I love this place. Great food, great beer selection, and staff is amazing. They dont advertise as a German place or Bierhaus, but there's definitely a German influence. Currywurst isn't bad, potato salad is amazing, great burgers, sausage plates, and sandwiches. This is always one of my go-to spots in Chico.

Great place to catch a late night meal. Dishes are well above basic pub fair and service is fantastic. Indoor and outdoor seating. One indoor zone is more sports bar like with screens while there are quieter corners of the place as well.

Portabella muffaletta had great flavor, but I was disappointed with the little amount of portabella that actually came on the sandwich. One portabella cap on the smaller side, it barely covered the center of my sandwich, I’d hope the cooks might realize depending on size of the mushroom they might wanna put two or three on there so it’s actually a meal? Especially since it’s replacing what would be protein. Fries were ok. It took a very long time to get our food even though they weren’t busy. Server was friendly but scattered.

Love the Handle Bar! Great food, great service. It’s around the corner from my house so we pop in occasionally. This review is based on many visits. Lots of constantly changing beers on tap with ciders and other options like wine. Food faves are sausage crostini, spätzle, and the Reuben sandwich! Large portions are good for sharing if you’re a light eater like me.
Food and prices are great (I eat til I get heartburn), fun atmosphere, great service, great selection of drinks that rotate, and very friendly staff that will happily stay a conversation with you.
