One of my favorite restaurants, though I wish they were open on Tuesdays.

Disappointing Experience with Management

I recently visited Pasta-e-Pasta in Cerritos with friends for dinner. While the food was quite good, the experience was ruined by the behavior of the manager, a man with tattoos on both arms. He was incredibly rude throughout our meal, bumping into me twice without offering an apology. At one point, he even intentionally bumped my chair and failed to say "excuse me."

To make matters worse, my friend noticed him glaring at me with an unpleasant attitude. As a first-time customer, I expected a more courteous and professional demeanor, especially from the management. This type of behavior is unacceptable, and it left a bad impression.

Unfortunately, due to this unpleasant experience, I won’t be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant to others. It's a shame because the food itself was enjoyable, but the lack of respect and professionalism from the staff overshadowed it.

I don't think the manager is Japanese. If he were, I’ve never encountered a rude Japanese person before. They're usually very polite and welcoming, but this guy is just a complete jerk.

Drove 30 minutes and got there around 8:35 and they said they couldn't seat us because their kitchen closed at 8:30. The posted closing time was 9:00. Asked them if we could order a pasta to-go but they said no. Please update your hours on Google so customers don't go through something like this. It ruined my evening.

Like some people mentioned, the guy with tattoos was super rude and disrespectful to customer. The worst service I've ever had at restaurant.

Authentic Japanese pasta chain from Osaka. It was the former space of Geko Tei and which is a welcome change as we needed some variety in this town.

People complained about the noise here but which is not an issue as this is NOT a DATING restaurant, this is meant to be a dining place, a family/friends gathering place thus noise is understandable.

The food - its great, pasta is really au dente. One of the best ones outside of Japan, also beats many of those so-called Italian restaurants in LA/OC areas. Definitely have edge on their creamy pasta (like shrimp and spinach pasta), mentaiko pasta are my favorites. I had meat sauce the first time which was not my favorite. Comes with a free bread and salad.

Service is excellent, typical Japanese hospitality, very warm and friendly.

They do stop accepting customers early (like ~ 730pm-8pm) if there are too many people waiting so come early.

ordered my food over the phone. spoke with a nathan who was surprisingly personable. i say this because most of the time, the person on the other line is lk rude & always in a rush to hang up the phone- but this was not so with nathan. because of him, i already felt good about ordering dinner from pasta e pasta for the first time. i asked him what he preferred bc i was indecisive between the uni and the mentai pasta. he recommended i try the mentai and i was very pleased with it. it was very flavorful, and not salty like some pasta. my husband ordered the bacon and mushroom pasta which i also enjoyed picking off of. our order came with complimentary salad and bread.

i will definitely come back, but maybe next time- i will dine in.

They need to have a waiting zone or even a bench outside. I had to wait outside in 80 degree standing when I was there at 5pm (just open for dinner and no one was inside), even though I told them my other party will be here in 5 minutes.

An intimate space but the food was so tasty and the service was awesome. Very attentive and quick. Ever have a waiter and almost immediately you know you want to tip them well? That was my experience last night. From the server to the chef/cook running the food. Would come again for food and service

My wife and I do love a good Italian dish, and aren't we lucky to have two fantastic
Italian restaurants close to our house.
Pasta e Pasta was a lovely surprise with the fusion of Japanese and Italian gastronomy. I had the Uni with a creamy sauce, a perfect marriage to the al dente pasta. If I had to change anything I would have added a pinch more of salt to give a little bit more salinity to the uni. My wife decided she wanted a creamy dish and she decided for Carbonara which happens to be my go to Italian dish. The Carbonara had this amazing smoked bacon/ham giving the dish a wonderful kick. With that said, I would add a tad more cream making the dish a bit more saucy. The pricing was fair as it also included bread and a salad with delicious dressing. The place is fairly small, and it fills up in no time, so expect a line of hungry foodies. Highly recommend.

Great good great service. Didn't have to wait long and everything was so delicious. The mushroom bacon pasta was so good I traded my uni pasta with hubby. The crab gratin was very interesting with the smoke cheese on the top? Have been craving Japanese style pasta and this just totally hit the spot.

It's been a while since I had Japanese-style, and this place did not disappoint! The Arrabbiata was nice and spicy. Heck, everything was great! The Beefy Ragu was what I got. The meat was soft, but if it was softer, it'd be PERFECT! The spaghetti had a nice bit of springiness, and was SUPER thin! Very nice! Also had a bit of smokiness to it. I liked it! On top of that, they offered more Parmesan or chilli flakes too! AWESOME!!!
The interior does sort of remind me of a retro-style Japanese place serving up Western food. ?? I'd come back again!

The pastas were delicious. We got the mentai japanese cream sauce pasta , uni sea urchin pasta, and arrabiata. Arrabiata was good because it had spicy tomato sauce with bacon and olives. I would def come back to try Nero di sepia squid ink pasta.
