I left Chowchilla five years ago after having lived here since I was 13 years old. Through that time one of my favorite places to go and eat was Pedro's pizza. The burritos were the best I'd ever had and the tortilla was toasted just the way I liked it. After 5 years I went back expecting it to had just been nostalgia or less refined taste buds but no, it's even better than it was 5 years ago. And to top it off, the card reader was resetting and instead of making me wait they let me sit down and start eating before charging me which was very kind of them. This is the best place to eat in chowchilla only because if I say in california or even the entire west coast someone will get mad.

Authentic Mexican food AND terrific Pizza, burgers, fries etc. I'm typically skeptical of a restaurant that has such a diverse menu... They almost always compromise the quality to produce quantity. Not Pedro's! Everything is great. There's something for everyone and everything is delicious
Vegetarian options: It's easy to sub beans for meat in any of their Mexican dishes. Most of their appetizers are meatless and they have some pretty outstanding cheese pizza! I'm about 80% meatless and I come here often.
Kid-friendliness: I've been getting my step kids pizza here for years... Pizza, chicken strips, burger, fries, quesadilla. They've got it all.
