She refilled our drinks without us having to ask which is crazy because she was the only server at a pretty busy lunch time.”

The staff are incredibly kind and attentive. One time they noticed I got shorted a taco before I did and gave me an additional taco. I didn't even ask for that, they were just nice. The music is always a vibe when you choose to dine in. Definitely a 10/10 experience every time.”

If you sit at the first booth when you enter, you'll be cold because the staff and customers are constantly coming in and out so there's a cool breeze everytime the door is opened so for people who get cold quick, bring a sweater. I nearly bought another bowl to go for tomorrow's dinner then remembered the price of gas 😅 Light, airy, roomy interior. Has a juke box and a pool table. The family that runs it were super nice, helpful, and, man can she cook! Parking is metered but fairly cheap $1.50 for 2 hours before 6. You might get lucky on a side street. Price of everything at lunch including 20% tip was under $40 I'm not going to try to spell the name of their house made sauce but it's also delicious”

“Went here probably 8x, mostly made the same order and it came out different each time. If a menu says the pizza toppings, you'd expect those toppings or get told if something was out. Nope 1x we literally had a single sliver of green pepper and 2 slivers of onion.... 2x there were no veggies at all. 1x asked for no mushrooms and they put extra. I even showed the owner pictures of the previous pizzas and pictures of the receipts, he said he would fix it. The next visit was the correct pizza and decent portion of chicken. The following visits were back to the same missing veggies and such.🤷🏼♂️ The consistency here is just horrible. Some times the pizza is cooked perfectly and others it is soggy and cold in the middle. As for the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, it often has a very very small portion of chicken. 1x it was what I felt a decent portion. If they were more consistently good we'd be back probably weekly. I would say 6 of the 8x we had issues. I don't like sending food back, but also want what I pat for. Some staff are very friendly and do an excellent job, checking in just enough. However some employees seem they hate their job and we have to ask 2 to 3x for more water or ranch. I was excited to have found a new place, but sadly the overall quality is just a coin flip. For the price it isn't worth the hassle. And our visits have never been during a busy time. I won't accept anything to return, I have it enough chances. Also don't believe their 5 star reviews as they offer you a free desert in exchange for a 5 star review.”

I recently stopped in the Friday before Valentine's day to treat my wife and daughters to a nice dinner. This was their first experience with a meal like this and it definitely was an experience they haven't stopped talked about. To start off, there was about a 5-7 minute wait around 6pm which worked out perfectly. Our server Anthony went above and beyond without even knowing it. He along with every other staff member working that night was on point. Within a few minutes I had started cooking our first round of meat. Everything from the sides to all the different types of meat we got were amazing. Anytime I asked for anything whether it was another fork, another side or round of meat for the table, Anthony was on top of it. I had to get his attention before leaving and thank him for truly giving us an amazing dining experience. I would absolutely recommend coming here anytime you're in the mood for some BBQ.”

“We ate here today. First, in anticipation, we bought a gift card at Costco for $79 with a $100 value. If you're taking a larger party there or plan on going back a couple times, grab one of these for 20% off of whatever you're going to buy anyway.
They start your table off with a chopped chibata roll and herb oil dip.
We ordered a pizza Hawaiian style with cauliflower crust and a tasty dish called Dynamite shrimp. We ordered our son a child's menu cheese pizza and broccoli (I've added a kids menu).
It was 5:30pm on a Tuesday and traffic was pretty easy and our waiter was fairly knowledgeable.
The pizza was definitely far more tasty than that frozen disc CPK sells I've been buying in the store.
The Dynamite shrimp 🍤 was a pleasant surprise. It was a nice balance of the spicy shrimp with a blender Hawaiian pizza.
I haven't eaten at a CPK in years ( I don't feel that CPK initials had caught on the last time I ate in here), but I'm glad I dropped in.
Also, side note: the bathroom is well managed. Bye.”

I am not someone that picks a place for the atmosphere, I go places for their food, if the atmosphere is good I might stay longer but if the food’s good I’ll come back.
Which is the case with this place, the food is so good that I would travel back from mexico just to eat their ribeye tacos.
I’ve read about people complaining about the atmosphere here, there are too used to fast food joints, this is how a real taqueria feels like, it’s rustic, not sterile, there’s ash from the charcoal flying and landing in the furniture out back, loud music, informal service. If you can’t deal with that, go get yourself some fast food instead, this might not be for everyone. But the food…
The food is worth it, not sterile uberclean plastic setting we tend to find this side of the wall, this feels authentic, and tastes like the best in Mexico. The quality of the raw materials ids the best I have seen, even in México. Could the setting be better? Who cares, the tacos are fantastic that’s all that counts.

Don’t want to compare specifically here with other famous taco places in SD, but this place is the most similar to tacos I tried in Mexico. The tacos were made with extremely fresh ingredients and they were super tasty. Service is also very good! FYI, I went there in a perfect time like 4pm and there was so wait, but I saw the line was getting long when we existed around 5pm. Controversially, I personally have thought SD does not actually that many good taquerias (I think LA is much better) but I’m glad I finally found a very good one here”
