Dirty seats and trash all over the places. Food is horribly cut, different sizes of tofu and carrots. Overpriced for the level of service, cleanness, and quality of food. Everything unorganized, the online and all things describing are different then the vibe you feel in the restaurant…

I got the seafood shabu and it was delicious. The lyche sakitini was so good. And service was amazing. Really enjoyed the experience.

I recently dined at Yuzu Shabu and Grill in Cerritos, and overall, it was a fantastic experience with just a few minor hiccups. Nestled in a popular food area, the first challenge I encountered was finding parking during peak meal hours. It's definitely worth considering arriving early or carpooling if you can. Once inside, the restaurant's cozy ambiance and friendly staff helped to set the stage for a delightful dining experience. I was promptly seated at one of their spacious tables, but I also noticed a vibrant bar area equipped with a handy heater for cooking. For my main course, I opted for the large brisket sukiyaki with raw egg, and I must say, it was a delectable choice. The tender slices of brisket paired perfectly with the broth and the raw egg added a creamy richness that elevated the dish to another level. Each bite was bursting with savory goodness, leaving me completely satisfied. One thing I'd like to highlight is the restaurant's Yelp promotion. By checking in on Yelp, I received a generous $3.00 off on my choice of soda or beer. It's a nice little perk that adds value to the overall dining experience. While the parking situation and potential wait times during peak hours can be a challenge, the delicious food and friendly service at Yuzu Shabu and Grill make it well worth a visit. I highly recommend trying their sukiyaki, and don't forget to take advantage of the Yelp discount for a refreshing beverage to complement your meal.

we came here because our favorite shabu place in little Tokyo closed down in October. this used to be a good second choice place but I have to say that we were disappointed this time around. the rice (both white and brown) were not cooked enough. we ordered the special for two which used to be a great deal but I'm not sure if it is anymore. the wagyu meat was good but really fatty and the Angus beef was kind of tough. disappointing that these were premium meats. sorry yuzu that i took away a star. on the plus side is that you get tons of assorted veggies, an appetizer and your choice of broth. and they still offer a discount on a drink when you check in on Yelp, although in the past, it was a free drink. still it's not a bad choice for shabu.

I really enjoyed the meat here. The broth was also really good and the cocktails are very affordable. My biggest issues are with the slow service and that they had construction going on at 7pm on a Friday. It's very odd to have ear piercing drilling happening while eating dinner. We were doing the AYCE and when trying to order more meat it felt like we were waiting a long time and they seemed to be out of a bunch of things. I'd probably come back again because of the quality of the meat but hopefully the service improves and they're no longer under construction.

Listen... I'm in the minority for shabu overall. I feel like it's too much work and I left feeling EXHAUSTED. Plus we tipped. Lol! The rule is, if one person orders AYCE (all you can eat), the entire table must order AYCE. So AYCE it is. I think the order in which the food came out threw us off. This was our first time here and in a long time overall for shabu so we were confused little birds who didn't know any better. They offer The vegetables came out first. In they go into the broth. Then the noodles, I ordered ramen. It took a while for the meat and rice to come out so my veggies and ramen were just bathing in the miso and bone broth for way too long. I didn't have anywhere to put them because the rice bowl came out last. Our server was nice, he was super busy the entire time so was difficult to attend to all tables, all the time. We made sure to ask for things when he rounded but man were we thirsty from the salty broth and sauces! Our drinks/water kept running low. Everything I tried was good, on the salty side. The dipping sauces were the star of the show! I especially liked the peanut one that apparently contains no peanuts. Lol. The steam from the hot pot kept blowing in our faces, I think that's normal. But it got hot. It was not as relaxing, it was more like I picked up a shift at work. This wouldn't be my first choice for dinner, but I can see why it would be for most. It's definitely a conversational starter with your entire party but it's a no thank you for me.

