I was here at gen kai for my grandsons birthday, We were having a lovely time! the restaurant looks clean, the place looks lovely but our server with black and blonde hair was very rude and gave us a hideous look and her tone sounded very much bratty! fix your servers because I will not be coming here again if she is my server

I absolutely have always loved genkai sushi! I love that they have pictures to show you what the roles look like and a delicious blackberry mojito. I have never been disappointed and by far they have the best spicy garlic edamame in town Yum! Yum! Yum!

Our go-to for Japanese rolls. Nothing amazing, food-wise, but satisfying. The BBQ ribs are a surprising hit! Friendly welcoming folks, conveniently close to campus & town center

I've been here several times. This place is the best sushi place in Chico IMO. 10/10. Their menu is so beautiful and friendly to beginners. Pictures, descriptions of what is cooked vs raw. The sushi is so delicious. The servers are always friendly and on top of it. The atmosphere is relaxed. My fav place. Chefs kiss. I just wish there was a kid's menu. 😩 But other than that -fantastic.

Finally tried this place for the first time and it was so bomb! Will definitely be back to try more. We got the housewife roll and the spicy tuna roll. The serrano peppers on the housewife were SPICY! The spicy tuna roll could’ve used more spice/spicy mayo on it. The tuna was more of a chunk in the roll instead of chopped up like the photo showed online, which I wasn’t a huge fan of but it will still good. We also got miso soup and beef yakisoba. The yakisoba was super good!

We made reservations to celebrate my daughter's graduation, and we were all very disappointed with the customer service and quality of the food. I don't recommend this restaurant to celebrate something that special . They never made us feel welcome, and the waitress was passive-aggressive. Will nev
er go back and recommend either.

The only sushi place I get cravings for. I’m really picky about my sushi and this place has never let me down! Be aware if you’re ordering for pickup it’s not fast food so it’ll take awhile. But well worth it!! Dining in is always quiet, comfortable, and friendly.

Waited without any explanation for our food a more than a lengthy amount of time. Waitress had an attitude. Will not be returning

Lots of sushi options, they could probably make you happy no matter the preference. Waitresses are very polite and helpful, sushi is pretty good.
