“Had the pleasure of being served today by Stephanie P, who made her multi-tasking look easy. All food delivered as ordered, hot, on time. Extras brought with a smile. Highly recommended.”
“We ordered the shrimp tacos and chicken tacos. The shrimp tacos were so good my husband ordered more to go, then ate them in the car. They are battered, deep fried but the breading is thin and the shrimp are large. They also bring a tray of sauces so you can try whichever ones you want on your tacos. We will definitely visit again when we already in town.”
“Sushi is DELICIOUS! Customer Service is Awesome! Place is Mellow and Relaxing and very Enjoyable!”

“This restaurant is a National City favorite and mainstay of available Asian-themed eateries. In an area with similar and competing food offerings, coming here for take out or dine in is worth the time. The menu offers items for lunch, dinner, and party trays. Of note, the crispy chicken wings are a very popular item.”

“I come here pretty often and love the flavors, but as a salmon lover I am begging you guys to cut all the fat off the salmon poke. I will get a plate with just the salmon shoyu and spicy salmon, and most pieces have a half an inch thick of rubbery, gross, unchewable fat. The best plate I had here was ironically when the owner was present. Please cut your salmon”
“the mazapan cupcakes ate to die for. my boyfriend is all abiut them. ive ordered the mazapan drip cake 2x from her. and the strawberry 4 leches ooomgg must try. i always regret not placing an order in advance but if i did i would gain 3x more this quarantine! sams attention to detail is amazing. and shes super sweet also!”

“Hands Down the best carnitas of all of San Diego. My family and I always buy our carnitas here. We get the carnitas by the pound and they are delicious 😋. They also catered 2 of my party events my baby shower and my daughter's 1st communion at a reasonable price. I said I wanted for 50 people and they set it up in party trays and I picked it up. It came with everything: carnitas, rice, beans ,3 salsas, chiles with sauted onions, guacamole and chicharrones. To ensure that they stayed walm i put the food on party trays warmers. My guest loved it and was a hit ♥️🙏”
“i tried ping yang on my lunch break today. it’s in a cute and chill market space, seems great for an office lunch out or families. the thai family who run it are really sweet and they were happy to help me pick something to try. ive had a lot of great thai food before, and this place is amazing! i ordered their honey pork rice and LOVE it- it reminds me of other thai bbq pork dishes ive had but the flavor here is beautifully complex with a really perfect hint of black pepper. i also had the chicken teriyaki gyoza, and it is extra crunchy and fantastic. i’ll definitely be back to try their pork belly dish, it looks super good!”
“We tried this restaurant two nights ago, for the first time. I called and placed an order, it was ready in like 15 minutes for pick up. Brought it home and devoured every bite! We got the BBQ Pork rice plate, BBQ Chicken rice plate, steak Pho, and egg rolls. It was enough for my husband, two of my children, and myself. It was absolutely delicious!”
“Great service ,Delicious food 10/10

“Their adobada tacos are super cheap and absolutely to die for, and their adobada fries come as a huge portion - definitely recommend if you like adobada. Their adobada also has cinnamon in it, so if you're a fan of adobada that's cinnamon-y, 100% recommend trying this place.”
“I am so glad I tried this place! The food here is absolutely fantastic. The pizza dough is perfectly soft and fluffy, and they definitely don't skimp on the cheese.
Beyond the amazing pizza, their wings and fresh salads are some of my absolute favorites. On top of the great quality, the prices are incredibly reasonable and hard to beat. You can really tell the owner takes genuine pride in the food and the restaurant. The service was excellent, friendly, and our order was prepared quickly.”
“Landed into SD kind of late and was looking for a good spot to eat since I was staying in National City. Los Burritos was one of the restaurants open late. I randomly found it while driving to my hotel. The woman and young man working/cooking the food were very nice. The food was delicious one of the best Mexican spots I've been to. I got the enchiladas with rice and beans. I wanted to go back before I left SD but unfortunately didn't have the time. Next time I am in town, I will definitely be back.”
“The cook is a great guy. My man been going alot of years and he introduced me to the place. Not really a sit and eat type but I love the vegetables they have. The pricing for the salt and pepper wings is great &he runs specials like 2 get 1 free. When I’m feeding a lot of people it’s my go to place.”
“I crossed the border into Mexico hoping to find those delicious street tacos I remember from 30 years ago. Spent days looking and no matter the location the recommendations, suggestions. I crossed back over good ol California. I stopped here because I saw a line so long. One would curiously wonder why? My spidy senses were right on the Money. The BEST tacos, burritos, quesadillas.”
“Great customer service great food bomb flavor quality products Omar and Oscar took care of me go show some support y’all 💯”

