“I'm not someone who craves American food every day, but every now and then, nothing satisfies quite like a great crafted burger.

Back in the 1990s, neighborhood burger joints were everywhere. Every town seemed to have its own local favorite, where burgers were grilled to order with unmistakable character. Those places made crafted burgers one of my all-time favorite comfort foods. Unfortunately, as national chains steadily expanded over the past two decades, many of those independent burger shops quietly disappeared. Finding a true old-school burger joint today feels almost like searching for a hidden treasure.

With that nostalgia in mind, I visited The Stand hoping to rediscover some of that magic. We ordered the restaurant's Stand Burger, the Ultimate Egg Burger, and the Chinese Chicken Chop Salad.

Let's start with the positives. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was appealing, and everything was prepared with care. The Chinese Chicken Chop Salad was particularly enjoyable, offering crisp vegetables, well-seasoned chicken, and a balanced dressing that made it more than just a side dish.

The burgers, however, left me wanting just a little more.

As someone who has very high expectations for crafted burgers, I'm looking for that unforgettable first bite—the smoky aroma from the grill, the rich beef flavor that fills your mouth, and a juicy patty with enough personality to stand on its own. While both burgers were certainly well above typical fast-food standards, they didn't quite deliver the depth of flavor or distinctive character I associate with truly exceptional crafted burgers.

To be clear, this isn't a criticism of quality. These are good burgers, and they're unquestionably a step above the mass-produced offerings of traditional fast-food chains. But for me, they still carry a level of consistency and polish that feels closer to a well-executed franchise concept than to a neighborhood burger shop with its own unique identity.

Of course, taste is deeply personal. My expectations are shaped by years of searching for those unforgettable local burger joints that seem to be disappearing from the American dining landscape. Someone looking for a fresh, satisfying, and consistently well-made burger will likely leave very happy. Those chasing the nostalgic, one-of-a-kind flavor of a classic independent burger stand, however, may come away wishing for just a bit more soul.

In the end, The Stand succeeds as a polished, reliable modern burger restaurant. It simply didn't rekindle the memories of the handcrafted burgers I grew up loving—and perhaps that's less a reflection of The Stand than of how rare those old neighborhood burger shops have become.”

“The food here is absolutely delicious. They serve truly authentic Korean cuisine, and the overall food quality is top-notch. You must try the Mul-Naengmyeon (cold noodle soup), Bibim-Naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles), and especially the LA Galbi. The short ribs are cut thick, cooked to perfection, and the quality is noticeably better than other places. If you want to experience authentic Korean food in Chino Hills, I highly recommend this spot!”

“They had a shrimp taco special as you can see in one of these specials at the counter it was three tacos for like 12 something and I asked for them to be soft tacos and she said they don't soft tacos or five at the age of disappointed with that. So I took off one star. I feel switching the tortilla from a hard shell to a social shouldn't be a big deal but they wouldn't do it so I was disappointed. Other than that the shrimp tacos I ordered were a little disappointing only two little shrimps you need to talk when they were overstuffed which was nice but it was all full of the tomato salsa and stuffing as you can see in the other image you have to really search to find the shrimp which was not very good either specially for charging over $5 per Taco. I didn't pay for a salad I paid for a taco. My husband had the fish and chips and said they were okay I thought they were good but nothing great but they were at least better than Gordon's fish sticks. So I think next time we come back which we will return we will both get different dishes. Other than that the ambience is really nice as you can see from other pictures and the service was good the decor in seating were nice so it's a good place and they were rather full once we got there the Hardy able to find a sea but we did find a table for two. So I would recommend this place, I'll just be careful what I order next time and not order the same things. That said if I get disappointed one more time at the way the food comes out I probably would not be returning again.”

This one was a little disappointing.

Service: the people here were kind but there were mistakes in our order.
Also my vanilla shake was so thick, I needed a spoon. Not sure if this is operator error but I didn't enjoy it. I prefer the texture of a good milkshake.

