“Stopped in on a road trip to Redding. Old school diner feel! The place was clean and quiet, two of my favorite things. We were immediately greeted by Michelle who was very nice. Thanks Michelle. Our menus and drink orders were taken care of right away. It's a large menu with lots of options. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs from the senior menu and my wife order the breakfast burrito. Both were delicious and the portion size was good. We were checked throughout our time there and my coffee and her water was always full. We ended being served by Tina who was also awesome! Thanks ladies. This is what diners are supposed to be about.“
“The staff are friendly and they make everyone feel welcome. And the food? Best sammichs around. The specials are always something to check out, and the burgers? Get in my belly!! Just don't ask for no stinkin' fries, trust me, you won't miss them! So if you wander in bcuz it used to be La Fonda, don't be rude, stay for a bite and beverage, you won't be sorry. You're welcome.“
“Loved the food. It was a bit dark and the music was a bit loud for a Thursday night in a mostly empty bar, but once the DJ came in it was better. I didn't get a photo of our food but it's the best fish & chips I've had in the Chico area in the 10 months I've been looking for a fish & chips place. My husband had the naked pepper wings and loved them. Will be back again to try more foods and maybe dance next time :)“
“Really fun place, cool atmosphere. Only downside was having to order food at the bar, can take a bit if a line forms. But man when the food arrives do they deliver. I had the san francisco foggy noodles and they were amazing. We happened to go on trivia night (not planned by us) and we ended up having a great time.“
“My fiancé and I spent this past summer touring distilleries in Texas and California. On Saturday 12/23 I had the amazing opportunity of touring the distillery and having a tasting with the owner Kris. Kris is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Everything my fiancé and I tried we loved. I had been searching for a honey whiskey that I like and I had not found one. The last one I bought was the garrison bros honey whiskey which I was not a fan of at all. Golden beavers honey run is hands down the best honey whiskey I've found and is the only one I've thoroughly enjoyed. After spending some time at the distillery with Kris we went to the still house. There we had 4 different drinks and they were all amazing. We had the whiskey sour, old fashioned, mint julep, and an apple drink I cant remember the name of. We did not leave the still house empty handed. We bought 7 different bottles of their product because it is just that good. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Kris for the awesome experience!“
“What an awesome little place! Went here for a brunch. Absolutely delicious sandwich. I got the smokin’ berry bird. A little sweet and a tiny bit spicy, and totally delicious. Chico chai is also a great choice for an iced beverage!Sat outside in the walled in patio.“
“Great tour, loved the Mediterranean pizza in the restaurant. As a homebrewer, the tour was fantastic. Plenty of samples before, during and after the tour. I was awed to stand under 12 fermenters holding 24,000 gallons each. I was staying in Sacramento and it was only an hour and a half drive to Chico.“
“Hands down, the BEST BREAKFAST & VANILLA LATTE ever!!! @ Mom's Restaurant in Chico, CA. !!! Yeah, I said it. I had the absolute BEST Veggie Scramble and Vanilla Latte I've ever had, EVER in my life. It was so freaking good. I ate it all up, even though I was full halfway through. I finished it off, no regrets. Veggie scrambles are my thing and I can honestly say, Mom's version is the best I ever had the pleasure of savoring!! It had fresh spinach, zucchini, squash, broccolini, cauliflower, mushrooms, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes, with Jack cheese, and chimichurri sauce. All of the veggies were so flavorful and at peak ripeness. The bacon was just as good, so mouth-watering delicious. To top it off, my Vanilla Latte was Amazing! Like, how did they hit the mark on Everything?! It was so busy on a Sunday too! We got there @ 11:10 am. We put our name down, the hostess said, "It'll probably be 20 minutes." It was 18 minutes. The restaurant was at full capacity and on the warmer side. Our waitress Karen was very friendly and punctual throughout our meal, and our food came out quicker than expected! The restaurant itself is beautiful and eye-catching. We felt comfortable and definitely enjoyed our time here! This is an absolute must stop in Chico for sure!!“