“Stopped by this Jack in the Box to try the new ribeye burger, thanks to the coupon from retail me not app, buy one and get one free. The ribeye burger was great and the restaurant was well-maintained and decorated for Christmas. Keep up the good work, I will be back soon.”
“Just happened to drive by the truck today and had to stop once I saw that beautiful flag I already had dinner plans but those changed real quick and I’m real glad they did because these guys make some delicious and authentic Rican food. Going back from my Christmas I read it five flags 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷”
“I enjoyed myself ??? The co-owner was awesome as she moved around the crowd and spoke to ppl and seen her help clear tables ? The dj on Friday night was dope, had me dancing ?? The bartender (white dude with long hair ??) he has stellar customer service ?? met friendly people and staff! I like how they have a smoking area where you could still hear the music dead on , but they could have dimmer lights in the smoking section coz it bothered my eyes ???? I didn't get to try the food but I look forward to doing so soon!! Security was on it, great communication skills amongst each other and they paid attention all around; I felt safe.. I don't think anyone would mess with ??. Bathroom was very clean and the long mirror A+ ???. I ordered patron and redbull, I suggest they keep their redbulls chilled since a customer like myself orders the entire can ? price was decent!! I went earlier so parking was great for me but probably not for the late heads ?”
Takeout Restaurants
“Christine and Camille are very approachable when asking for help. I like the Halo-Halo and Palabok with Chicken Empanada which is a must visit here in Red Ribbon. Also, The store are very clean even the restroom which you could tell that cleanliness is one of they focus on”
“With the commercialized takeover of the creamery industry there aren’t too many true creameries left in this world. I stumbled up Handel’s when I was visiting In’n’Out on a work trip. The slogan “Handmade since 1945” caught my eye and it looked like a creamery I remember as a boy. I was stunned at their setup of ice cream freezers behind the counter. It’s cool to watch them scoop cones! I read about Handel’s story and the people who bought Handel’s did it right when they scaled the business. It definitely feels like a small town creamery which is rare these days.
I had the pistachio ice cream with a waffle cone and it was very good! I got the small and they piled the ice cream high! Definitely worth the price!”
“Visiting family from the East Coast and my daughter took me here today. I was stationed in Daegu South Korea for 2 years while in the Army. we used to get bb.q chicken almost every weekend. The kids loved it and so did I. This was my first time having it in 8 years and it immediately brought me back to being in Daegu. The food was amazing and brought us right back to being there. I highly recommend you check them out, you won't regret it!”
“Best pupusas in San Diego and I've tried them all, I'vebeen going there for over 10 years.. Everything else I've had is also excellent very fresh and very flavorful. Good friendly service but they couldn't offer tap water so you must purchase bottled water. No air-conditioning so it gets pretty hot sometimes but I highly recommend for the pupusas.”
“Lee is truly an asset to this restaurant. She’s always kind, welcoming, and makes every customer feel valued. Good service is what brings people back, and Lee is the kind of person who builds loyal customers to add to that the chefs know exactly what they are doing and the establishment is spotless clean thank you all for being a part of the community!”
“Food was delicious, service was great, place is clean. I will be back for more😋😋😋”
“Absolutely loved the food, the service and the music!! Maria, our hostess, is a vibe. Thanks Maria for a memorable meal and we look forward to the Temecula location.”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“One of our favorite spots ever, the servers are attentive are really funny with us, they would throw some jokes there and there when they notice that you're friendly. It offers amazing services and discounts with the app. The times that i had come to this spot, its always clean despite it being packed up!”
“I had a really nice experience at Bonchon National City. The main reason I wanted to try it was the Korean fried chicken, and the chicken definitely stood out. The outside had a really nice crunch while the inside was tender, and the sauces gave it a lot of flavor without completely covering up the chicken. The soy garlic is a good choice if you prefer something savory, while the spicy option has more of a kick.
I also like that there are other choices besides fried chicken. The menu includes bibimbap, fried rice, potstickers, takoyaki, bulgogi fries, bao buns, and other Korean-inspired dishes, so it works well if everyone in the group wants something different. The vegetable potstickers and bibimbap can be useful options for someone looking for a meat-free choice, although people with allergies or strict dietary restrictions should ask the restaurant about ingredients and cross-contact because several dishes contain ingredients such as sesame, dairy, eggs, and other common allergens.
The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, so I could see this being a comfortable place for a casual meal with kids. The food is also easy to share, especially the wings, mixed chicken orders, and appetizers. The restaurant can get busy, though, so the experience may feel a little slower during peak times.
For accessibility, it is worth checking the current setup directly if someone in your group uses a wheelchair or has specific accessibility needs. I would also ask the staff about seating and restroom access before visiting if accessibility is especially important.
One thing I would mention honestly is that the experience can vary when the restaurant is busy. Some customer feedback praises the food and friendly service, while other reviews mention slower service, missing items, or occasional order issues.
Overall, I think Bonchon National City is a good option if you're craving crispy Korean-style fried chicken with bold sauces. I especially like that there are several different dishes to choose from, making it a good spot for sharing with family or friends. I would definitely consider coming back for the chicken, especially when I'm in the mood for something crispy, flavorful, and a little different from regular fried chicken.”
“Cheaper than dominoes but taste way better in my opinion. Youre not getting an authentic Italian or new york pizza eating experience here... but thats not with this place is. This is place is to get a great pizza at a great price. Worth every dollar. Especially good for birthday or office parties or whenever you just need good ol pizza in bulk.”
“Crab Pub is the best! I’ve spent years going to Crab Hut but it’s been getting so expensive. I found Crab Pub literally a few days after they opened and been going ever since. I recommend then to everyone. You won’t be disappointed. Only thing they don’t have is corn bread but it’s ok!”
“It is my favorite ramen place, I always come here to socialize with friends, and I love how spacious it is. Even on a busy day it doesn't feel cramped up. Their food is excellent, both ramen and sushi.”
Cheap Eats
“Great food and ice cream. Very good service given by a sweet lady.”
“I've never had fresh Hopia before and Ching's is excellent! The empenadas are awesome too with that Filipino flavor I've been missing. The turon is fantastic because they don't put a bunch of sugar all over it. Service was great as well, giving me the most fresh Hopia they had from the oven. I'll definitely be back!”
“Food portion is a little off if you dine in. The rice and meat ratio is not good. Rice looks like they only gave you 1 or 1.5 scoop while the meat is a good amount. We got the spamsilog and wife got the tapsilog. They gave us 4 slices of spam, which is a good portion vs the rice. Good flavor on the food, the garlic rice, just needs a little bit of salt to taste. Overall good experience!”
“Been coming here for years now.
It’s our spot for Pansit, siomai, and Spanish bread.
They are selling Espasol now (regular & Ube), so I’ve been coming here more often now since it’s my wife’s favorite, and this is where she believes the best Espasol in SD is.
Just have cash available since there’s an extra charge if you’re paying with a credit card.
They just did some renovation inside the store, so it’s more welcoming and offers more Filipino canned products/delicacies now.
No issues with parking during my visit. Nice staff.”
“Omg! I just started working in the area, and I stop by to try it out. The staff was so nice. I got the pineapple sorbet with chamoy and tajin, I was so delicious. I gonna come back and bring my kids, they would live to see them make and roll the ice cream. Super cool experience.”
“They always take a while to get your order ready ALWAYS! But the wait is very worth it. I had originally came here for the pork katsu and curry which is really good. I tried their sushi for the first time last night and was seriously surprised, in a good way. I’ve tried several sushi places in the South Bay and this is some of the best. If you’re ever in the area and craving sushi you should try it! I recommend it.”
“I tried the oreo brown sugar marble with SCC and boba drink and added crystal bobba and lychee jelly that honestly just surpassed my expectations.
The flavor was spot on, not too sweet, and the boba had the perfect chewy texture. It was refreshing and really hit the spot. Definitely one of the better drinks I’ve had recently.”

