This is the Cerritos outlet of Gyu Kaku Japanese BBQ. The cuts of meat are of good quality but the price is higher than other decent Asian BBQ joints with similar quality cuts. Also the service is rather less attentive and you have to wave for service. They do offer some Japanese side dishes such as tacoyaki and karaage. It is a decent place to enjoy good cuts of meat on your own grill.
Parking: Plenty

The worst service ever. We reserved a table a week in advance and when we arrived they tell us to wait 25 mins. After 25 mins they tell us they don't hold tables for anyone. Absolutely does not make sense to take a Reservation if you won't hold the table.

First of all, big shout out to Michael and his crew, service is definitely top tier!l I use to be a big KBBQ and would always go to Gxns down the stree...never again. This will always be my go to spot. Showed up last minute for my daughters bday and they still took really good care of us. Asides from that, unlike the kbbo spots, this location is never stuffy and smokey, you could really enjoy your meal without feeling suffocated. Ingredients taste so fresh There's just so much positive things to say, you just have to experience it for yourself.
NO RESERVATIONS NEEDED.

No wait time when we arrived. However, the service and food quality lacks. The food was meh & our waiter basically forgot about us after the first round and we waited 20+ minutes for anyone to come offer us. Waiters would pass by and see us waiting and wouldn’t approach. The meat quality was bland. One time deal and that’s it . I’d much rather wait for over an hour for the Korean bbq place across the road.

I experienced the worst customer service and blatant racism in this restaurant. I came to celebrate my 21st birthday on a Tuesday, The server, Yen Yen , had a prepositioned idea about us before we arrived. On top of a horrendous attitude and lack of service, she overcharged us 300+ dollars on a tab that was supposed to be 50 each. After asking for the manager, he insinuated that our table of 8 were lying and his server hadn't made a mistake. Worse BBQ experience, and overall saddened by the racism experienced on my birthday. Shame on you Gyu Kyu and company, take your business elsewhere if you're Latino or Black. You'll experience racism.

Tucked away in the corner of the strip mall. I've come here a handful of times, and every single time has been a great experience. While this place is pricier than Gen, they offer more in terms of sides and quality of meat. I've tried the different price points and can say that no matter which one you pick, you won't be disappointed. Remember to save room for ice cream or s'mores at the end.

From the moment we walked in, at opening, everything was amazing. The lady who was the hostess was funny and kind. Our server Chloe was incredible and on par with all her suggestions. The food was served in perfect portions and marinated perfectly. Would immediately say yes to returning and suggesting the place. By the time we were done the place was busy and rightfully so with how good it was.

Better than gen but more expensive
I use to love love love Gyu-Kaku. I would come to this one every couple of weeks, and always looked forward to it.............. But that was then. More recently it is good, but not the wow it used to be. The chili miso wings use to be the best one ever had, this time I couldn't even finish a whole one, but tried 3-4. The server was very friendly. My bill was $100 for 2 people, and although the food was alright, I don't think I will look to visit this location anymore. Good luck to you if you plan to visit, hopefully you disagree with my review.

We are seniors, they sat us down and waited about twenty minutes before anyone came over to take our order, the hostess, the waitress and waiter were not very friendly at all, after dinner they did not offer the s’mores, we missed out on that, they brought us the bill and was double the amount of what we ordered, we had been here before and we had good experience, as if they intentionally gave us the wrong bill, did not recognize any of the previous waitresses or waiters, disappointed with the service, my wife doesn’t want to go back to this place again, very odd night, am afraid I agree with her
