I visited Northern Cafe in Cerritos and would rate it around 2.5 out of 5.
I went around 4 p.m. when it wasn’t busy, yet it still took over 10 minutes for the food to come out.
We ordered four dishes: 1. A3: Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (the one I was most looking forward to) 2. Beef Roll 3. Dan Dan Noodles 4. Xiao Long Bao
The biggest disappointment was the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup. Despite being labeled as “hot,” the broth was barely lukewarm. The beef tasted soggy, like it had been sitting around for a while, and the handmade noodles lacked any bounce or chewiness.
The other dishes were just average in flavor, but overall, the freshness and quality of the food—and the service—were quite poor.
Honestly, I left feeling very disappointed and don’t see myself coming back.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Northern Cafe in Cerritos, and it’s quickly become a new favorite! The food was absolutely delicious—flavorful, authentic, and well-prepared. The portion sizes were huge, perfect for a family meal, and everything we ordered was spot-on. The service was also top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff that made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for great Chinese food. Definitely coming back!

Food is way too off. Their house special noodles taste so soft likes instant noodles. They used to make the noodle fresh there. I also ordered sliced noodles with chicken, potatoes is overcooked, sauce is lacking authenticity, and chicken does not taste fresh.

Most authentic Chinese food in the area. If you get chow mein, it may ruin Panda Express for you. Their Biang Biang noodles were my favorite and love the beef roll or even just the green onion pancakes. Try the green beans even if you don't like green beans.

We ordered three bowls of noodles and a side of dumplings. Two of the noodle dishes were supposed to come with flat noodles. What arrived looked off, but we assumed it was just overcooked. Looking at it again, looked like it came out of someone's mouth.
I tried eating it, but with every bite, it looked and tasted worse. My wife’s bowl was the same with noodles falling apart into small mushy pieces every time we picked them up with chopsticks.
Then I noticed a long noodle in my bowl, white on one end, dark and discolored on the other. That’s when it hit me: these were reused noodles, boiled twice, possibly from another table or even the night before.
We didn’t want to make a scene. I quietly showed the waitress what was wrong and the pieces that had soaked up soy sauce unevenly. She didn’t apologize. Instead, she started taking photos of the bowl and said very little.
Eventually, she said she’d take my dish off the bill, but not my wife’s, even though her bowl had the exact same issue. I even pointed out a big clump of stuck-together noodles, but can't loose too much money right?
It felt like she knew what happened, but didn’t want to admit it. No apology. Just silence and a partial refund.
I didn't even argue. I felt disgusted by the food and staff and just wanted to leave. hope I don’t get sick from eating leftover food.
Don’t let bad decisions ruin your reputation.

Stellar service and delicious authentic food. I went as a solo diner and the server was incredibly kind and attentive without disturbing me at all! The food was good, a bit heavy and salty for most but absolutely what I expected from a Sichuanese restaurant. The server also informed me of this beforehand.
Prices were unbelievable for the area. $15 for a large, deep, noodle bowl with perfectly cooked noodles, fresh bok choi, and perfectly stewed chunks of beef. Everything served piping hot. I will definitely be back!

So very disappointed with this establishment yesterday May 4th we came in with about 10 of us for my daughter’s 18th birthday celebration which it has become a tradition for the last two years for us to come and eat here, with our party we spent over $450 dollars. For them to just flip my daughter’s cake upside down! It completely ruined it for all of as we’re celebrating her birthday. Not even an apology did we get! They actually laughed at us when we commented it to them. Definitely never coming back. Only the one male server was actually sympathetic for the incident.