“John our server was the most attentive server I’ve had in a while. He made sure our appetizers were served first before the main entree. Unfortunately they didn’t have the passion fruit lemonade I liked but he went above and beyond to double check if they had it and offered an alternative. Corey and Meghan were also attentive & made sure to check up on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back & hopefully John can be our server again!”

“The foods are very good and have a lot of options. I like the fried crabs and fried chicken here. Their sushi bar is also good and fruits and salad bar. They also have soups and ice cream machine. So far so good for affordable price. 4 star because of their bathrooms needs a little attention and need some TLC”

“First time trying Korean hotpot and it was very good. We liked it so much we came back the next day and tried a different item from the menu but the pork bone soup is the best.
I guess the service varies, the night we were there everything went well (Riley is awesome) but the next day we came back for lunch with a different staff was kind of off and don’t feel like serving us. But overall still recommend to try it!”
“Our other rotational option for pastries/dessert other than 85° and Paris Baguette.
Cakes are available behind the counter. Ordered three cakes here already. Little pricey but it’s worth it. Cute designs and not overly sweet.
Cloud donuts were nice and soft but no wow factor on the first bite. Butter roll was delicious; crispy and flaky crust with buttery taste and texture inside.
We tried their strawberry smoothie; missing the strawberry flavor. Glad we had some
strawberry at home and had to salvage the drink.
Aesthetics is giving and inviting. Staff were all nice and courteous.
Parking is hit or miss depending on the time since it’s on the same plaza as Seafood City and multiple Asian restaurants.”
“I got the Box A sushi box! I got a Philadelphia roll, dragon roll, and seaweed salad. Paid a little extra to sub a soda for their Daily Matcha. Total was around $25. I am honestly so surprised at how good the sushi is! I've definitely paid much more for this quality, really amazing value for all the food you get. Fish is generous and has a very fresh taste to it! Matcha is very good, balances sweet and bitter perfectly, overall smooth and refreshing. Inside there is some seating and tables, this makes a great study location for National City. Staff was super sweet/polite and accommodating! I would say, as long as prices don't increase too much this is a fantastic place to get solid quality sushi.”
“This new location is spotless. There is lots of parking and service is pleasant, welcoming, and efficient. TJ style tacos are flawless with handmade tortillas and and extensive salsa bar. Al Pastor off the trompo was spiced just right, nicely charred with a hint of sweetness from the pineapple. Carne Asada tasted of the carbon, was succulent and delicious. Cabeza was melt in your mouth yummy. Highly recommended!”
