“A Hidden Gem That Feels Like the French Quarter Itself! From the moment we stepped into The Quarter in Claremont, it was like being whisked straight to New Orleans. The atmosphere was electric — the scent of Creole spices in the air, the soft hum of conversation mingled with jazz playing in the background, and the decor that looked plucked right out of the French Quarter. I half-expected to walk outside and find a brass band on the corner! We started with the soft-shelled crab and grits, perfectly crisp and full of Southern comfort. The fried catfish topped with crawfish étouffée was rich, flavorful, and absolutely indulgent — pure Louisiana soul on a plate. The roasted catfish with lump crab was delicate yet decadent, each bite melting in your mouth. Even the bread and butter were unforgettable — the sweet Creole butter was so good we could’ve made a meal out of it alone. Our bourbon cocktails were spot-on — smooth, balanced, and crafted with care — and we finished with the bread pudding drizzled in warm bourbon sauce, which was heavenly. Every dish was layered with flavor and heart. A special shoutout to José, our server, who was not only attentive and friendly but truly made us feel like family. His recommendations were perfect! We live three and a half hours away, but honestly, I’d make the drive again just for a date night here. It’s that good. The Quarter doesn’t just serve food — it serves an experience.”

“This is such a hidden gem, the food is fresh, fast, and really affordable. I would recommend their rice rolls, it’s one of those dishes you can’t get at very many other restaurants. Definitely get the cucumber salad too, it’s a classic and they do a great job.”

“Ironbark is a very nice local brewery! They make and serve hard cider, there are some other drinks available and food trucks visit on the weekends with a variety of cuisine. There are musical events, pub, trivia, bingo, and Friday karaoke, as well as a monthly open mic night. It is a great friendly café type atmosphere and an LGBTQ+ safe space!”

“Scrumptious, moist, and irresistible describes the cake I ordered from Some Crust for my mother’s memorial service reception. The cake was impeccably crafted and the designers decorated it in exactly the manner in which we requested, “Not too much.” The frosting was strikingly smooth and the piping adorned only the bottom of the cake, ensuring the decoration was not too much. The colors of the yellow and red roses and the green leaves on top of the cake were tastefully muted and maintained the minimal emphasis of the decorations. It was a spice cake in which all the flavors blended perfectly without one flavor standing out too predominantly. It was delivered exactly at the time it was scheduled to arrive at the location. I highly recommend this bakery when you have an occasion that requires a specialty cake.”

“My family stumbled across Aladdin yesterday tucked away by Trader Joe’s. The shop is slightly run down but we were welcomed in by Wally who treated us like his most beloved children who he needed to feed with love and care. We had excellent menu suggestions and when we ordered the empanadas he insisted we try all the kinds and threw in an extra. The beef and chicken empanadas were the clear winners with the beef delicately spiced. My daughter had the falafel which was crispy and delicious. My husband I both had the chicken kebabs which had been long-marinated and came out golden and perfectly cooked. Wally didn’t want us to miss the chicken shawarma so he piled some of that on our meals, as well. Also tender and golden and perfect. Each meal came with exquisitely creamy homemade hummus and basmati rice. The grilled peppers were charred and smoky and like something out of the most expensive Middle Eastern restaurant you’ve ever eaten at. I’d go back just for those. I ordered the tzatziki as one of my sides and it was cool, creamy and full of dill and crispy cucumber. The pita was excellent on the side. I won’t forget this restaurant visit for a long time. I left well fed with the excellent food, but even more so feeling like I’d just been fed by an old friend.”

Tried the beef bowl and the wing bowl with spicy noodle and lemon pepper wings -- the rice was perfectly cooked and the meats and noodles where incredible. The servings are very generous as well, we both left stuffed.

The wait wasn't too bad considering everything was cooked fresh but apparently there's an order ahead option if you don't want to wait as long. They were playing good music and the noise level was such that we could hear each other but didn't feel like everyone was listening to our conversation.”

The back patio was infested with flies, we couldn't eat trying to swat them off our dishes. It's gone downbin quality andvup in prices. 1 star rating, the health department needs to be called for indpection.”

“I've been going to Viva Madrid since about 2008 and I always get a variety of their tapas. Many of the same ones every time. I've introduced this restaurant to more then 20+ people who now take their friends and families. The food is delicious but lately I'm having to ask for extra sauce on the chicken empanada (which is my favorite) and the spicy potatoes. If you don't, half will be without sauce and will be dry. Also try their red Sangria. It's delicious.”

The broth of the pho was heavenly, and it came with so many noodles and meat, they don't skip out on everything here and you’re not going to finish everything with 90% of the broth left. “This was my first time going to Dog Haus and it was a great Friday night! They have quite an extensive menu of beers and dogs/sausages. They also had a whole breakfast burrito menu and sides such as tots, fries, and onion rings. If you're not into beer they also have cocktails available. The set up is you order at the bar as soon as you walk in and then they bring it out to your table. I got the downtown dog, a blonde beer, and an order of the chili tots with cole slaw on top. It was all very tasty and the perfect salty bar food to go with my beer. Later on in the night I also got a strawberry vodka drink that was very tasty. My hot dog was a take on LA street dogs. The bun was soft and the dog was juicy. It had bacon bits, Ketchup, mustard, mayo, peppers, and onions. The space itself has a variety of seating options including long communal tables which is great if you're wanting to gather with a lot of people. The ordering at the bar makes it convenient to not have to split tabs at the end of a meal. All the ppl working were friendly and helpful when I had questions about the beers and menu. The outdoor patio was great and has corn hole, a oversized connect 4, and TVs for game day viewing. They also had very reasonable prices! I saw a couple of parents with their kids, a group of guys gathering , and a couple on a date. It's a very versatile space. They even had space heaters for the patio! I will definitely be back as they had so many menu items I wanted to try!

“I've been going to Viva Madrid since about 2008 and I always get a variety of their tapas. Many of the same ones every time. I've introduced this restaurant to more then 20+ people who now take their friends and families. The food is delicious but lately I'm having to ask for extra sauce on the chicken empanada (which is my favorite) and the spicy potatoes. If you don't, half will be without sauce and will be dry. Also try their red Sangria. It's delicious.”

“My stepdad is really struggling with his health, and had enjoyed boba previously. I stopped by overwhelmed with grief and hoping to add some joy to a really trying time. The woman behind the counter, Rowina, was not only accommodating but incredibly kind and thoughtful in helping prepare an assortment of delicious things for my stepdad to enjoy. It was a welcoming environment that helped make a really rough time in my life feel more easeful. I'm so so grateful and highly recommend this place to all. I hope to be back soon under better circumstances.
