Eaten here a few times and was great. Got takeout on a Sunday and when I walked in... Smelled fishy... Never a good sign for a sushi place. But I didn't pay much mind to it.
Got a couple of rolls, a tuna sampler and some edamame.
Edamame was great but cold (it was takeout I can't fault it! Flavor was there though!)
The rolls though.... Tasted like they were prepared with left over day old ingredients.
And the tuna sampler was basically inedible.
Disappointed to say the least considering how great this has been in person.
Would definitely recommend going but don't ever order Togo from here. ?

Great sushi! Compared to other local options, this is more expensive than Ichiban/Big Tuna and about the same as Raw Bar but with bigger rolls. I enjoyed all of the above-mentioned places, and Nama Sake is worth the extra cost. It's close between Raw Bar and here for the best sushi in town. I'm leaning towards Nama Sake as number #1 sushi and would note that Raw Bar has better drinks and more options if you are eating with people that don't like sushi but want a great quality restaurant meal.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place. first I love sushi. Love the bar here fun to watch the dishes being made and the chef is always up for talking about the lastest fresh fish from japan featured on the menu this week. I love the crispy rice cakes, truffle edamame and am always happy with Chefs choice 10 piece Sashimi. Every dish an offering, a ceremony to eat and a cacophony of flavors for your mouth! The menu is large so lots to try. I’m there bi- weekly and am never disappointed. plus fried cheesecake? come on ! super attentive staff , interesting friendly diners to mingle with.

We have been wanting to try this place for awhile and so glad we did! You can really tell they put effort into the menu and the food. The flavors were absolutely fantastic. We were very impressed with how great everything tasted. We will be back to try more!
Nama Sake has a sleek, upscale decor that's both simple and inviting. The crispy Brussels sprouts were a generous portion, perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Sunset Heat Roll was fantastic—great portion size and packed with fresh, vibrant flavors. A must-visit for sushi lovers in the Chico area.

NamaSake is absolutely delicious! ??The fish is incredibly fresh, and the atmosphere is sophisticatedly edgy .???It’s always exciting to visit, not just for the amazing food, but also for the great cocktails, sake, wine.
It’s super family-friendly and perfect for date nights. My spouse, our daughter, and I go there quite often. The bar is our favorite spot to watch the chefs make sushi rolls. A special shout-out to Jack, N I C K and Moon for always being so awesome and helpful & making killer ? sushi!
This sushi place is truly fantastic, and I highly recommend it. Plus, it’s always fun to dress up when you go!???

Cute modern minimalist design. Soft lights and warm glow highlight the exquisite food and hospitable staff.
Shishito peppers were perfect texture, flavor was great. Would definitely order again.
The sunset heat roll was outstanding. No soy needed. Just a lil dab of the wasabi and some ginger to cleanse the palate in-between bites so I can have the full flavor experience each bite. Lovely.
The brussel sprouts were phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and the sauce ?
The tuna sampler. Man. I was so hesitant to order sushi in Chico. Holy baby Jesus wearing a tuxedo shirt(my favorite Jesus). The oh-toru was better than the cut I had at NOBU LA.
the cocktails were well crafted and even though they took awhile to come out, they made my mouth do a little dance.
Will definitely be back often.

Best sushi we've had!
We celebrated our 10th anniversary and
Jordan was delightful. Her recommendations, which was what we ordered, were amazing.
Great service!

Delicious! My husband and I have wanted to check this place out for a while, and we know the owner wont settle for anything less than the best of the best. This place did not disappoint. We walked in at around 6 with no reservation, and got seats at the back cocktail bar immediately. It was nice and quieter back there. The bartenders/servers were incredibly friendly and informative, especially Kylie. My husband doesn't really like sushi, so it was nice there were other options for him. He got the Teriyaki chicken plate, and I got the soft shell crab roll and the snow white roll. The crab was amazing, and the ginger and wasabi were the freshest, highest quality that we've ever had. We also had some saki and signature cocktails which were great. For a sushi dinner with drinks, it really wasn't that expensive either. Next time we'll make a reservation ahead, and we very much look forward to going back.

Stopped by for lunch on a whim. Ambiance was industrial mondern with great music. We were seated immediately. Our server Arun was very nice and was super helpful when I needed anything for our table. I got the salmon trio, spicy octopus, and Miriam park. All were delicious, but the take the chefs take on the miram park was on another level. It was minimally spicy but very refreshing. I highly recommend it. My son had the chicken teriyaki bento box, which looked really good. I'd say it's a great place to get a drink and fresh sushi here in Chico. Not what I was expecting, but happy we stopped. I'll be back next time I'm in town.
Kid-friendliness: We came around lunchtime and had no problems.
Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of space with a ramp going up
