Food: we have been eating here for over 25 years, portion sizes have decreased, prices continue to increase. Now today, sauces were thinned down (??), what next? They need to increase the amount of egg in the fried rice. All they use are cheaper green bell peppers in many dishes, how about adding a few yellow and red bell peppers to upgrade flavor. They even have down graded their fortune cookies. I don't want to pick on a previously favorite Chinese restaurant of ours.....but enough is enough, it has gone downhill since the start of Covid. Chico needs a better Chinese food choice than this now!

I'm not a huge lover of Chinese food. Mostly because I'm such a picky eater. Happy Gardens is now my number 1 favorite Chinese food restaurant! Our server was so kind helping me to find dishes that I would like yet challenge my very bland palet. Everything was delicious! Insanely affordable and plenty for lunch the next day. I trusted our server and tried new things all that were delicious. I can't wait to order for lunch when I'm at work or on the run. And since my wife absolutely loves Chinese food she is so happy I can now enjoy her love of this cuisine. The restaurant was moderately busy but the service was fast and friendly. I love it when I find out I really do love trying new things. Thank you! I'm a believer! I'll be back and bring my friends, family and staff with me.

Very upset. Spent $66 dollars on this meal and the boxes weren’t even filled all the way. The food was very soggy. HOUSE fried rice wasn’t fried and was very bland. And to top it all off. I’ve been puking since 3pm. it is now 3am!:) not worth your buck.

For me, what makes for nice Chinese-American food is the vegetables. Happy Garden uses fresh veggies, not overcooked, and it makes all the difference! The hot and sour soup is very good, and the wor wonton is a near second. Also, the service was friendly and thoughtful. I'll be back!

We love Happy Garden! We usually call in our order, then come and pick it up on our way home. They are very efficient at this. There’s a whole section in the front where you pick up your called in orders. Even in the rush of dinner time, they had our order ($80, pretty large) ready in 15 minutes. There’s also many tables to sit at if you desire dining in. The bathroom was also very clean when we went there. Thanks so much for giving our family a quick, delicious option when we are looking for a treat dinner night.Parking: The parking lot is smallish, but it doesn’t need to be that big because it’s only for the restaurant. Most people are picking up take away orders so they are in and out quickly.Kid-friendliness: The people who work there are very friendly. They also have high chairs and booths, both of which are good when you have younger kids.
