Would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the rude BARTENDER!!!!! We came from out of town and was there over a hour before closing time on a MONDAY with onlyone other customerin the entire restaurant..the bartender was in a rush and extremely rude to us and made a very unprofessional comment when we walked in along with the drinks he made being returned because they tasted like soap as well. If it weren't for the yummy food and the sweet waitress that made up for the initial experience walking in I would have walked away completely and never gave them my business.Hire someone who can make better drinks and know how to treat there customers please because your food is amazing but you need the customer service along with it! Your waitress was amazing though...she was very accommodating after we voiced that to her and I really appreciated her ❤️ she went above and beyond!

Vegetarian options: The usual vegan options are there. Notions exciting but the chef made a roll special and it was good. I modified a meat based roll and substituted vegan stuff which was great but I got a $3 up charge. Hate when I pay for all the expensive meat only to pay again for additions. The vegan tax. Try the Japanese taco with avocado. Service was perfect! Their staff is the best!

we were told they didn't take reservations but two 4 tops were reserved when we got there. we were told it would be maybe a 20 minute wait. we waited over an hour. one table had eaten all their food and this white guy comes in and sits down with that table and they order nothing more and just stare at their phones while we waited another 20 minutes. what a waste of time! as a chico resident of over 25 years, I'll never go to Big Tuna again, there's better in service and quality.

I must’ve missed something.I was excited to try it, but was let down.They cancelled my order with an hour left until closing, (placed online @ 7:45) and did not have any explanation as to why they did this. When I politely asked the girl attending the checkouts why they cancelled my order she stared at me dumbfounded and said nothing.The beef was very overcooked, and the sushi had no flare. (Got a beef teriyaki and a yellowtail bomber) Edamame was ok and would have been so easy to make at home.Save yourself disappointment and avoid this subpar establishment.
Jilly and a young man served us yesterday. Their customer service was so great, the food and green tea were absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing and the price was affordable. My mom, sister and I sat outside. Since moving to Chico almost 2 years ago, Big Chico Japanese Restaurant is one of our favorite restaurants. That’s saying a lot since we literally only have 2 favorite restaurants in all of Butte County.

My partner and I came for lunch, and it should be more crowded! The food is delicious! I ordered the coconut shrimp, pan fried gyoza, and a crab taco. My partner had the katsu curry. The coconut shrimp has the most coconut flavor and freshest shrimp I've ever had. The crab taco was divine. The pan fried gyoza was perfect with the little bit of crunch. The sauces that came either with or on everything were perfectly paired. My partners katsu curry he got the breaded pork and said other than wanting it spicier it was delicious and perfect. We didn't get sushi this time, but we will be back and we hope it will be crowded when we return because wow is this place yummy!

First off customer service was five out of five. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, We got the vegetable tempura, Butterfly shrimp, And two rolls of sushi. All of it came out quick and hot And they modified the order for us. We also got two alcoholic beverages, The spirited away is really good! It was not busy which was nice, but this place definitely is slept on, and deserves more business.
