my partner and i had been to hulas multiple times now making it our go to anniversary spot with the food being great but we just went and our server was horrible. i get it i've been a server before but she was very unclear on instructions with payment. she had first said she'll meet us at the cashier to check us out and proceeded to watch us clean up the table, stack up plates and cups and even put our food in to go boxes. we went to go pay and she said we weren't supposed to go at the cashier to pay and to wait at the table and said rudely this time she'd let us pay there but next time she wouldn't. my partner then said oh i'm sorry you werent clear so we came up here. she then proceeded to rudely take my partners card and throw him the pen to sign. horrible experience this time around.

Mixed review, the food was amazing everything was stocked up an super clean. This was my second time eating at Hulas and it definitely won't be my last. So for this portion of the review I give 5 stars. However, when it comes to the tall skinny cook that wears his hair in a low ponytail/bun I rate his attitude and the way he carries himself and treats others a 1 star. While waiting in line I observed that specific cook interact with his co workers in a rude and sharp manner that even the people around me were picking up on. When it came time for my bowl to be cooked he continued his attitude as he thought I payed for one bowl but used two ( I payed for two bowls so I can fill one with all noodles and the other with meat/veggies) He began to say I could have absolutely fit it all into one bowl and he will cook it this time but not to let it happen again. His attitude was so blatant that the couple next to me looked over with a shocked and awkward laugh. I then clarified that I payed for two bowls and wanted it cooked as one. Instead of apologizing he just switched to the other grill to cook others food and lets a new cook finish mine. I'm writing this review so the owner of this company can give that team member (the rude cook) the feedback and coaching he needs to keep Hulas an amazing non toxic and fun environment. This was only my second time at Hulas and I observed the same cook with the same rude attitude on my first visit. That is what's making me write this review as I believe it's not an isolated incident and he is always treating staff and customers this way. My words to that young man....Treat others as you would like to be treated and leave your problems at the door, no one cares if you're in a "mood". With that being said I will be back to enjoy the food and services here at Hulas. See you guys soon!

I'm 34 years old and have never gotten food poisoning until I ate here last night. All 4 people in my party are hugging a toilet this morning. As far as the food, this isn't the first time I've been to a "Mongolian style" restaurant and I wasn't particularly impressed.....their meat is weirdly thin and frozen and some how all tastes the same with a wierd aftertaste. In fact, I'd bet money their meat made us sick.

Tried Hula’s for the first time the other night.. The bowl was good (waited in line for quite a while though) , egg rolls sitting on our table were cold, rice was hard and the soup was watered down, no refills on drinks offered either. We would have tried again hoping for better experience during our next visit. However, we will not be returning after checking our bank statements and seeing that the waitress gave herself a $15 tip.

Why reopen hulas if you’re not going to do it justice? Hulas used to be amazing, but now it’s extremely overpriced and their hours are horrible! Do they even still have the all you can eat or did they do away with that too? These new owners need to take some advise from the guy who used to run it over on 1st Ave, he was awesome and I saw him at hulas recently. I can’t imagine he thinks what the new owners are doing is good. Make hulas how it used to be, Chico is big enough and can 100% support it. They had no trouble in the past and they ran two locations. Hulas used to be my family and friends favorite restaurant. Not so much anymore. Sad

Almost, *almost* as good as the original. Sad to see that the original location closed, as it was the best. This one doesn't have quite the same ambiance, but it's close. I took a star off because they took lamb off the meat selection and replaced it with pizza-like sausage and kielbasa, neither of which belong anywhere near something purporting to be "Chinese". Lamb is far superior, and badly missed. Otherwise, the food and service was perfect. Chloe took very good care of me, answered all my questions, and was perfectly polite. Thank you! I'll definitely be back when I'm in town.

Should have looked at the menu before ordering didn't realize it was going to be $20 per person. Ouch! But worth it. I mean come on it's Hula's, who doesn't love Hula's?

We used to love Hulas back in the day so we decided to go and see if it was still as good as it used to be. I hate to say it but it wasn’t. The sauces seemed flavorless. I did the same thing I always do and it just didn’t have much flavor. I liked that they added more veggies that was awesome! Our waitress was really awesome too! Unfortunately with prices it just isn’t worth going back for food that’s just ok

It is nice that you get to add everything you want cooked into your bowl along with all the sauce you want for flavor. They always seem to cook mine to perfection. So if you don't like it, it is probably because of your choices.

This place is truly one of a kind, the food quality is great as well as the atmosphere, only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to an incident that occurred while I was in line. I'll try and keep it short while preparing my bowl I noticed the woman in front of me was grabbing the tongs (side that picks up the food) with her hands while filling her bowl , she continued to touch every single one down the line, now at this point a male employee has overheard me and has now stopped to listen I'm very angry and I firmly tell her that what she is doing is wrong and unsanitary to please stop, well she looks at me and just says I don't care! And simply keeps walking along the line. So I look over to the employee and I tell him what she did and how pretty much all the tongs should be replaced, all he says is ok and just goes back to what he was doing! I couldn't believe it and now that I think about it I definitely should have called over manager but it was extremely busy and I didn't want to cause a scene. Well that's my experience at Hulas awesome place, just wish they had a better system to keep the items clean and sanitized.

They need to stop hiring people that don't generally know how to cook food. I come here all the time, and I constantly have to deal with it being a hit or miss when it comes to the person cooking the food. Tonght I had the new guy grab my bowl. He did not know how to cook, he could barely move my food around and when he did, he left it in a pile. Your suppose to flatten everything out so it cooks evenly and all the sauce is absorbed. I left disappointed and even more disappointed when I got home and sat down to eat my food.. this is a reoccurring thing for me. I really advise the managers to teach there new cooks the proper way to cook the food, if they can't do it right then don't hire them.
