So. Many. Flies. Gross. I don't know why we stayed. Service was slow. Food was mediocre but priced as though it was not. Definitely pass on this place!

I was expecting just a basic diner, but it was way nicer than I thought. Had a real good breakfast, and the coffee was defenitely fresh, not burned or anything. They have a little gift shop too, which I thought would be silly... but thier jam selection was actually really good. Would recomend to anyone driving through who wants a solid, uncomlicated meal.

I have been staying in a cabin nearby Cedarville, Ca for a month. I have eaten at Country Hearth at least 10 times this month. The reason I keep going back is because the food, atmosphere, and service are always outstanding. The prices are also very reasonable. It is mainly the standard menu with many burger, chicken, fish and steak offerings and some Mexican entrees, but the cooking is always great making the meal a treat every time. I have been traveling to various locations across the USA for a month at a time on AirBnB for the past 2 years. I don't usually eat out as often as I did here but I usually check out a few local restaurants at each stay. This has been my favorite. If you are ever around Cedarville it is definitely worth a stop.

It’s a good place to eat, but don’t trust the hours. The hours are not correct response I received staying open doesn’t pay the bills and got hung up on when I ask if they were open. Apparently they don’t like to be questions when you ask them if they could look at there hours and update for future customers that sometimes hours of closing happens before the closing time and not always the same. But, no the response I got was unprofessional.

Country Hearth is the best restaurant in Northern California, and Cedarville is an adorable town with lots of nice shops.

Tried to go in there on Saturday night at 8:00.
Stood there for about 3 to 4 minutes before they finally came out from behind the counter only to tell us that they closed in 20 minutes.
But the sign on the door said 9:00
I asked her about that and she says oh well we've changed it we close at 8:30 now.
This is becoming typical of restaurants in Modoc County. Having owned property there for the last 30 plus years and my father for over 60 years I have to say that a lot of places now if they don't recognize you as a local you're going to be treated as a second class citizen.

Unfortunately this place has really gone down hill. The food all tastes like grease, grease was seeping out of my omelette that was like soup inside. the donuts seemed to be over a week old. The time to get food is not even worth the wait. Was served a stale cinnamon roll. To be honest it has been years since I have been here we used to make a special trip just for the donuts they were fresh and delicious.
