This place is not what it used to be. What used to be a clean and inviting restaurant is now run down and filthy. Took my gf here wanting to share a long time staple of Chico and she wasn't having it. Tables werent clean, food debris everywhere, floors were sticky, paint peeling etc. Final straw for us was the guy in line in front of us picking his nose and examining his findings as he made his bowl. We ended up walking out before we even made it to the food. Only positive was the staff was friendly. RIP Hulas.

I am a long time Chico resident and have eaten at hulas multiple times but tonight’s experience was the worst by far. First our server was Mia for long periods of time. The food was just okay and it was hot and uncomfortable in there. For $24 per person I expect excellent service and food that is not stale. Appetizers we stake and soup was basically broth and stale fortune cookies. We will not be back