“When we said we were going to check out Chico, at least 3 different people said to go to the Banshee. And I'm so glad we did. This place was awesome. Big beer list, cool atmosphere, good service, and rock star food. I got the onion jam and blue cheese burger and it was perfect. Definitely get the Cajun fries. They know how to make quality food here and there were several things on the menu I want to try. I guess I will just have to go back! Don't skip this place when you're in town!“
“Legit. I'm a man who loves to eat and smoke meats. I'm a retired food scientist chef of 20 years. I've worked at the French laundry for a little bit. I've made 9000 meals daily for about 3 years. This place has perfect cut red onions nice and thin, crunchy pickles sliced thin to add salt and flavor but not too much. The cjs sausage is a masterpiece. Ranch is fresh made. They even make a pot of fresh brewed tea for iced tea. Great country music playing.“
“Had lunch here yesterday with a large group of family and friends. The wait wasn't long and there were plenty of room in the bar area to hang out. The atmosphere was nice and upbeat. Not a huge menu but it had a good mix. The food and service is among the best. Looking forward to this place again the next time I'm in Chico.“
“Just visited this cool open and friendly spot for my first time, but definitely not my last! The waitress and staff was very friendly! The food was exceptional! Had a Pepperoni, it taste amazing! Also Really enjoyed the flavors from the Mediterranean pizza!“
“Finally made it to one of the top 5 restaurants in town according to the local foodies. Wish the locals had a little more class and had more in their wardrobe besides blue jeans.Moved here in July, and chose it for my birthday dinner. Could never have sat outside in Michigan this time of year. Unfortunately because of all the rain the mosquitoes were worse than a spring in the upper peninsula.Sydney was an excellent waiter.Appetizer was substantial and delicious, l recommend.Beat salad was unique, my late father would have loved.Scallop special was a must, should become a standard.Filet Oscar was larger than expected and perfectly cooked. Bernaise sauce tasted more like hollandaise. Lobster claw was dry, and Oscar is usually crab. Why smash asparagus into whipped potatoes to make a tower? Try laying them like a lean-to.Lava cake and Gelato that tastes like ice cream is to die for. Only noteworthy dessert item by far. Will be back.Parking: In back off the alley. Back door sticks“
“I have yet to be disappointed with B Street. This business came after we moved away from Chico but we've visited it a handful of times when we've come back to visit. Great atmosphere, nice patio, and delicious menu. I'll give 5 stars for food but 4 stars for service. Server was nice but a little slow and unattentive (a little too relaxed of a vibe on him). That wouldn't be a big deal for me except it was a weeknight and it wasn't busy. Duck fat fries are a must. Be ready to share, even the smaller serving is huge! Tried the trashy tacos on our last trip down and that cheese skirt really lit my fire. Bacon and blue salad had all the fun flavors. I just had wine but I'd love to try some of their fun craft cocktails on our next stop in.“
“First time here but the food was great, the outside patio has lots of outdoor games (corn hole, a peg board game etc) and the service was friendly and attentive. Granted it was lunch and not busy. Can’t wait to go back. Entrance is around the corner on 3rd btw.“
“This place is a real gem in Chico! Not a bad seat in the whole place. Great floor for dancing. Of course their beer is pretty good, I appreciate they set everyone up with water. The sound is wonderful. Big cheers to the person who brings the music to the big room, nothing but first class acts!“
“The food was inventive and delicious. The bar has great cocktails, the mescal cocktail was unusual and refreshing. Their wine list varied and reasonably priced. Our server and her helpers were friendly and efficient. The place itself is somewhat industrial and the open bar area provides some entertainment as they create their libations. I really liked the mix of music they played. We were probably the oldest people in the restaurant, but the eclectic atmosphere and great food and bar seemed to be appealing to everyone.“
“Fantastic pool hall/sports bar & grill with 6 full-size tables and a 75¢ bar-size table. More than enough flat screen TVs to watch ALL games that are playing in real time. Can't really vouch for food yet as I've only had the grilled cheese sandwich so far. Free pool Sundays!Parking: Multiple spots in front, parking lot in back and plenty of street parking as it is located at the western edge of the Cal State Chico campus.Kid-friendliness: Not sure about exact rules regarding minors, but I know they can hangout on the billiards side of the establishment.Wheelchair accessibility: Of course it's ADA compliant, like it should be.“
