“On our most recent visit to Chico we had a chance to give Sofi’z Pakistani kitchen a try. Located right downtown, Sofi’z is a nicely decorated place with a cool vibe and excellent food. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Sophia who not only told us about the menu but how the restaurant came to be.The menu covered the basics including butter chicken, channa , curries, paneer, tandoori and all the breads and sweets you would want.We ordered the channa curry, chicken biryani and butter chicken, paratha and naan for the three of us. While we waited we enjoyed a cup of chai masala that we sweetened to taste.The food itself was excellent. We really loved the Channa Curry and enjoyed both the Chicken Biryani and Butter Chicken. We finished our meal with Shahi Keer and Gujjar Ka Halwa- a carrot based sweet that was my personal favorite.Overall we really appreciated the quality of the food, the nice presentation and great service provided and highly recommend for folks that love Pakistani / Indian food or those looking for a new adventure right in the heart of Chico.”

“We had reservations today at 4:30pm and were we glad! We arrived 10 minutes before our reservations and sat in the patio. At 4:30pm my husband went in through the patio door to let them know that we were here. A older gentleman was unlocking the front door. My husband apologized that we came in from the patio and the gentleman did not look happy. Finally we were able to let the hostess know that we had reservations. The gentleman seated us at a table instead of a booth and after that it was smooth sailing. We were celebrating my great nephew's 21st Birthday, his girlfriend's Birthday and our 49th Anniversary. We drove from Sacramento and my great nephew who attends college in Chico found this restaurant with Excellent Reviews. Our waitress/server Shaylee was outstanding! Being 21 we had to make sure he had his "first" drink! We ordered Calamari to share and it was perfect the batter was light! We shared a Cesar Salad with Anchovies! With the 4 of us we ordered Crusted Hazelnut Halibut, Stuffed Chicken, Rare New York Steak and the Sunday Special, Blackened Prime Rib, everything was Amazingly Delicious! The Baked Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes and Bread were great! Because we were celebrating birthdays and anniversary's, they treated us to the Trio Dessert! The Creme Brûlée with Snicker Doodle Cookie, Banana Cream Cheesecake and White Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream topped off our entire meal! Thank You Shaylee and the staff for a wonderful experience, Kudos to all of you!”

“I lived in Greece and ended up Marrying a Greek for 9 years so I know what mediterranean food is all about. When we got there I was literally starving. Looked at the menu And knew exactly what we wanted. The host met us at the door and was unbelievably kind. I could tell from the get-go this was going to be a good experience. We ordered the Greek salad and Gerro plate and everything was so delicious. I probably ate too much bread but that’s all right. The salad was huge, best feta I have had in a long time. The food was to die for but too much for us to eat. So took a doggie bag home. Was enough left over for the next day dinner. It was delicious, the ambience was awesome, and the service was superlative. Just a word of warning and not complaining this meal for two mind you and a salad was 72 dollars. Left 20 dollar tip so this special night cost close to 100 dollars and again not complaining worth every penny. Now there is two places downtown I love eating at. The other Burger Bun. Thank for the unbelievable dinner on a very special occasion (2 Yr anniversary) I will definitely come back five star restaurant”

“Have been here a couple times. Take out the first time 6-9mths ago and dine-in for lunch yesterday. The food is fresh and delicious and the portions are sizable! The service is wonderful and the owner that runs the front is so kind. The restaurant is always well kept and clean and has a nice open setting and spacious feel to it despite not being very large. I don't make it into downtown very often, but I was really glad to be able to eat there again. The owner was very kind towards our little girl as well. Looking forward to our next meal from Oshio. “I can't get enough of Crumbl Cookies! They have a wide variety of delicious flavors and I'm always excited for the next cookie menu to drop at the end of every week. Every bite feels like a heavenly experience, and I find myself craving them all the time.”

“More than pleasantly surprised to try this new establishment. The owner Suat is a genuine person who obviously puts quality and care into his business. It comes through in every bite! We tried the bacon burger (beef) with added tomato and BBQ sauce on the side, fries, coleslaw and chicken tenders. The meat was seasoned perfectly, the bacon delicious and tomato slices generous and fresh with just the right amount of melty cheese. What I loved most was how the bread takes more of a back stage to the overall flavor, complimenting, but not overwhelming or leaving you with a "carb coma". For those counting carbs, the owner mentioned that their burgers use around a third less dough than most burger places. The chicken tenders were also delicious, hand breaded in a uniquely spiced panko crust. Fries... Perfectly seasoned, crunchy and as good as it gets! The citrus slaw was a nice compliment to the meal. Greatful Suat and his family are here and adding to the vibrancy of downtown Chico. “This was our first time. Little bit of a wait but totally worth it, my sis and I waited outside in the back by the fire pit. Once we got to our table we had coffee and a delicious meal. I was craving tomato soup for a really long time and have a hard time finding good quality in stores and at restaurants. My sister loved her choice Atrain she said it was best of both worlds of sweet and savory. Can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.”

