14 Best Sushi Bars in Chico

“Great sushi! Compared to other local options, this is more expensive than Ichiban/Big Tuna and about the same as Raw Bar but with bigger rolls. I enjoyed all of the above-mentioned places, and Nama Sake is worth the extra cost. It's close between Raw Bar and here for the best sushi in town. I'm leaning towards Nama Sake as number #1 sushi and would note that Raw Bar has better drinks and more options if you are eating with people that don't like sushi but want a great quality restaurant meal.“

“GenKai is always my go to place. I love their extensive sushi picture book. I know exactly what’s in the rolls and what it looks like. No surprises. New to eating sushi and that picture book helps a lot. Won’t order without that book. There’s around 70+ specialties in the picture book and I am attempting to try them all, especially being able to order half the rolls on happy hour. Highly recommended!“

“Took my daughter here for veteran's day lunch. The atmosphere caught us right away, the service was top notch such friendly and knowledgeable staff. And the food was DELICIOUS ? not to mention the price?

“I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We attended for my nieces birthday, she is a giant fan and except for a town full of our trusty blackstones, it’s almost 4 hours away to find one. We were greeted properly by the hostess who was very friendly. Our server and JP (ask for him) our amazing chef outdid themselves making this experience so much fun. Part of coming to a restaurant like this is the interaction with the employees and all of our needs were met. The restaurant is large, well appointed and exceptionally clean, a great place for small & large gatherings. While I would give five stars for both of these things, the food was the icing on the cake. I traded my miso soup to the birthday girl for her salad, she loved it and ate both bowls. The salad was light and refreshing with a flavorful mayonnaise based dressing, I didn’t even notice it wasn’t a sesame based. Large selection of Sake and mixed drinks all at a great price. There were no complaints from any of us on the main course. Large portions are standard, I tried everything but my favorite was the filet. Shrimp, Scallops and New York was awesome too. I definitely will be back.“

“always been great service and amazing food but tonight was an experience I'd never encountered food amazing as always but service was far below my normal experience. main reason being I was charged an automatic gratuity because of a large party that I understand what I don't understand is the audacity to charge me a automatic gratuity and still charge me for a second drink after I didn't receive my meal till I asked for it 3 times after everyone else had already ate. mind you 5 people showed up after everyone else but my cousin and I got to watch everyone else eat l. will never lie food is always awesome cant blame chefs, or the guys at sushi bar today was just horrible service“

“I can never tell if they're open anymore, I sat in the drive through for around ten minutes the other day, then I ended up calling and someone said they're open...hmmm

Either way, when they are open, their food is incredibly good and reasonably priced, I've enjoyed coming here for years now!“
