I am a BJ's member, and I often bring my family and friends to dine here. Yesterday, I visited the restaurant again, but I felt that the experience at the Chino Hills location was extremely disappointing, and this is not the first time. First, our table was very dirty, with grease stains on it. Then, my favorite fish salad was poorly prepared—the vegetables were not fresh, and the fish was small, scant, and had a dull color. The chicken wings also came in much smaller portions than usual. The front desk staff were not welcoming at all; they weren't friendly and didn't even smile, making it feel like they didn't want us there. Previously at this same restaurant, when I brought some friends, one of them found the plate was very dirty and asked the staff to replace it. I saw that the staff took the plate to the counter by the restroom door, wiped it with a paper towel, and brought it back. My own plate smelled strongly of chemical disinfectant. This location is not far from my home, but I honestly don't want to come back anymore.
We went for the yummy $13.00 special and everything tasted wonderful. Our waiter said he was new but he did an excellent job of taking care of our table of 6 women.
Went for lunch, server was sick, and shouldn’t have been working. Food was brought out after a very extended wait. It was cold and not prepared as requested. Steak was over cooked, salmon smelled very fishy…as in old. The taste of the food left much to be desired, the waiter took very long to return to check up on our table. Will not be returning to BJ’s, very disappointed.
I never write reviews but I had to this time. I love the food but damn!! Why is this place constantly understaffed? The past 4 times i’ve went recently it has taken forever to get my drinks and the servers walk away right after leaving me to wait 20 minutes to order every time. They walk away fast before I am able to ask for ketchup so I have to wait 20 minutes until they feel like ending their conversation with their coworkers and give us time.
Our server today barely checked up on us, and she wasn’t the one giving us our food so I don’t understand why it was hard to give us any time. She said she would come back with refills but she never did. I didn’t get a refill once. After I got my pizookies she mentioned she had dropped the spoon which was all good, mistakes happen. She never brought us a new one? Only until 15 minutes later when she asked if we needed a box did I get the chance to remind her she never gave us our spoon. I’m pretty sure her name was Kaylee but the receipt says Emily. She was a blonde girl.
This place is fantastic, I order steak and shrink scampi it was delicious, my husband love their beers 🍻
The Service from the Server far exceeded the food quality. Everything is expensive these days so going out to eat has to be planned well in advance especially for a small family and if Im going to spend $200 on burned deep dish pizza, non fresh salads and pasta with almost dry alfredo sauce, then it was $200 tossed in the trash and a long awaited dining experience that I was looking forward to turned into a big disappointment.
To Whom It May Concern,
I’ve had recurring issues at this BJ’s location, ranging from incorrect charges to unsatisfactory hospitality, and unfortunately, my most recent visit was no different.
I’d like to clarify that I don’t intend to make any assumptions or sound discriminatory, but I couldn’t help noticing what felt like a difference in the level of service we received compared to other guests. Our server, Kayla C, was polite but noticeably less engaged with our table. In contrast, we observed her being very warm and energetic with another table nearby, where the guest happened to be a Black woman. Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but the difference in tone and attentiveness was stark and left us feeling uncomfortable.
The service became especially concerning when my son found a hair strand in his boneless wings from the kids’ menu. When we brought it to Kayla’s attention, she responded with something like , “OK, what do you want me to do?”—with no apology or offer to replace the item. The wings were removed from the table, but when the check arrived, we were still charged for them. This felt unacceptable, particularly given that this was supposed to be a celebration for my son’s 13th birthday.
Additionally, there were multiple errors on our bill. When we pointed them out, it seemed as though Kayla was frustrated with us, despite the mistakes originating from her end. Even after one correction, there was still an error that needed to be addressed. Upon returning to the table for the final time, her tone was terse, asking, “Is that all?” in a manner that came off as rude.
In the end, the bill was corrected, but the overall experience was disappointing and far below what I’ve come to expect from a BJ’s restaurant. I’m not writing this to be harsh, but I do hope we do not have Kayla C as our server again. Due to this experience, I do not plan to return to the Chino Hills location anytime soon.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider our experience.
Our server was Great very attentive don't remember her name but really good
I just wanted to shout out server Thuy H for her amazing service. My husband and I visited BJ’s with our two your old this past weekend and for those who have toddlers, you know it’s always an unpredictable experience when deciding to eat out at a restaurant with them. Without even asking, Thuy brought out a bag of goldfish and a small fruit salad for our son to enjoy while we waited to place our order and receive our food. This small gesture was so thoughtful and kept our son busy enjoying his little snacks before lunch. She did a great job anticipating our needs and made the experience the best we’ve had at BJ’s!
Went here after work to meet up with my brother and his wife for some drinks. I had two glasses of the tatanka stout and tried the double mango IPA all 3 were excellent IMHO!
I then decided to try the jambalaya plate for dinner 🍽️ which turned out to be really delicious 🤤 especially when you haven't ate nothing all day, as you can see in my before and after pics of my plate. But I must say that asking for the extra sauce on the side set the jambalaya over the top for me! Next visit I will try it with some pasta to see which one turns out to be the best.
Next time we're working in the area I definitely have to go back again, everybody was nice and welcoming for a first timer to the restaurant. And the atmosphere made it that much better plus we had a table in the bar for happy hour👍🏽

Amazing! Great service and food. Just wish the margaritas had more flavor but it's BJ's, should have just ordered a beer
Everything was great! We had my niece graduation party here, and everything was perfect 👌
We ordered online. The order was incomplete, plus they did not have the drinks that we ordered and they replaced it without asking us with the drink of their choice. It would be nice if they'd ask what we would like it to be replaced with since I am paying for it anyway.
Delicious 🤤 my husband had a steak that was so juicy, I had the burger and our chef Taher (I might be spelling it wrong) cooked it to perfection. Pazooki was amazing! The ice cream so fluffy!
People, place OK to very good to great. Polite folks, very good service. music too loud for conversation at table. food fair to poor - presentation OK, ribeye looked like a steak at supermarket for $5 special, end of day, but or throw out special, cooked properly, asparagus limp and anemic (7 stalks equaling to the size of kindergartner's large crayon) appetizer chips easily broken very thin, broke in dip often Overall, spent too much money for the experience, will not go back soon or often as there are other places that perform better Too bad, local t me, would like to like the place, son used to be a chef for BJ's in the 2010 timelines and was looking forward to an enjoyable time, which was had by the company but not by the food
