grubhub driver said that the coffee i ordered was handed to him in a plastic bag (?). he asked for something more secure and claims that island bodega didn't give him anything. so naturally the coffee spills in the bag. i got only a fraction of the refund deserved from Grubhub but can't contact them because they already issued a refund even though it's too small for some reason. tried calling island bodega and went straight to voicemail so i can't help them remedy this problem. you just lost a lifetime customer

I will no longer be supporting this place,,,I was trapped in their restroom earlier tonight for over an hour due to a broken door handle and door. Such a terrible feeling. There was no sense of urgency to get me out. Felt very angry after.

Plenty of parking and cute decor inside. Staff was patient but seemed oblivious to what they were serving.
Strawberries were bruised and brown bananas were served. I had to point it out for them to change the bad bananas out. It's great to be efficient; I saw the staff precut a banana to prepare for the next customer, but they should cover it if they leave it unattended. Anything could have landed on it while they were gone.
Bases are on the sweet side so I wouldn't add honey if I ever return.
Blue chia pudding was good. Not a lot of toppings to choose from.

Cute little place at the corner, along Gen and 85 degrees side. This is a good place for acai bowls! It's like chipotle style (point-point joint or turo-turo haha) where you can pick what you want in your bowl or order their preset one. If you're like me and don't onow much about granola, seeds, etc, then just get the preset bowls. I think it was called "Sunrise" bowl, but it had mango in it, that was good. The only thing I'll take out from that was the peanut butter haha. Anyway, this place made us feel healthy just by walking in.:)