Food: it tasted great as usual. But we got a wrong sandwich. They rectified it. My milkshake wasn't. It was like a blob of ice cream.

Venue: eating area was clean and comfortable. The restroom was not.”

“Went there for breakfast on Saturday early (8:30) to beat the rush. Only waited 20 minutes. Had belly to belly, creme brulee french toast. avocado toast, and two orders of the berry cloud pancakes. For drinks we had classic coffee, Pandan latte, Spanish latte, and Cookie? latte. Both drinks and food were great. Only complaint is that we order the 2nd pancake a few minutes late and it didn't arrive till most of us were finished. Be warned .. get your orders in for the cloud pancakes early. It will take 20-30 minutes to arrive.”

“I discovered Chaos Bubble Shoppe through the Too Good to Go app.,it is incredible that I get THREE beverages for $6. I also began sampling the rice balls and have two more to go to have tried them all. Delicious!! I got a signature tea (today was roasted oolong tea, toffee is my favorite), a milk tea with boba (today was toasted oolong milk tea) and one of my favorite fruit teas with boba, cactus passion tea. I have tried at least 20 different drinks and enjoyed all of them. The staff is friendly and professional, worth a stop whether you just want a drink or some delicious food. Highly recommend!! Truly a hidden gem!!”

“We recently found this gem of a place and were warmly welcomed and constantly attended to. Now, mind you, this was on a Monday morning at 9:30am when most people are working; however, people should realize that weekends are much busier times for dining and plan accordingly! The atmosphere was awesome, warm and welcoming. We were attended to by no less than 4 different people making sure we were cared for; the food was very fresh (they have vegan options too) and the coffee was yum. When I heard the name of this place, I knew it would be fantastic; check it out and see what you think.”

The bbq pork was my favorite I love that they served it sliced thin I don’t like when other places serve the huge chunks of meat here it’s sliced thin and it’s good quality. Left super full and satisfied they gave me a punch card for returning customers buy 10 combos Bs and get one free which is a nice gesture considering nobody else I’ve tried has done this. Definitely will be returning when I’m in the area. I gave the atmosphere 4 out of 5 cuz it was warm in there. Other than that great spot!”

The staff were very thoughtful and kept the fried dish uncovered in the to-go bag to maintain the crispiness. After the car ride home, it was still crispy and yummy. Overall the food was pretty good and a hit with most of the people. Some of the dishes were a bit salty, but that was expected from this type of establishment.”

We enjoyed immensely that dumplings that we had. We enjoyed a very very much. We wish we would’ve ordered the pork and the other meat items, but we just could only eat so much. “best sandwich always”

“I was really hyped about this place opening to add to the variety of Korean food around Chino Hills. Soonheene is very popular in South Korea which led me to add this place to my must try list of restaurants, they're known for their amazing street food and it didn't disappoint at all.

Staff were incredibly quick, attentive, and were very friendly in all aspects. Parking is plentiful, clean restroom, and a moderate amount of seating inside the restaurant. The interior is well maintained and just has good vibes when entering, there's also a TV on the wall that plays many variety shows to express just how popular this place is in South Korea.

1. We ordered their signature Tteokbokki and it comes in a decent amount of portions, a great shareable dish and very flavorful when it comes to the mix of sauce, rice cake, and fish cake. There's also a rose version which I also recommend. The Tteokbokki were savory and also not hard to crunch on, cooked perfectly and very enjoyable and addicting.

2. Another must try item is the Mayak Gimbap, comes in 8 pieces, another shareable dish. It's also very well made, with a mix of meat and vegetables, a decent appetizer to the main course.

3. The Oden Fish Cake Soup is also a classic street food signature dish to try. Highly recommend if you're a fan of fish cake, comes in a stick form which is a easy pick-me-up type food. Not too salty and is flavorful as well.

