I went there for the first time today and wasn't really sure how ordering and the drive through worked but the person who helped me figure it out was extremely sweet and patient through the whole process. She helped me figure out what kind of drink I wanted since I was craving peppermint and chocolate. She made me a peppermint mocha blended drink with whip cream and it was so good that i drank it before I could even take a picture of it. I tried it immediately when she gave it to me and told her it was good and she asked if I wanted a punch card. I said yes because I'm definitely going to go back and it's my new favorite coffee place in Chico since I haven't really been to many since moving here. The staff is awesome and the drinks taste and look so good.

The people who work here are so nice that even if there coffee wasn't the best I would still stop here.How ever there coffee is really good so the best of both worlds is a great way to start the day.I have a service company one block away and with getting the crews out to the jobs on the mornings I need good coffee to help me not miss the details.5 stars are not enough.Thanks Giuseppe.Pioneer engineering and construction

Ok after finally going to every coffee drive through in Chico I am declaring a very clear winner. Java Detour. Their coffee tastes the best. They have breakfast sandwiches and other useable morning foods. They can make all of their sugary drinks sugar free. The staff is genuinely friendly not fake trained exaggerated friendliness. They wear clothes. They have an easy drive through on an intersection. The prices are ok. I have been going there a lot and will make the detour and pass 3 or 4 other ones on the way to work just to go there. It is worth it.
The best coffee in Chico! The staff is always so sweet. They have amazing customer service! Definitely will always stop here when I'm in town.

Originally 5 stars....3 years ago. Ingredients have changed to be cheaper and I can taste in the quality. Prices went up despite the decline in quality. I am disappointed every time with the flavor. Only 1 window open and slow service. Java detour has gone downhill. I won't be surprised if they're closed within a few years.Consistently good coffee. Somewhat slow when there is a line and usually just one barista. Love the happy hour from 5-7.

The coffee wasn't bad, the attitude from the girl at the window was horrible. I asked if all of their breakfast sandwiches came with egg and she said not the build your own. So I asked for one with just ham and cream cheese....still got egg. I went back and she looked at me and said " well for future reference all of our sandwiches come with egg on them". Good thing my allergy isn't analytic.
