“This place was absolutely delicious. The staff were so kind. We went during lunch and they were a bit busy. I went with the enchiladas con papa and the sauce was so good. You can tell it’s made with love. We also ordered the birria tacos and those were delicious. The atmosphere itself was nice, and there was plenty of seating available when we were there. “This restaurant is absolutely phenomenal. The atmosphere is warm and friendly which is evident from all interactions with every staff member. The food and service are excellent in every sense of the word. The bread and baklava were made fresh! The Turkish Delights were phenomenal. The owner and staff went to great lengths to make us feel comfortable and welcome, explaining the menu items in detail. We are so excited to have come across this gem!!! It is the type of culinary and cultural experience that my husband and I treasure. We will be coming again soon, both with and without friends! First time was Valentine's Day meal that we loved so much that we took our college-age children and their significant others for a special birthday meal. They were impressed with the food, the presentation, the wine, the service, the view, all of it, and said they plan to also come back for special event meals. Hidden gem! Menu selections are creative, memorable, delicious and priced better than any other place around that serves food of this level. Service is friendly and attentive. Cal Poly Pomona students do the work at RKR, and it feels good to support the cause. Usually only open part of the year when college courses are in session, but we're excited to hear from our server that there are plans to expand service to summer also. A professor from the college was on hand to oversee the experience and was delightful & gracious to talk with and learn from (her knowledge of wine is extensive & informative).“

I usually get delivery because I don't like the location of where this is. If it wasn't located where it is I would definitely be going there quite often. “Located right next to Cal Poly college, Jinza Teriyaki is a great spot to eat after classes, my all time favorite is the Loco Moco bowl. The people are incredibly nice and especially early the place is a nice quite area to eat in. My only wish is that they would open earlier as someone who's out n about by 7am, but I understand not wanting to open at the crack of dawn.“

“The tamales were the real deal! I loved them! None of that frozen food junk, they looked and tasted like I made them at home. I've learned that the quality of tamales and salsa at any restaurant are a sign of how good the rest of the menu is and its authenticity. Maria's nailed it! The breakfast burritos were monstrous and deliciously perfect! My sons not only devoured them, they actually got full lol And the chilaquiles were actually chilaquiles and delicious, I could tell because my daughter finished her plate:)Totally worth it. They even have a fresh bakery with all the varieties of pan dulce we love and more. They also have restaurant seating with plenty of room for the whole familia. “Pretty good selection of micro-brews. It may be a little smaller than the offering they had when they were located a few doors down at the corner of Gary & 2nd, but it's good enough. I've now forgotten the wheat ale I ordered, but it was local and it was good. The brisket sandwich I ordered was outstanding. We must have hit the bartender at a bad moment because when we arrived he didn't seem too keen on our arrival. When I asked what beer was new or something he could recommend, he kind of blew me off. Thought it kind of odd. But, he did come around and grew pretty chill as our lunch progressed. Chalk it up to a bad moment that I don't think had anything to do with us. All in all, I like the Rookery; hanging out on the back patio with a microbrew and a sandwich was exactly what I was looking for.“

“The drive through line was extremely long wait time. it was longer than standard. the brief interaction I had with the lady at window was fine. I ordered a pastrami sandwich fries and drink. The pastrami was tasty but was not cut up enough. Every time I took a bite large pieces of pastrami would slide out the sandwich and I would have to hurry up and eat. They really should chop it smaller. the fries were surprisingly tasty normally places like this the fries are limp and tasteless or heavily season salted but these were perfect. I am never in this area but if I happen to be out there I'd try again.“

“I was looking for a place nearby on my lunch break - and was craving teriyaki. Price is decent for portion. I got a chicken and beef teriyaki bowl, and the food was very savory. I just wish they added a scoop of veggies to make it a more balanced meal. But still tasty.“

“It’s a Mom and Pop spot where they make all the food to order so it might be a 15-20 minute wait time but it’s definitely worth it. Everything on the menu was cheap and came with big portions. I’ll definitely be stopping by again.“

“I love Yume’s bahn mi. It’s tasty, cheap for a good portion ($9.42 with tax), and comes out quickly. I’ve also had the combination fried rice, and it was very good as well. There is some indoor seating and plenty of outdoor tables. The owner is super nice as well!“

I ordered the combination taco plate, and my boyfriend got five tacos. The asada was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the horchata was absolutely delicious. We cleaned our plates and enjoyed every bite. We would definitely recommend this spot and will absolutely be coming back!“

I think for the price they could serve larger portions and the $1 “custom” card charge is a little steep. I’d be reluctant to go back because of the price but if you’re in the area and craving Indian food, this place is a solid option.

They have an express style set up like the Chinese food spots and a range of options you can have made fresh to order.“

“I grew up at a time of Chuck e cheese, were the pizza was bad but the games were fun. My wife and I came here recently and they have cool arcade games which we didn't play, but the pizza turned out really well. And the hostess was really sweet.
We got a meat lovers Pizza. The crust was nice and fluffy.“

They're taco salad can serve three people it is so big so much chicken it's amazing you have to try the chicken tacos those are great and their chicken boil boil with pinto beans rice chicken cheese it's also amazing. This time I went for Friday Lenten fish lunch and ordered cod. I took my time to savor the coating and the fish. Coating was definitely southern in style (not English batter) and had good flavor with a hint of spiciness to it. Not salty like before either or cornbread heavy. Very balanced. Fish was a bit thin but the portion was generous in the number of pieces (5). The hush puppies had a bit of bite to them from perhaps a green pepper. French fries were good. Tarter sauce good but would have liked more for the large portion of fish. Will definitely come back and I now recommend! Only reason for a four star rating was that I had to wait an hour for my order (I left and came back) and the portion of tarter sauce was too small.

First time here and will likely be my last. Ordered the lunch special with fried cod, which was reasonably priced $9.75, including a drink. Meal included fried cod, hush, puppies, fried shrimp, french fries, a very small amount of tartar sauce, hot sauce and ketchup. Batter on the cod and shrimp was cornmeal, and had a bit too much black pepper in it. Cod was tasteless and overwhelmed by the batter. Shrimp had a bit more flavor but were very small. Hush puppies were tasty but not the reason why I came here. Overall, a charming location with a lot of history, but whose time has likely passed.“