4. The Roasted Kimchi Pork Belly was the main dish we had as a shareable. I cannot fathom how well made this dish is made. The pork belly is super savory, chewy, and flavorful, mixes well with all the side garnishes and sauces.
Overall, Soonheene is definitely a good place for many occasions, dates, take out, and moderate size groups.

“I have been craving to try boat noodle soup ($15.95) since I've seen it online. It is a blood-based soup so it's a dark brown but the taste is not noticeable. It comes with thin noodles, sliced beef, pork meatballs, green onions, pork rinds, Thai basil, and cilantro. They do have a Thai level of spicy and they do warn that they do not to re-makes of dishes.

I also got their pork jerky which came with a side of spicy fish sauce dip.

“Stopped by 7 Leaves during a recent heatwave while visiting in the area - first - while its still around - make sure you try out their Brazilian Lemonade! It's simple - fresh lime juice, ice and condensed milk - but sooo good. Literally replaced (temporarily since it's a seasonal drink) my favorite House Coffee with Sea Cream.

Anyway, wanted to stop by to pick up some cold drinks and get their gift card pack.

This location is directly on your left as you drive into the shopping center. There's a drive-thru - so you don't have to leave the comfort of your car - but I opted to walk in since I wanted to snap photos of the interior.

Plenty of seating throughout the store (I didn't take one side of tables/chairs because it was fully occupied and I feel weird snapping photos of people without asking them).

Service was awesome. The employee had to check if they still had gift cards left - but was super helpful and pointed out that a gift card either gets the recipient a regular-sized drink with topping, OR a large sized drink no topping.

OH - and another plus - they blast the AC in here - so its the perfect refuge to sip coffee while working on your laptop or reading a book during a relentless heatwave!”

Gen Korean BBQ is one of my favorite places to enjoy Korean BBQ. The price is reasonable, the meat is always fresh, and I find myself coming back regularly whenever I’m craving good beef.

One thing I especially appreciate is that they upgraded their chopsticks. They’re much more comfortable to use and don’t have the rough edges or splinters that some disposable chopsticks have. It’s a small detail, but it definitely improves the dining experience.

The only area that could use some improvement is the lunch service speed. Food can take a little longer to arrive during busy hours, but it’s understandable when a single server is handling a large number of tables. Hopefully they can schedule a few more staff members during lunch rushes to help speed things up.

Overall, great value, quality food, and a restaurant I will continue to visit.”

The regular Charburger is much lighter and fresher—perfect for a summer day.

And the sweet potato fries with Classic Ranch are a must. They’re not super crispy on the outside, but the sweet potato is so sweet and delicious. Definitely my favorite! 🍠”

“Haven't had much of the food here but the pastries are standard good. Like most Paneras (I've been to tons across the country), it's always slightly dirty (tables aren't cleaned regularly and area gets dusty and messy with food scraps, napkins, etc.) since they don't seem to clean often. But the ambience is top notch if you want a busy cafe (I do for studying) with regulars. Usually a lot of high school students in the afternoon but also plenty of other folks from around the surrounding cities. Staff is generally accommodating and friendly. And the Shoppes in general are nice with plenty of things to eat and see outside (Barnes and Noble, etc). Outside of the lack of cleaner tables/floors/restrooms, this is one of my favorite Paneras to get work done or meet friends.

“Came in with zero expectations, just wanted to destroy a mountain of food. Surprisingly solid meat quality and selection. Most of the sides were good too, just not the corn & cheese and the golden oyster roll. Those missed.

Service was fine at first, then a wave of people hit and everything slowed down hard. Only two people running the host stand and dining area, so that tracks.

Also found out you can get scoops of ice cream even though it’s not on the menu. Only knew because we saw the table next to us get some. Hidden little win.

Better than expected for a random “feed me” mission.”

“The Italian food here is so delicious and authentic! Our favorites were the roasted porchetta pinsa, shrimp scampi and gnocchi al ragu. The affogato was perfect on a hot day and the tiramisu and cannoli were great sweet treats. The staff is super friendly, the interior is very cute, and there is seating inside and outside. This is such a great spot to have at the Chino Hills Shoppes. Definitely visit when you are in the area!”

