Captain Sam's Fish & Chicken

Fish cravings satisfied. We had a hankering for fish and chips but not from a dine in restaurant. As it turns out, this was a deli style setting inside a mini mart/liquor store. I digress. We decided on the Cod fried fish and shrimp combo, but you can choose from Tilapia, Rockfish, or Catfish. Cod is more chunkier and flakier, I think. It was slightly overcooked, but the cornmeal batter was light and crispy. Same for the shrimp. I had the coleslaw, which was lightly sweet. The Banana pudding was good, she enjoyed it more than I did, it was good!Overall I think the price is a little high for the setting yet I enjoyed the meal and probably will return to sample the Rockfish and Tilapia. Lastly, the gentleman helping me was very nice and helpful with the menu.

The only complaint is yall don't know how to season food.

Those thin pieces of fish they are selling as catfish IS NOT CATFISH! The shrimp is great though.

Ask for your catfish fried hard if you like it that way as I do. It was my first time there. They also do not have a sit down option. So by the time we got home to eat it had cooled off.

Everything was excellent at reasonable prices. Great service. I will surely return

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in San Diego county. Not only is the food absolutely A+, their team is as well. If fried chicken was a healthy food, I would be here every day

Did you go there for the chicken that is pretty good. You don't go there for the atmosphere since it's inside of a little market/liquor store. The staff has always been friendly.

Great food, and quick friendly service, come check them out,they will be happy to serve you with a smile!!. I would have posted pictures but I forgot because I ate it so fast ,it was so good.

The closest you will get to " next to the sea! " Fresh and fried perfect!! The Cod is flavorful! The jumbo shrimp are also fresh!!! Love the batter,!

Ordered through door dash food arrived cold and was definitely not fresh second time I ordered and was the same twice will not ever order again stale food definitely frozen then throw in the fryer garbage place should refund my money 30.00 shame

Parking: Small little plaza for some local businesses. The restaurant is located in a bodega/liquor store, which is convenient for having a one-stop shop.

Ive had captain sams plenty of times but this will be my last time.!! I ordered a fish dinner. Catfish was soggy and borderlined uncooked. Literally the batter seasoning was falling off fish!! Ordered onion rings instead of fries. Oniom rings were cooked right, just overly salty and this is coming from a healthy 35 year old. Mac n cheese bites were just down right horrible!! Wouldnt feed that crap to a animal. I feel played. Yall have lost a customer and i will be telling others its a no go!! I have a nice sized social media following , 🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️🙅🏾‍♂️
