Nice and friendly service. It's average peruvian cuisine. The food and drink orders came out very quickly. TV on one side of you want to drink and watch the game. The other side is quieter to have personal conversations.

Do you like Lomo Saltado?

El Rocoto is the place. They do a Saltado 3 different ways and they all rock. The traditional with Angus Beef, one with Chicken, and Mariscos which is seafood. That seafood mix is really good with a mixture of shrimp, calamari, and even scallops on the shell.

The ambiance is really nice and the servers are all hustling to get you your food and drink. Some restaurants give you the chips and salsa, el rocotto gives you fresh bread with a sauce that is so delicious

The good here used to be so good and I was super excited but.. today, the lomo saltado fell short. This is my favorite Peruvian spot so I hope it was just a one off.... the service was also very slow considering there were only 3 tables...

I’m from Peru and love cooking. This restaurant lacks the authentic Peruvian flavors. I really wanted to like the food here, since it was the first Peruvian restaurant I tried in Los Angeles, California, but you can tell they don’t have Peruvian chefs. We ordered 5 different dishes and none of them were delicious.. just ok. Our bill was $176 without tips.. Too expensive.. for the quality and authenticity of the food.

First time eating Peruvian food, but not the last. Asked our server, Ingrid, for recommendations and she definitely hit a home run with us. We had a wonderful meal with enough food to feed an army. The food is absolutely amazing and Ingrid was kind, patient, and an amazing host. We will be back when we return to SoCal. If you are in Cerritos, do yourself a favor and earn here!

El Rocoto is a true Peruvian gem! From the moment you sit down, you’re welcomed with warm bread and their signature aji sauces (the green one is addictive). We ordered the Lomo Saltado and the Sudado de Pescado, and both dishes were bursting with flavor—the beef was tender, the fish perfectly cooked, and the sauces had just the right balance of spice and tang.

The menu is extensive, featuring everything from fresh ceviches to traditional desserts like picarones. The restaurant has a casual yet cozy atmosphere, and the service is attentive without rushing you.

If you’re craving authentic Peruvian comfort food, this is the spot. Definitely coming back for the ceviche sampler next time!

Very friendly, cultural and bi lingual.
They did make a slight mistake on my order and asked them if it can get corrected. I mentioned in detail that the meat served was different and without hesitation they took it back to the kitchen and made it look like the mistake never happened. Perfecto! Gracias por el esfuerzo! 👌🤌