“I would have preferred way more saurkraut on my Reuben. Otherwise, though, the corned beef was tasty, and the bread was nice and soft. I got it in the Ciabatta roll instead of on Rye. We also got a side of pesto pasta salad which was tasty.“
“Me and a buddy met at twisted cafe to chat on a Friday evening around 5:30. The Mocha was insanely delicious but the hours say open until 7:30 they closed at 6:15-6:20 and though we weren't done with our drinks or chatting they kicked us out. Please change your hours so people don't have to get there order and leave! We hung out in front after they closed and 2 people came by and asked us if they were closed and that was at 7:00pm that could have been 2 more potential customers! Otherwise again mocha was awesome and staff was very nice just sucks when you see "closed at 7:30pm" then you have to leave at 6:20!“
“Fast service and a great place to play pool or darts. You pay by the hour for pool, but darts is free! Their birria tacos and curly fries are really good and I enjoy the Thursday Jazz Nights. It's a more chill place to go so a good place to start or end the night to wind down. Definitely kind of local, older guy vibe but with the right company you can have a good time.“
“Love this place. Such the perfect dive-y, river eatery -- exactly what we wanted after a day of tubing. The food was really good, fresh and delicious, and there was a local band playing (or maybe it was open mic night). Ambiance was friendly and relaxing. This is a local institution, I remember it from decades ago when I was a student, and I love that it's still going strong.“
“Delicious meal @ The Cheese Steak Shop in Chico, CA. !! I placed a to-go order at the counter with a fine young gentlemen, who was courteous and friendly. The restaurant itself was modest and somewhat dated, but clean with an ample amount of tables and chairs. There were also straightforward instructions on a wall and a detailed menu above the ordering counter. We enjoyed a full Western Cheesesteak, half of a Classic, and perfectly cooked curly fries. Everything was delicious! The tender meat and melted cheese paired great with their fresh, flavorful hot & sweet peppers!! We would eat here again when we make it back to Chico for sure! Thank you.“
“Could be a little cleaner, but other than that this place is pretty neat. Each person in our group got very different items. We got everything from shrimp to burritos to chicken croissant sandwiches to pancakes lol. So everyone should be able to find something they like. The photos along the walls are really neat to see. If you have kids and are in the back larger room, you can test them to find the pictures that have "church" spelled wrong and see if they can find them. The half and half is refrigerated which I really appreciate. Very friendly staff. Sanitizer is close to the entrance and was nice and full.“
“Julie great customer service, pulled up when the rest didn't, made me feel welcomed and special. We need more Julie's in our life. Thank you Julie, I'll remember you for the rest of my life. #MakeNash'sGreatAgain2024 #JulieMyQueen #JulieForPresident“
“This is one of the few places I will eat in Chico, the food is amazing (if Travis is the cook) , hands down best cook and he has an amazing attitude! The bathrooms are always clean, definitely an amazing atmosphere! eat here, you wont be disappointed!“
“I go here mostly for the atmosphere and the lemon drops during happy hour. This place has such a fun & lively vibe with good appetizers. ( the wings are amazing) The entrees are only ok and a little pricey but it’s still one of my favorite places to go for drinks.“
“I have been recommended this restaurant more than a dozen times. Here we are! This place lives up to the hype. Absolutely amazing food. I ordered a Country Benedict with Sausage and my guest ordered a 1+1+1 combo. This place has such a warm and vibrant environment. Very welcoming and pleasant staff. Restaurant is always busy (which is usually a good sign unless you're impatient). Personally loved the food thoroughly. Country gravy was seasoned to perfection. I was very impressed. This place is must visit. 15/15“
“Neat little diner with great breakfast food. Son got the 1-2-3 (bacon, eggs and good sized pancake) and I got the Bidwell Egg (basically a bacon, egg and cheese bagel). Friendly service. Imagine gets a crowd later so glad we came early. Definitely worth a sit.“
