“Was visiting from out of town and decided to pick up food for the family. The service was great and we were able to talk to who I presume was the owner, and he was friendly and patient with us. The food does take time to get but only because everything is made fresh to order. I much rather wait and get freshly prepared food. The food it self was delicious. Very generous portions. I would highly recommend this place. Great environment with amazing food. If you looking for some great teriyaki and delicious Mexican food then come check this place out. Food worth the price. “Small, family run business tucked into the corner of a predominately latin center. There may not be wide selection of entrees to choose from, but what is here is good and the portions are generous. You'll find prepared favorites like orange chicken, kung pao, black pepper and, my favorite, spicy fish. They also have a selection of made to order items such as Mongolian beef and mixed vegetables with tofu. Drinks include boba, slushes, milks and canned sodas. We've been coming here for several years and service has always been friendly. Prices are competitive to the surrounding area, but I feel that the quality at nearby Chinese restaurants has gone down while NBC has remained consistent.”

The staff is friendly and accommodating -especially Dario, he took his time to explain their cooking process, how the patties are made, and even went over all the sauces with us. Oh, did I mention their fries? They are fried in beef tallow and are incredibly addicting! Portion sizes were more than enough. Will be coming back!”

I've now forgotten the wheat ale I ordered, but it was local and it was good. The brisket sandwich I ordered was outstanding. We must have hit the bartender at a bad moment because when we arrived he didn't seem too keen on our arrival. When I asked what beer was new or something he could recommend, he kind of blew me off. Thought it kind of odd. But, he did come around and grew pretty chill as our lunch progressed. Chalk it up to a bad moment that I don't think had anything to do with us. All in all, I like the Rookery; hanging out on the back patio with a microbrew and a sandwich was exactly what I was looking for.”

“I’ve come here daily for weeks since its conveniently right next to my job.

When the food is made fresh it’s as good as any other Mexican food in Pomona.

My only grievance is what feels like a lack of appreciation for customers who spend their money with them daily.

I had one of their rewards cards where you get a sticker for every visit with a purchase over $5.99. I was 2 stickers away from the free combo and somehow lost the card. I came the next day and asked for a new one and if they could at least credit me for the first row. Got told “that’s too bad, sorry”.

Maybe I’m being entitled but that kind of rubbed me the wrong way.

Burrito I got today was fire. they charge $1 for fries instead of regular boiled potatoes inside of a Cali burrito the way it’s supposed to be made but I pay it every time lol.”

“Had lunch today at RKR (Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch after seeing the article in the Daily Bulletin. The lovely Mrs. C and I both had the hangar steak with roasted brussels sprouts and fries. I opted to have the fries upgraded to the truffle parmesan version. As with our previous visit, the food was excellent. The brussels sprouts were roasted with a great char and were tender instead of mushy or overly crispy. The parmesan truffle fries had finely shredded chesses and flecks of truffle evenly coating the fries. The last time I had truffle fries in a restaurant they had the parmesan but with a drizzle of truffle oil. This was a very pleasant surprise. The steak was sliced with a light peppercorn sauce which did not overpower the steak but added to it. Of course, the restaurant is a teaching venue with students from the Collins School of Hospitality so service was attentive and excellent. To our meal we each had a glass of a Syrah blend wine and we shared an apple crumble dessert with Fosselman's vanilla ice cream (yummy). The dining room overlooking the hills of Cal Poly with the 57 freeway barely visible in the distance was, as always, part of the appeal of this location. Price for our meal (before tip) was $91. A very good value for the quality of food and experience. I'm sure we'll be back soon.”

I didn't get sesame seeds, don't know if it's an option, but overall the food was still good. I kinda wish they charged a little more and gave more proteins in their meals. I had the chicken and beef combo. Their teriyaki sauce is goof and what you expect it to be. The char is nice on the chicken and the beef was tender. I will be back and I guess I'll ask if extra meat is a thing? Oh and I'll ask for sesame seeds and green onions.”

“I was on my way to West Covina and needed to make a stop to charge my car. It was also time for lunch and Pomona Pizza Co. Is in the same shopping center as the charger and a quick little walk. It tastes like matcha not too grassy because they add the perfect amount and mix it correctly. The popcorn chicken is a must a tiny bit spicy but my daughter loved it too much she ate everything. “I had an absolutely unacceptable experience at this new Popeyes location. I went in at a slow time, calmly asked for specific cuts to meet my macro goals, and they completely ignored me. What should have been a simple, customized order was just thrown together with no care. The staff seemed disengaged, just chatting and giggling. If they don’t take customer instructions seriously, I can’t recommend them. They need a serious overhaul in training and attention to detail.

And next time offer some complimentary chicken and people will keep their mouths shut.”
