As a soymilk king, I must comment.Soy milk: This soy milk is real soy milk and will freezeGua Bao: A must order. As a Taiwanese, the best Gua Bao I have ever eaten is in the United States! The sauerkraut is really amazing! It’s not a soymilk shop at all, it’s a steamed bun shop!Shaobing and fried dough sticks: I didn’t understand this thing before. Oh my God, this Shaobing is too thick. I fell in love with Shaobing and fried dough sticks for the first time in my life...Rice balls: rice balls with lots of ingredients and solid ingredients that you can’t go wrong withBeef Noodles: Being able to eat beef noodles like this in the United States is already very satisfying.Shredded chicken porridge, refrigerator chicken, and scallion pancakes are all ordinary.

The store requires tipping and has a very bad attitude. The original intention of tipping is to encourage and thank the waiter for his service, but the waiter at this Yimei store insists on tipping, has a bad attitude, and even refuses to give you a tip and refuses to let you leave! Serving and collecting dishes is originally the job of the waiter and should not be regarded as service. After we were seated, no one came to refill our water or ask how our meal was. I didn't experience any service at all, so why should I tip? The tipping culture in American Chinese restaurants is really out of control! This place forces tipping, and the staff's attitude is awful. Tipping is meant to reward good service, but here they demand it and act rude about it. They won't even let you leave if you don't tip. Serving food and clearing tables are basic tasks, not extras. No one even bothered to refill our water or check on our meal after we sat down. Why should I tip for that?FORCED TIPPING IS ILLEGAL!

This is a no-frills, nice, simple and quick place to get some solid food. We ordered a few items to snack on.  Some of the items we ordered included - Daikon Cake with egg (great texture), pork chop rice, dumplings, and wonton noodle soup. The pork chop was nice and crispy and the pickled veggies went well with it. The dumplings were pretty solid and full of meat and flavor.  Overall,  worth checking out.

There are many Chinese people nearby, so salty soy milk, egg rolls, and fried dough sticks are all freshly made. Tastes good! We also sell frozen meat buns, steamed buns and wontons. The guests are mainly Chinese.

Authentic Taiwanese Branch. I've already tried two times, and it's good. Prices are a little bit expensive from my POV. Services are okay. Recommend Soy milk, Chicken Porridge, Chinese Donut in my opinion. Pork Chop Rice can be slightly better in my opinion. Probably come back to try soup, noodles, or specialties next time.

Love getting their sweet rice roll and their soy milk when I'm craving some Taiwanese breakfast! Their sweet rice roll always taste so fresh and are such a great breakfast food to take to go or in case you just want an Asian breakfast. I've only ever had their sweet rice roll and not the purple rice one. I'm sure they're both good. When it comes to their soy milk, I've had their soy milk as a cold drink and as a hot drink. You can't go wrong with either and I like how they're not super sweet.

I definitely don't have much Taiwanese breakfast restaurants around where I live so when visiting my friend in LA, he recommended Yi Mei, I was super excited because it's been so long since I've had my Taiwanese breakfast fix!The shop is not to large but good for small parties of about 4. It's kept relatively clean. Service was good and food was brought out quickly. For the food items, I ordered some of the classics and my favorites including Pan Fried Turnip cake, egg pancake, porkchop and mixed pork rice plate, sweet tofu peanut soup, and sticky rice burrito, I liked most of the items and definitely had my cravings satisfied. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the pan fried turnip cake and egg pancake aren't as good as other ones i've had elsewhere. They are good but not amazing. I'll probably be back if i'm on the area. Good brunch place!
