sea shanty and come here often.

Grabbed lunch here with a bunch of my friends which they accommodated to. The staff was very friendly and helpful since a few of us had complicated orders (so sorry to the staff on my behalf). But the food was delicious, cleaned my plate right off. A lot of compliments heard around the table. And the restaurant itself is such a nice spot with really cool decor. Definitely worth a visit.

My mom and I go here for lunch about once a month. Best time to go is during the week after the lunch time crowd has gone. Wonderful atmosphere, very relaxing, wait staff is very attentive/helpful. The food is wonderful and tasty. I always get the same thing, while mom gets something different every time.

This is the place to eat in Cayucos! The food is wonderful, service exceptional and the desserts are amazing. We ate there four times and were always pleased with the experience. Even a takeaway lunch was a lovely presentation of a sandwich and fruit. Sea Shanty is locally owned, has heaters for outside patio, and a terrific chef and staff. We did wait for a table once, so I'd make reservationa in peak season.

One of the most popular places in this area, be ready to wait for a table on Friday or Saturday night. Food is good, some positions are better and some are average. Fish tacos and fish&chips were good. Interesting interior with lots of vintage details.
The service was great! They catered to our dog and other dogs ....... They brought ours a water dish and another person's dog a blanket to lay on 😁

A great find in Cayucos. One is always a bit cautious finding dining places in beachside towns, fearing overprice, average food and lousy service. Not at the Sea Shanty. This is the real deal: Honest, fresh, simple offerings served by friendly, competent staff. The clam chowder is excellent. Just the right consistency and a solid clam taste (so often, at other places it has too much cream, masking the clam flavor). A joy to have it hear. The fish and chips were great, and the baby back ribs small order was huge and delicious -- just the right amount of smoke and just a hint of sauce that allowed the flavor of the smoked ribs to shine. Nothing pretentious of phony about the Sea Shanty. I look forward to returning.

Decent food for decent prices. Poor customer service from 16 year olds running around. Nobody greeting customers, many workers hiding behind the bar, used to be a regular spot but will likely not return after this experience unfortunately

Best restaurant we’ve eaten at when visiting Cayucos! Fish & chips dinners were GREAT! We both got the small fish & chips and couldn’t finish it all. I’m not a fan of French fries but theirs are awesome! We shared the strawberry shortcake that they are famous for and it was the BEST we’ve ever had and it was HUGE! Definitely will be back!
