I've been here a few times and never had a drink I enjoyed so stopped going. A friend of mine stopped for a tea and I was in their car and asked for a water- My water tastes like coffee grounds. Thats. Horrendous.

Damn! I really loved this place when I started visiting just a few short months ago and unfortunately it did not take long for that to change. There seems to be one staff member consistently being inconsistent and leaving room for doubt, I believed it to just be an honest mistake initially until it happened a second and third time with the same person!
To be clear, I basically order the same thing each visit and was surprised to find myself suddenly paying more about a month ago. I thought it might be a hike in prices which is understandable until the next time I went, and with a different barista helping me, the price was back to what I would pay originally. Having gone back and encountering this *particular* worker, wouldn't you know my total was higher than usual (and not even the price I last tendered with this specific person!..) ugh. Consistently inconsistent!.. and I hate to say it but that might not even be as bad or as frustrating if they weren't rude in their interaction as well. It sucks!
Basically my last trip there was yesterday. I know there are definitely some establishments missing in the area :/ but one thing we're not lacking in around here are places to get coffee and people more willing to do so nicely.

Use to love Java detour in the early 2000s and late 2010s. Recently moved back and thought I’d try it again. Google says they close at 7. Pulled up at 6 and the employee rudely said “I close at 6. Yep. Have a good night.” Seems like she hates her job. Maybe her life. Maybe just a bad day. Idk. Hope her night/life gets better! 🙏 Java detour trash floating around their property. Not a great look for our town. Won’t be returning. Thankfully a handful of other coffee drive thrus are down the street and their customer service is always good.

Just found this little gem!! I got the tuxedo blended mocha, SO DELICIOUS. And the nice lady told me they have happy hour after 4pm every day!! Woohoo! New favorite coffee shop in Chico! 🌸 2 mediums for $10, plus a tip of course,

Great little coffee stand. You get a stamp card and street ten drinks you get a free one, pretty standard but it's nice. Their blended drinks are great according to my mom and the girls working there are all so pleasant! Only ever had one grumpy one and never seen her since! Probably host didn't mesh well, which I totally get. Not a job I could do. Great reasonable prices too!
