I love Mekkala, best Tai food in town. Large portions and excellent flavor every time. I usually go with Yellow Curry, but wanted soup today and tried the Chicken Tom Yum and it's delicious.

First visit. My 98 year old father and I had the Mekkala Appetizer plate between us. Perfect! Next time, we'll try the Penang curry. Next time, for dinner, we will also try their very nice looking outdoor seating. Also, parking in front of this place is easy. We will be back.

Food is excellent, but their medium spice level is like other places very hot. The server did warn us about that though so our mistake lol will definitely be going back

I have tried a lot of Thai places in California and this is the BEST I have ever had hands down! Got the yellow curry with tofu and mild+ spice. The curry sauce will knock your socks off. So complex and fresh and complements the wealth of vegetables you get (potato, cauliflower, carrot, zucchini, green bean, onion, bell pepper, Thai basil). The egg rolls are massive and a perfect appetizer. It’s cute and cozy inside and very fast for a drop in to go order. The staff is lovely. I can’t wait to go back here and try everything. Please support this spot, you will not regret it!
I paid $80 for takeout for my family and they didn't even give me rice. The food was delicious but every other Thai restaurant I have ever been to includes rice with the entrees.
I love this place. Pad Thai is great. Authentic. I love when you can choose your level of spicy.

Ok now,
I’m still going to give this locally owned business 5 stars because the food is amazing but tonight I feel like I got half the portion I usually do. I also forgot to say no tin foil because it messes with my teeth so that’s why it’s in a separate container. It’s typically loaded with chicken and veggies and feeds me at least 3 times. I ordered an extra side of rice because I usually have so many leftovers. I called and told them but the guy assured me that it wasn’t half portion. I asked for an extra cookie as well, which I received but wouldn’t have gotten a fortune cookie at all if I didn’t ask.
Like I stated from the beginning, I’m not trying to ruin this place and I really do love the food but extremely disappointed with this order.
Been going for years. Salmon is $18 for substitute. Go to Cocodine way better place.
Too spicy to eat
They made our food so spicy, my friend could not eat it. I gave him the rest of mine, which was also too spicy. Now my stomach is really hurting and I feel like I got ripped off. Like they were trying to prove something. I don't get it. If you do not have a genuine desire to
give people an exceptional dining experience, whats the point? To teach us a lesson? Two stars is generous. We mentioned it to our server, but I guess we were not important enough.
Last night I had my daughter order take out to pick up. We had the green curry chicken, “mild plus”. After she brought it hope and we mixed it in our bowls with the rice, we discovered it was more of a hot to Thai hot experience, not what my stomach could handle at the moment being sick with the flu. When we called the restaurant to find out what happened, we thought maybe they got some orders mixed, the young man answering the phone admitted that he had “screwed up” and made it too hot when he was adding the extra heat to make it mild plus. I replied, “Ok, I understand.” And then an awkward silence ensued where I was obviously waiting for the restaurant to offer to fix their mistake. I spoke up and asked when we could pick up the correct order and he said he had to go “talk to the chef”. When he returned, he said it is Mekkala’s policy that they don’t offer a new order in these situations but that we could “bring it back in” and the chef would “bring it into the kitchen and add some coconut milk to it”. I was shocked. Here I am at home sick with influenza type A, and this guy is telling me to put the now-cold food that has been in my mouth back into the restaurant container, go back to the restaurant with it, have it brought back into the kitchen so the chef could dump some more coconut milk in it and then take it back home again? I asked to speak with his manager. When this woman got in the phone I asked her if that is indeed Mekkala’s policy in these situations, she stated it was and there was nothing else they would offer. She was very rude about the whole thing. I didn’t think I should need to explain to a restaurant manager that their policy is definitely in violation of some OSHA codes and the yuck factor in general. But she very confidently did not care. So that’s my story, I was clear with her I would not be leaving a favorable review. And I can only surmise that if they treat Safety Regulations and OSHA restaurant codes with such blatant disregard publicly I can’t imagine how things look behind the scenes there. I will be avoiding Mekkala at all costs and would recommend you do the same!