“I'm in town working. Read the consistently good reviews. Saw another reviewer talk about my favorite, Chile relleno burritos. I had to make the trip to give it a try. I have now eaten dinner here twice. It was so good last night I came back tonight. Every place makes them different. However, the way they make em is now my new favorite. Clean, no extra sauce. Perfectly cooked and deseeded. More rice than beans and salsa if you'd like in the burrito. I'll try to get a picture next week when I'm in town again. It's just so hard to stop once I start. I've had tacos and a quesadilla and they were excellent too. The relleno to me is the measuring stick. If it's done right; everything else they make has got to be good. A lady came up and ordered three carne asada fries while I was waiting. I may have to try that next. The quantity and quality for my money is what constitutes 5 stars.”

“Hands down the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. For over 15 years this has always been my go to restaurant to eat at. I also love how they have so many vegetarian options. If you're ever wondering what to get, their paneer masala is to die for!”

“The 2 man, 1 woman (McBride?), were terrific. On the downside, the young boys in charge of tables were clueless. No eye contact, scowling faces, no bussing of the used dishes (they didn't even look). One would practically have to trip them to get their attention. The price of food is horrific but it's also really good. All in all, if there is entertainment or if you just wish to sit in the outside garden area and enjoy the surroundings, an interesting menu, good food, and beautiful building and surroundings...this is perfect.”

“I got 2 grilled tacos, asada and pastor. The BEST tacos around! Crispy crunch in each bite and the flavor of the meat was on point! Nice and fully stuffed tacos. I also got an asada corn tostada. The only tostada that I can find that can hold up perfectly with the mound of toppings on it. Stayed crisped in each bite. Flavor was delicious and they put a good amount of meat and toppings. I spent $21 with a tip. Best money on tacos around.”

“Always a good experience when I stop here. Experience goes far back to original Oregon brews. This place has some of the best brews I’ve had. Not a real hazy person but loved one that was suggested. I came in with a porter taste bud but when I tasted a brown that was recommended I ordered the brown over the English Porter. A great bier is a great bier no matter what the style of brewing.Haven’t had the food so only reason not rated.”

“Neat little diner with great breakfast food. Son got the 1-2-3 (bacon, eggs and good sized pancake) and I got the Bidwell Egg (basically a bacon, egg and cheese bagel). Friendly service. Imagine gets a crowd later so glad we came early. Definitely worth a sit.”

“I went here for fish bowls one night and had fun! The staff was kind, and the pizza from the window was delicious. Only issue is there is not a lot of seating so you have to have a reservation. I tried going for dinner one night, but the wait was an hour. I will definitely come here again!”

“Loved the food. It was a bit dark and the music was a bit loud for a Thursday night in a mostly empty bar, but once the DJ came in it was better. I didn't get a photo of our food but it's the best fish & chips I've had in the Chico area in the 10 months I've been looking for a fish & chips place. I always enjoy coming here and have been for several years now.- properly made, tasty espresso drinks- they roast their own beans- friendly, smiling staff (who look like they get along and enjoy working there)- great aesthetics, high ceilings, a variety of seating, which is good for socializing or more isolated studying spaces- good music! (underrated feature)- dog-friendly- fun variety of food, and beer on tap- easy parkingChico has several bad (not mediocre... bad) coffee shops, some of which don't check any of the above boxes, so I am glad Daycamp exists! I hope the owners can open up more locations.”

“Their food and atmosphere is very high end with prices to match, but a investment in the gift cards you can buy at Costco 20% off is yours to use anytime I was a big fan of the Sunday Brunch on their beautiful patio with local musicians, unfortunately I think Covid might have been a contributing factor to its discontinuation (I'm thinking staffing issues as with other local restaurants that either had to close or cut back hour, even though they were very popular prior to Covid) this still doesn't take away from all their other meal options of superbly creative food with a gourmet flavor profile! My servers have been extremely knowledgeable about the food served and its ingredients (I have major food allergies and a latex allergy so I need to know things like did the prep chef cut themselves and need to wear a finger cot,since as far as I know they still haven't made a Nitrile or vinyl one, I have had anaphylaxis from a salad the food prep cook at a different restaurant wore so I ask this of my servers to save my life and not all are as kind about getting this information as the servers at The Red Tavern have been and all know allergies possible cross contamination.”

“The restaurant's interior is beautifully decorated, and the customer service is truly outstanding! Our waiter not only greeted us warmly but also offered fantastic recommendations, showcasing impressive knowledge of the menu. Our meal included a range of dishes: gyoza, wagyu beef on skewers, salmon trio maki roll, and a sashimi sampler. While the gyoza and wagyu beef were promptly served, there was a noticeable wait for the rest of our order. The sashimi sampler was satisfactory, though none of the fish stood out as exceptional. The rolls we ordered were good, but we would have liked more salmon options among the specialty rolls. There was about an hour-long wait for a table for two. Fortunately, the restaurant takes your number, allowing you to leave and be contacted when your table is ready. This spared us from waiting around! One minor critique is that the soy sauce was overly salty. It would have been nice if they offered a low-sodium soy sauce alternative.”