“Great meal here. Had the Crab Fried Rice, Pad See Ew, and Pad Thai, portions were generous and flavors were well balanced, not overly salty or sweet. Prices are fair for the quality and quantity you get.

The interior is clean and comfortable, and the open kitchen is a nice touch, you can see the food being prepared which adds to the sense of cleanliness. Service was solid throughout the meal.

Would definitely come back next time I’m in the area.”

“The staff are friendly. The pumpkin smoothie tasted like bananas with spice. It also looks nothing like the pic. Not a fan. I wanted to try more items like the watermelon juice, the energy bites etc but they were out of alot of items.
The mushroom burrata toast was delicious. A Lil heavy on the lemon/citrus flavor. But overall good.
The handmade gourmet granola bar was definitely the shining star today. It was so nice I had to buy it twice. Loved the granola bar. Delicious and nutritious with all the ingredients in it.”

“Absolutely loved my experience at PS I Crepe You! The inside is so pretty and thoughtfully decorated — it has such a cute, aesthetic that makes it feel really welcoming and perfect for grabbing a sweet treat or hanging out for a bit.

One thing to note is that ordering is done entirely through an iPad, which actually made the process easy for my teenager but not for me.

The menu allows customizing everything.

We’ve been to many Thai restaurants and the food is always good as expected - but Le Kinaree Thai Eatery took it a higher level. Almost everything we ordered was spot on. ( I said almost because the squid appetizer was chewy).
Each curry flavor offered a very good distinct taste that really highlighted the ingredients.
Nice atmosphere, good lighting, friendly service and lots of parking too.
From the appetizers, to the main courses down to the desserts, and of course the 5 stars service - we had a wonderful time, definitely recommended!!!”

“Talk about a burrito.... I don't know what they do to make it so good but I swear every bite you get everything you ask for with this. First time trying Eggbred and they've got a lot of options! When I go back I'll for sure go for a burger to expand my lunch options.

The chorizo breakfast burrito wasn't too oily, it was fluffy, packed with the potatoes and meat and egg, and by the time I was finished I didn't feel overly horrible but just the right amount of full. I like the light environment around the restaurant, keeping the yellow theme. Green salsa is top tier and the red salsa isn't as spicy as it looks. I'll be back!!”

“Our second time here n it hit the spot again! We ordered the same plates bc we enjoyed them so much the first time , but definitely want to explore the menu more . We ordered the orange chicken and it’s my favorite from any other orange chicken I’ve had. It has fresh orange peel , spicy dry chilis , and the batter is light . The wok fried green beans have a delicious salty and garlic seasoning , soo yum. The steamed pork dumplings are most likely made in house- they are juicy and fresh . It’s a family run spot , they are very sweet. We appreciate them and their cooking!!”

“Absolutely astounded with the expansion of 3CAT series to Chino Hills. This spot specifically is smaller than the other locations I've been to, limited seating, and no public restrooms at this location, although you can find restroom easily as it's in a outdoor shopping center. Can get super busy during peak hours but is accommodated by their two self ordering kiosks. Shop itself is very minimalist vibe but is very clean and modern style. 10/10. Staff is pretty quick with the orders but I always order on their mobile app Snackpass to get rewards. (Every 10 cups = 1 free drink of
choice.)

Parking here is easy, although gets busy at times all around the lot. Certain spots are paid but it's mostly free and in walking distance. I've tried most of their drinks here and it's always just super refreshing and addicting.

Mochi Barley Burst
Osmanthus Oolong Milk Tea
Jade Matcha

They have seasonal drinks here which I haven't tried but definitely worth a look.”

“I have been here several times. The food is really good. Everything is cooked as soon as you order the meal. All the different meats are tender. You can watch the chefs as they prepare your food. The food is well seasoned. Yes I will return!”
