“This is a cute little deli with really really good sandwiches that travel pretty well! My fiancé and I stopped here before heading to the zoo and carried them in my tote bag for about 3 hours and they just barely started to soak through the wrapper. “It is really good and I definitely recommend. Its a great place when you're craving a good, fresh, no frills sandwich.

First time I went and it was tough to choose as they have a solid selection. Ended up going basic ham sandwich and it was great. French roll and ingredients were fresh and it had a fat slab of ham on it.

They also have soup, which I intend to try next time as its hard to find a good soup. If the sandwich was an indicator, should be good to go.

A bit tough to find as its on the 4th floor of a commercial building, but there are lots of signs.“

“I’m so happy I found this place . I got sick of subway so I went to jimmy John’s. But they only have cold subs there . So this being on just past the bike shop behind jimmy John’s was an oasis since I just like sandwiches for lunch lol .. but my boss likes hot sandwiches and this place is like Ike’s sandwiches but bigger and more items like smoothies and pastry’s and all the stuff you’d expect to see at a perfect deli . It’s a hidden gem.

“I pass by Big Front Door often heading to work. Decided to stop in and give it a try this afternoon. I got their Cobbler salad and my friend got the chicken parmesan sandwich. The portion sizes are very generous, I asked for extra dressing with my salad and didn't really need it as there was a decent amount left. The food tasted great and was served up without much of a wait time. The star of the show was the gentleman that helped us though! I wish I had taken the time to get his name to give him proper credit. He greeted us, made small talk while my friend and I decided what to have and as we were leaving he offered to clear our table for us. Very polite and friendly! I will definitely be adding this to my list of regular places to go.“

“This was our first time eating at the Executive Deli & Cafe as we had business nearby. The other patrons seemed like comfortable regulars, which is always a good sign. Parking was tight, but our sandwiches were made with fresh ingredients and were very tasty. They have lots of options for bottled drinks and they offer home made, pre-wrapped desserts. We shared a slice of yummy banana nut bread that was very generous.“

“This deli is very good! We got the monster (which absolutely lives up to its name, it was so big it was literally 4 meals) the olive spread on it was delicious too! As well as the san diegan which was also good however after only a 5m drive home was very soggy which was a shame. The service in the little store was amazing, what a nice man working the front and a unique shop, the people working the deli didn’t seem as enthusiastic to be there but that’s okay. The only thing is I find the price to be quite expensive for just their basic sandwich’s. They are very good quality but for a sandwich out of a deli like this expensive IMO.“

“.......this is the best deli in san diego county period !!........2 of my favorites are the meatball (of course !) and the muffaletta.......that meatball sammie has some of the best meatballs i've had on this planet.........and boy, does this deli have delicious bread which we all know can make or break the sammie, irregardless of what's stuffed inside.......a bit crusty on the outside but pillowy soft wonderness on the inside.......drenched in tasty marinara, some goood melted provolone and them tasty meatballs.............my soul ascends somewhere while i eat this tasty treat, every time..........and that muffaletta is a nice, lighter surprise than the one in the big easy.......the olive spread is nice and brawny like a good olive spread should be..........i've had a few others as well but wanted to highlight my faves...........you can't go wrong here and your tastebuds will say grazie grazie grazie.........“

If you're new in town, you won't find it just strolling through downtown San Diego, but ask anyone who works within a mile of 4th and B, they can point you to The Plaza Deli and 401 Brew Street. I've been eating here for 26 years. Beautiful family, amazing and friendly staff. Good portions. Sandwiches large enough for two meals, and more salad choices (and salad dressings) than you will find anywhere. My breakfast fave, the croissant with sausage, egg and cheddar - toasted :)“

This deli combo was much cheaper than nearby similar businesses. Just had the most amazing sandwich ... the Jose's Special was outstanding. Hot pastrami, juicy roast beef, Swiss on grilled sourdough.

I usually get the Philly Cheese-steak, but wanted something different today. I found my new favorite.

“We had an incredible experience at Lou’s Deli SD! The food was absolutely amazing and everything tasted exactly as expected. I highly recommend the chicken caesar salad wrap—it was delicious, packed with flavor, and incredibly filling. We also grabbed the potato salad and tater tots to share, and both were the perfect sides to top off the meal.

The service here is top-notch. The staff was attentive enough that you felt genuinely cared for and assisted, but they weren't hovering or making you feel overwhelmed. It's that perfect balance that's hard to find.

To top it all off, they are incredibly dog-friendly. I had read online that dogs were welcome, but I didn't expect my pup to get such amazing treatment! As soon as we sat down, they offered a fresh bowl of water and even brought out a pup cup with whipped cream.

Great food, fantastic service, and they treat your four-legged friends like royalty. We will definitely be back!“