“Woodstock's feels like the quintessential neighborhood pizza parlor. We dined here this past weekend for lunch and both ordered the meal deal: salad, slice, & soda. Prices have sure gone up in recent years! We carried the slices directly from the counter to our table... no waiting. They were large, probably 1/6 of a large pie... the crust was pillowy soft, and even though I prefer it a bit thiner & crispier, it was tasty nonetheless. Salads arrived to our table after we were nearly done with our slices, which felt a little delayed considering they were lettuce + side of dressing. I prefer a salad as a starter, but our slices would have been cold had we waited. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch on the patio while we watched the bicycles flying by during the Chico Stage Race. I think my personal pizza tastes would draw me elsewhere, but I can certainly see this being a great patio for dining with friends when better weather arrives.”

“Love their Philly roll and spiny tuna roll. The walnut shrimp is a fav of mine and others. Large portions and consistent. I like that they use their system to see what you ordered in the past. Been coming here for a couple years and they have been friendly every time. Order is usually ready within 10min-20max. I try other places and always wish I just ordered from here. Recently saw a sign that they are under new ownership. Still same food and same service.”

“I stopped here while I was waiting for my cat cafe appointment down the street-and I got to say this place is amazing! My family and I have been buying sushi burritos and boba here for quite a long time, and I always get excited to go here! This was my first visit alone and I got a simple avocado sushi.. but oh my god it was the best and most creamy avocado sushi I had EVER had. It was divine! And not to mention the staff were very sweet and let me use the huge charger strip on the wall since my phone was dying! 10/10, I hope to visit here more often!”

“If you're craving some Jack In the Box, this is the location to go to in Chico. The one by Target is next best, but this one consistently has the juiciest meat, appropriate sauce amounts, and perfect fries. They have messed up my order a couple times (didn't substitute curley fries, didn't substitute crescent roll for sausage sandwich). Not a huge deal, but check your order if you make special requests that you are really looking forward to.”

“Finally after trying several other places recommended to me, I found my boba place! The flavors are INCREDIBLE they let you customize sweetness from very light to very sweet. “Sitting outdoors is not quite my vibe even with the misters but I absolutely love their pizza, calzones and breadsticks. The only time I was disappointed was when I missed my drumsticks which they corrected at a later date. ? I just recently tried their hamburger pizza and it was absolutely delicious!”

“Second time, this time I came with a friend My friend got the teriyaki tofu, he liked it I tried some vegan rolls cause its tofu tuesday!!! I got 1st and 6th, wish they had better names lol. Idk where the inari came from, it was good all in all. Still doesnt taste as good as other sushis I've had but the more I think about it, its probably just cause I bought the cheap stuff. Humboldt and elm roll were both cheap sushis same with these vegan rolls. You get what you get. As a cheap sushi, its pretty good. Next time I'll try to get the higher end sushis on their menu since I think thats where they shine Miso soup as an appetizer was standard again, on the house again woohoo Veggies tempura is good quality (I personally dont get much out of veggie tempura but thats just me), tasty sauce as well Some extra note: Tofu tuesday, you get anything related to tofu on a discount Whats weird is that on the receipt, it said tofu tuesday for one of my sushis and my friend's tetriyaki tofu bowl but I still paid full for my other tofu sushi, I didnt bother questioning cause I was with a friend. We kept talking about all the money stuck onto the walls lol. The wall is like a wishing well. No we didnt take any of it, and I expect no respectful person would either. I dont think even the workers are taking it As I've thought more about it, I dont think my previous score of 3 star is fitting, maybe I was just extra pessimistic that day, I dont think I can give a 5 star until I get a really good sushi from them tho so 4 star it is Also, yelp being weird, if you wanna see pics from my old review, elm roll, humboldt roll, ice cream mochi, and the menus, you should be able to find it in the photos of yelp, just filter through recent not many yelpers around so it should be most recent”

Only downside was menu was minimized due to covid and wasn't updated at time of dining, and the seating arrangement is for couples mostly and a bit cramped. Also staffing was low but it didn't impact dinner too much. Still worth a visit if you're not in a dire hurry.”

Salads arrived to our table after we were nearly done with our slices, which felt a little delayed considering they were lettuce + side of dressing. I prefer a salad as a starter, but our slices would have been cold had we waited. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch on the patio while we watched the bicycles flying by during the Chico Stage Race. I think my personal pizza tastes would draw me elsewhere, but I can certainly see this being a great patio for dining with friends when better weather arrives.”

“OMG, the flavors in these burgers and plates. All the food on the menu is amazing and I tried many burgers and plates. They have a large selection of local and imported beers. Service lacks a bit, I'm not sure if they are understaffed but every time I come, the waiter rarely comes around. The place itself has an amazing ambiance (for Chico), large windows to look to downtown, and a very pretty patio for nice weather lunch.”
