The best burger I've ever had, with good service and a comfortable and pleasant place. It has several types of cheeses and a corner with dressings to personalize your burger. I recommend the special house sauce that gives it a magnificent touch. The wall paintings are very nice and the price is cheaper than average

The food is good. They just don't answer the phone. I called repeatedly for 10 minutes. They either let the call go to voice mail or picked up and hung up. This often happens. So today, I drove down, ordered, waited for my food, and kept calling. They were not busy. I watched as 3 employees actively ignored the phone and talked about how "people keep calling. They even checked to see who was calling.
Super irritating. I have an 8 month old at home. I have better things to do than sit here and wait because you don't want to work. Next time you don't pick up the phone, I'm going to show up 5 minutes before you close and order a small burger and small fry just to waste your life.

Chico has a lot of burger places. Some try to be innovative, others gimmicky, and some just want to be straightforward. Big Chico Burger, if anything, I think would be in the latter category.
I've been going here since they opened the year I graduated high school in 2005, I remember because my best friend's first job was in their kitchen and so my friends and I had extra cause to drop in and have lunch or dinner. A word of advice if you're new to Chico: think twice about going during a weekday lunch time while schools are in. The lunch rush from PV students, being across the street, is insane. But that's only a brief window from around noon to 1pm, outside of that it's very reasonable to get in and out of there.
What I appreciate about this place is the quality of all of their ingredients. They cook with Angus beef which has a good flavor and texture, and just the right amount of fat. It's seasoned just right when they cook it, and never burned. The ingredients you can add to it both on and off the grill are great too: you can add bacon or Ortega chile's or mushrooms or even guacamole to cook along with it, and then once the burger's cooked you can assemble everything else how you like at the condiment bar with the usual stuff like lettuce, tomatoes, onions, but also more exciting things like things like dill pickles, pepperoncinis, jalapenos, and their excellent house sauce that's equally good on the burger as it is on the side for dipping fries or onion rings.
The restaurant itself is a little on the small side, but seating has never really been an issue. They have maybe 6-7 tables inside and another 4-5 outside on their covered patio which is usually enough, especially if you manage to avoid the rush.
As burger places go this has actually surpassed Nobby's for me, which for years entertained an almost mythic status as the best burger place in Chico. But I find that where Big Chico Burger ("BCB" as my friends and I affectionately call it) wins out is in its consistency. In nearly 20 years I've always known what to expect and have never been surprised or disappointed by what I've had.

First time there and the burgers were delicious they give you what you ordered as far as a burger and you put what you want on it at the Burger condiment station.
Parking: Close inconvenient and safe
Kid-friendliness: Do I need a space for kids and they can put what they want on their burger
Wheelchair accessibility: Large doors and walkways are safe convenient places to sit at the table

Great burger place except for the quality of the veggie burger. I invite the owner to consider offering an impossible burger for an extra charge or a nicer veggie Pattie. Your veggie patties remind me of the budget option at Costco and do not fit the quality of the rest of your ingredients. Ten percent of people in California are vegetarian or vegan.

Fries are yummy, burgers are to be expected. My issue was the employees using their phones and then continuing to cook burgers. Their are big windows where you can see everything…if preparing ready to eat food you must wear gloves and please wash your hands before continuing to touch my burger after using your phone