This is an update from my first review of this restaurant. The first review I gave them a five star!So let me just start off by saying how disappointed I am to update my review and now give this place a one star. This was literally one of my favorite Shabu spots, but I could not even understand their level of customer service yesterday. So, my boyfriend and I came in for the first time in a really long time! It was a party of 2. We came in literally 30 minutes after they opened. There were 2 parties there at the time. 1 party at the bar, and 1 at a table. I hate sitting at the bars, so I asked if we could sit at a table. They directed us to basically this half table in a corner of the room. At first it would have been fine, but they way she said it, made it seem as if this table was right next to a dump or something (of course it wasn't). But that immediately throws off the vibe. Mind you, they just opened! There is nobody there! So, I asked if we can sit at a bigger table, because I always end up ordering a bunch of extra stuff. She said no, because they had to keep it open for other guests and it will fill up. I am like seriously?! There's no one here. She would not let us sit at a different table. So, when we walked over to our half table, I was like can't we just sit here? It's a table right next to it, completely empty. She said no. So now, my experience is completely off. I did not appreciate that type of customer service where I am treated as a half guest. I understand you need to keep tables open for bigger parties, but please keep in mind the vibe of your guests, as well as the room. There was no one there! So of course, we sat down and now I am in a bad mood. There is no reason to not cater to a party of 2, as if they do not matter. If it wasn't for our waitress, who I felt did a good job, I would not even have tipped at all. And I gave her 20% because I knew it was not her fault! But the manager I'm assuming who we had that interaction with needs better customer service skills. Or maybe that is Yuzu's business policy, but why is a restaurant policy to treat a party (no matter how big or small), as if they do not matter? These are the pictures I took from when we sat down, and to when we were about to leave. Does this look like it filled up? I do not think so. There were about 4-5 more parties that came in, and half the tables were not taken. Also, this table right next to where we sat (in the corner of the room), completely empty the entire time we were dining. I also took a picture of my bf, to show how small this table is, and how uncomfortable it is for him. He is a bigger guy, and he could not even comfortably enjoy the meal. This is not ok Yuzu. I was a loyal guest, but I will not be making that drive to come back anymore.

Very expensive but the portions are good and the selection is great. I like the kimchi broth with angus beef. The sukiyaki is not very sweet or strong, but otherwise it’s quite tasty.

I ordered, what I thought was a signature meat, dry aged prime ribeye. It was so disappointing. I should've taken pictures. I've ordered this item before, and it was great, but what happened this time? I would have to say the meat at Yuzu is pretty inconsistent, meaning you never know what you're going to get. The server told me it's a newly opened pack of meat and that's the way it came out. Sounds like a bunch of "bs" to me, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I should've asked the manager to change it to the premium wagyu that looked 100x's better, my friend ordered that one. I ended up ordering a side of the premium wagyu and just as I suspected it was 200% better. I should have just ordered all you can eat instead of what I got, because I paid the cost of All You Can Eat for the dry aged prime ribeye and the 4oz side of premium wagyu that I got. I go to Yuzu at least once a week and this time it was awful. So 1 star for the quality and inconsistency. Total of 2 stars today because I don't think the servers really cared, as long as they got paid. Hopefully next time the quality of the signature meats is better or I may have to take Yuzu off my Shabu list of restaurants.

Slow, very slow. We got the $48 per person premium and the meat took almost 15-20 minutes to come out. RAW meat. The veggies and even GRIlLED meat came out first before our meat. Very dissatisfying having to wait so long to eat when paying that much. The height of the counter with the chairs are very uncomfortable so heads up. Overall, I advise you to stay away. If your going to pay that much, go somewhere else worth that money.

First and last time here.. our drinks were served in chipped and broken plastic cups, different sizes even! The water tasted like dishwashing liquid so I got a lemonade and that also had a slight soapy taste. When I was served the vegetables I discovered a large slug crawling in it. They took it away and the server was extremely apologetic and gave us a 20% discount on our food. He was very nice but overall just an awful experience and super expensive for such low quality food, etc..

An exceptional dining experience. I've been here about three times post being introduced to Japanese hot pot. The service is delightful, and I would highly recommend this place for a dining experience.
