“Haven't had much of the food here but the pastries are standard good. Like most Paneras (I've been to tons across the country), it's always slightly dirty (tables aren't cleaned regularly and area gets dusty and messy with food scraps, napkins, etc.) since they don't seem to clean often. But the ambience is top notch if you want a busy cafe (I do for studying) with regulars. Usually a lot of high school students in the afternoon but also plenty of other folks from around the surrounding cities. Staff is generally accommodating and friendly. And the Shoppes in general are nice with plenty of things to eat and see outside (Barnes and Noble, etc). Outside of the lack of cleaner tables/floors/restrooms, this is one of my favorite Paneras to get work done or meet friends.

My experience at Sweet Savory Cafe surpassed my experiences at other cafes in Pasadena, Claremont, and Upland. I arrived early and enjoyed warm cookies and bread, which were absolutely delicious. I ordered various items including coffee, soup, breakfast, and bakery items. Despite not being a coffee drinker, I found the coffee to be delicious and memorable. Cal Poly Pomona students do the work at RKR, and it feels good to support the cause. I explained our needs and the staff were extremely kind and gracious, generously providing me with a wonderful selection of donuts for the dads and children attending our event. The donuts were fresh, faithfully and artfully prepared, and boxed and sold with a kindness. The shop is small but the heart and the service are very large indeed! “OK, YUM!! I’ve been on a huge hojicha kick lately since the caffeine is usually gentler than matcha. I’ve had bad luck in the past with shops giving me massive servings (37g!) that kept me up all night, so I’m always a bit cautious.

I finally decided to try Smoking Tiger after seeing them all over socal, and I’m so glad I did! I told the staff I’m super caffeine sensitive, and they were incredibly accommodating, offering to make alterations just for me. Love that attention to detail! I'll be a regular from now on!
