The most authentic Jamaican food in the area. My go to spot when I need a taste of home

The best pumpkin veggie soup I’ve had from a restaurant yet. I’ve been ill and my mo got me soup from there and it was delicious. I loved that it was pure with no grease or unnecessary oil. I’ll be sure to go back.

Vegetarian options: The veggie soup is delicious! Pumpkin, potatoes, carrots, onions, etc.

Ordered the small Curry chicken, a small curry goat and one beef patty and it was $52! Crazy prices for just a lot of rice and peas a few pieces of FATTY meat that was over salted, one festival and one planting. Customer service also wasn't great my daughter and I ordered our food and stood there for a long time waiting for it, a man and his son came in after us and newly placed their order and got their food before us and walked out and we were still standing there waiting. Asked for a side of Scotch bonnet sauce and it took 5 minutes just to bring me a little container. Slow service. No one greets or properly says thank you when you order your food. They should work on that and represent Jamaicans better.

It was a rough start coming to this restaurant. I came in with optimistic and positive intentions, but the person at the front desk acted like he didn’t want to even take my order as it was our first time eating there.

I clearly told him what I wanted, and he subtracting everything for what I wanted as they were two of us and I had to remind him I wanted two of what the special was, which was the oxtail Rasta pastas, and three patties. Two jerk chicken, and one beef.

The then told me it will take 20 minutes, and After that, I came and looked at the order and saw he only gave me one jerk chicken, and one beef patty as I told him I wanted two as I suggested earlier.

He looked at me like I was trying to trick him, and I reminded him what I paid for, and I will never play him, he then proceeded to just give me the one and says in patois as I walked out.

Normally, whenever I get cussed out while getting service at a restaurant, the food usually is amazing, but this food was just OK.

I know the chef did his thing making it, but I didn’t feel it was real love put into making this food as the person that just rub me the wrong way.

If you’re looking for Jamaican restaurants in the valley, I do not suggest this one.

I suggest that you make that drive into the real LA area and choose one of those options

The jerk chicken and curried goat were excellent. They could add more plantains though, one fried plantain is just not enough. The customer service was good as well.

Food was decently priced and flavorful. The chicken was a little dry but still edible. Also, I found it insane that I only received literally one slice of plantain with my jerk chicken meal. Plantain is very cheap and it felt disrespectful to only receive one slice with my entire meal.

My usual Jamaican spot is the one on Tampa in northridge but we came to this one cause the other one was closed for the day, I was really hoping this place would be good unfortunately it wasn’t my jerk chicken was dry the rice and beans dry and hard cabbage dry as well the meat bread wasn’t good either the only good thing was the plantain and the pineapple ginger drink was over powered by ginger ☹️ I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, my husband got the oxtail as a side and there was no meat just fat! He got the shrimp entree and same rice dry and shrimp wasn’t good . It was 87 bucks for this meal all for it to just go to waist !!! Also the prices aren’t even on the menu so who knows if they just threw random numbers at us anyways this place is NOT IT! I recommend the place on Tampa and northridge waaaay better and cleaner!

I have been going to this restaurant for sometime and yesterday I earned a perk ?through their reward program; which was a free side plantain, cabbage, or rice&peas. I chose the cabbage and shared it among my children. Their food is always good and the best Jamaican/Benji food in the valley!

My guy and I tried this new name, old establishment was Little Kingston. We ordered the oxtail dinner and was completely disappointed with the small amount of oxtails with a high price. We received a little meat overflowed with lots of gravy and small bones. Got home and was unsatisfied. Check your food before you leave this establishment. We will never visit this establishment again!

I had the curry shrimp and it was AMAZING! The rice and peas were perfect. I can't wait to come back for some oxtail and curry goat!

Rude, nobody wants to walk into a restaurant to get looked at funny or treated like they don’t matter. Food was great but theirs better Jamaican food in LA. Customer service is bad. It’s always the 1 guy there with the short haircut. Can’t even say welcome to the customers or say thank you for making purchases as if anyone is obligated to be there. The attitude ruins the experience, people don’t have to buy from your restaurant, the least one can do is thank the customer for spending money, or even tipping. What a blessing it is to have customers, and a running business, at least make people feel welcome!
